Welcome Jenny, it's good to see you here. I'll have a look at you fitday in just a minute here.
Hi everyone! I did not get my day off. I got called in at 6 this morning. I do not feel a whole lot better. I had peanutbutter and honey on toast for supper. It's all I wanted and it's sitting down there pretty well, so I'll just have to forget the calories for today. I'll try to do better tomorrow, depending how my stomach feels. But I really am off Wednesday and am really looking forward to that.

Jenny? Can you bump up the protein and have some more veggies? Adding protein will help with that being sooo hungry soon after eating.

A Starkiss is a sort of fruity sherbet/frozen slush puppy child. It's frozen into the shape of a star and stuck on a stick. You just have to eat one and for 80 calories the thing is huge.

Good Morning!

Overall, I think I did fairly well yesterday. I walked twice - in the morning and at lunch. My calories were at about 1450 for the day. My fiance ended up bringing me Thai Fried Rice (with chicken, yum!) for dinner. It's not what I would have chosen, but it was sweet of him to think of me. I ate it in the car running from one place to another, and only ate half.

One of my friends here at work told me yesterday that I look slimmer. I like that word! I feel lighter somehow, but maybe that is just because I just finished my cycle. I don't want to get excited too soon. I do know for sure that the more I walk, the less it hurts to walk. That's a good thing

Susan, what other kinds of protein should I have? I added the low-fat cottage cheese in there just for the protein (even though I hate it lol). Besides that, I have an egg, skim milk, and low-fat turkey lunch meat. The veggies I can definitely do!

I can't wait until my scale gets here . . .

Susan, I hope you get a chance to rest soon. I know how exhausting it can be! Hope everyone has a great day, and I'd love to keep chatting

Good Morning all .

I had a deficit of 724 yesterday. I ate well with 1641 cals I did great at the gym though yesterday. My legs feel so tired this morning! Today is rest from exercise day so I will likely have a smaller deficit tomorrow.

I had a deficit of 1262 yesterday, even after I added sleep to my activities (which reduced my BMR). Does this seem right?

Way to go, dgpebbles. It must be so satisfying to grab that smaller size!

Lynn, what kind of routine do you do at the gym? I'd love to get back in to it, if only I could find time to go

Hi Binglebug . I've just started a new plan at the gym, circuit training 3 x a week which involves 25 - 40 mins of running on the treadmill then onto weights. I do 2 sets of weights on various machines with 15 reps per machine. I'm also planning to run my first 5k in May so will start a running training plan sometime early March.

Prior to that I was doing interval training on the treadmill 3 x week for about 30 mins each time followed by weights.

1262 seems to me like a high deficit but if you are doing lots of activity then I can see you getting that. Have you set your activity level on fitday to sedentary (bed bound)? I know that helps fix numbers to make them look more realistic.

I just changed it to sedentary, and it changed by about 500 calories. Either way, I have a deficit and that is good

That sounds like a great routine! Do you enjoy it?

I really enjoyed it yesterday, of course that was my first day on it too so we'll see how it goes. I tend to get bored easily so might change it up after a couple of months. This plan does seem like a challenge though and I love challenges.

Fitday is a funny old thing, I had to fiddle with my settings quite a bit before I got numbers that made sense to me. SusanB is the Fitday guru though, she'll set you right if you have any concerns .

I had a deficit of 623. I need to get some fudgesicles or something. I need chocolate. WTG BingleBug! By the way, I love Chicago.

A fitday guru? I dunno bout that. I practice a lot
I think the safest thing to do is start with bedridden or sedentary (whichever it's called) and figure in only strenuous activity, like exercise or active work.

When you have a few sort of common days, take the time to start with bedridden and add all of your activities, housework, showering, shopping etc. If that comes out to about 'standing work' you can change it and stop adding every little thing. Mine works out about right if I start with seated work and only add vigorous activity like work, exercise, stacking wood ...

Ah protein! How I love to promote protein! Tuna, egg whites, skinless chicken, fish, protein powder ... You'll think of ways to hide cottage cheese. It's just such a fabulous food.

Wa-Hoo!!

I weighed in at TOPS today and I lost another 2 pounds!! That's seven pounds total including my unofficial weigh-in last week of 5 pounds lost. I was the "loser of the week" because technically I lost 7 pounds from the last actual meeting. Well, I think I still would have been the loser of the week with my two pound loss.

What's kind of weird is that for all of the times I've been on Weight Watchers, I've never lost this much in two weeks (or more). I think with counting calories, I am much more aware of what I'm eating. I wonder if it helps that I have a "budget" of 1860 instead of 31?

I was hoping that at my podiatrist appointment today, the good doctor would have switched me back to my sneakers and the new orthotics (which, by the way, cost $400!!!). Nope.. now I get to go to physical therapy for my foot. Oh well, the cami-walker (boot thing) makes my foot feel MUCH better so I am not going to complain too much. I was just looking forward to getting on the treadmill or exercise bike. Right now the only exercise I get is hobbling to the bathroom!! Oh, and playing fetch with my non-stop westie Abby. My schnauzer Dexter has been hit too many times accidentally so he stands BEHIND me now.

That is the case for me. It's more "real" for some reason? What did you do to your foot? You're doing great diet wise if you can lose all that weight (7 pounds!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) without exercise!

BingleBug - depending on how much you weigh that sounds like a good deficit. I'm 100 pounds overweight, eat between 1,300-1,600 calories a day and my deficit runs on average 1,000 calories a day - some higher and some lower. I need a minimum of 700 calorie deficit/day to lose 2 pounds a week.
