Hey guys :) ..i just started with calorie counting and I'm aiming for 1500 calories per day...wanted to know if thats okay? I've also been reading threads in where some members worry about not consuming their target calories...what happens if instead of consuming the assigned 1500 I only consume 1200? Thanks in advance

You will probably lose a lb.? LOL! Just kidding. The reason I try to stick to my target calories is for that reason, to lose as much weight as possible, with as much food as possible of course. I do more of a JUDD type cal. program. So far I have lost 11 lbs doing that. :) wishing you good luck....Ruth

A LB? Oh nooo Lol ...okay so I will try to consume the calories that I am assigned ...btw whats is JUDD?

So how is calorie counting treating you today? Today is an up day for me and I may have a few too many cals. :p Judd is a calorie controled way of eating ...one day up and one day down. DD an UD. You have a set number of calories for each of those days and you can eat anything you want as long as you don't go over your limit. I hope I explained that better than I think I did. LOL! Look up alternative day diet if you want to learn more. Or Dr. Johnsons web site. I don't find it difficult to do, not yet anyway.

Hope it is going well for you. Ruth

Many folks here use "myfitnesspal.com". Not only does it help by tracking your daily intake of calories, it helps you set a calorie limit based on your weight loss goals, how much you weigh, how active you are, etc. Also, you earn calories by tracking your exercise. For example, my daily calorie limit is 1450.

If you undereat calories, you force your body into "starvation mode" where it hangs on to everything...water, fat, etc., thinking it has to save itself.

Good luck!
