Sage2's Little Log, Part 3, Easter to Solstice Personal Challenge

Down .6 to 126.8 for the week. Doing a little personal challenge for the 76 days between Easter and the Summer Solstice (June 21). No biggie, as always. I'm at a healthy weight for my less than 5'2" frame but want to move toward my also healthy goal. Will be, as usual, counting cals and trying to keep them under 2000, which I didn't do today, but that's okay dokey. Hoppy Easter.

Monday, April 6, calories: 1980 (huzzah, under 2000)

Exercise: 11,000+ steps, daily conditioning routine & 15-min weights

Had some breakthroughs as far as emotional stability yesterday, too. Moving on mentally from some moodiness and ridiculous thought processes that have been bogging me down and contributing to stress eating.

Another big breakthrough is I have FINALLY accepted the fact that I JUST CAN'T EAT HERSHEY BARS & CONTROL EATING. This is serious; I have had a mad love affair with HBs practically forever and the reasons have to do with some happy memories from long ago and that's valid BUT the bars (which are gluten free so I can eat them, sadly) are just too triggering for me as far as impacting weight management in a negative way. I did not have any on Sunday or Monday and this is DAY THREE OF THE NO HB LIFESTYLE.

It's been a healthy week:

For the first time in a number of years, a small amount of jogging has been mixed into my walking routine. It's been fun and the knees are not hurting so we'll keep it.

The project of NOT eating a daily Hershey bar (or bars) has been going well, too.

That's pretty much it. The official Sunday weigh-in will happen tomorrow (today) and we'll see how the land lies.

Great job with your healthy week, Sage! :carrot:

And the OFFICIAL SUNDAY TALE O' THE SCALE is up .6 to 127.4 and am happy with that as I had slightly higher daily weights all this week after the nice low last Sunday.

I also had a healthy calorie week with no deprivation and am still banning my number 1 trigger food, Mr. Hershey Bar. I have added a little sensible jogging into my routine and my knees are telling me that's okay.

I am at a healthy weight, just wanting not to go back up the scale to where I was decades ago (way higher than now). And I'd like someday to get to my 118 goal again (I'm 5'2" and that's a healthy BMI and my clothes fit best at that weight and I also feel good at that weight) but am in no hurry.

All is well in the land but I have to study today so that's all, folks.

Status Report

Sage2 is up 1.4 from last Sunday to 128.8. Now to return to typing in the first person, I am not really minding that little gain as I've been stable for the past few days & had been higher for a few days previous to that.

I love daily weighing, although Sunday is my "official" weigh-in and official weight for the week. Weighing daily puts the data in context so I can see I am basically maintaining around 127-ish.

I am also doing better with my fitness lifestyle: lifting heavier weights, walking & doing better with the quality of food eaten at a maintenance calorie level. If I tweak cals more consistently I will eventually be where I'd prefer but I am at a healthy weight in the meantime, so refusing to obsess over one weigh-in, although being at a weight I prefer is still a major and important project in my life.

I remember decades ago, way howdy previous to being at 3FC (and I've been on and off here for a long time, or even being in the state where I live now, long before people talked much about diets on the internet). My distant goal in those obesity years was 127 and over the intervening time, I've lost some and gained some (never back to the original obesity, though). I've moved the goal around, rested and regrouped, but I've never stopped the journey.

Fast forward to now, having fairly recently been in the sub-120s where I now fit better as I've lost height over recent years, I find it ironic that right now I'm maintaining at the good, healthy level I used to covet.

Still, and I will repeat this, I was below 120 not so long ago and the goal is currently 118 (or thereabouts, I may tweak it again sometime, you never know).

I'll get there again.

Rome was not built in a day.

You are being very persistent, Sage, and it will pay off! :)

Manifesto

And the scale rewarded my efforts today by showing me a maintenance since Sunday (128.8). :carrot:

I'm pleased because I've been way higher than that in my daily weigh-ins this week, back to the 130s, and the jeans have barely been fitting. Water weight? Yes, to some extent, but it is calories that rule; I've learned that at least in the approximately two decades that I've been out of obesity and in the past year or so that I sojourned in the land of the 120s and below, where let's face it, life (and joints) is just better for me.

NOT GOING ON ANY FURTHER TRIPS UP THAT SCALE TRAIL.

Well, I hope so anyway. Sunday is the official weigh-in, but again, I weigh daily, so we'll see.
