A matter came up yesterday and I never made it to the stairs...or any workout at all and I went over my calories by a lot, and I went up to 235.8!!!! AHHHHHH!!!!!

Anyway, out to do a walk today and re-focus...I'm slowly sliding back in to the way of life, but it's going very slowly....so pray for me! LOL!!!

Emme Thank you!!! I am trying my best to stay positive through the losses and the gains

Okay ladies, I got to get out of the house today and do some exercise...trying to hit the stairs for real today and stop snacking, I'm zoning in my problem areas and it's snacking...gotta get that snacking under-hand.

Have a good day ladies!

Fit4Lyfe: good luck getting back on track!
I hear you about the snacking. Once I started actually tracking my calories, I was amazed at what I was eating without even realizing it!

Nothing much exciting going on here. Enjoying all the fabulous fruit that's available this time of year. I had the BEST cantaloupe yesterday. Yum!

Trying to move my running up from my typical 25 minutes to more like 45 during the summer. Managed 33 yesterday, but I was so tired at the end.

Default First CC challenge

I admit, I have been forum stalking for awhile. But I felt like I am ready to dive in and actively make a goal for July 4th.

We have a huge family reunion in July and I haven't seen many of my relatives for over 15 years. I would like to be healthier when I see them all.

I was doing great last fall, and got down to 274. Stress from a horrible job with a devilish boss and some health problems caused me gain about 19 lbs. I'm ready to get started again! Plus I am quitting my horrible job in 3 weeks. It's the first time I have ever quit anything in life and am a little scared. However, I feel I am making the best choice!

DH is so supportive and encouraging. Told me that my health and our quality of life is more important than a second income right now. I am going to take a little time off before heading back into the job market. I hope to use the time to get healthy, develop some new patterns and enjoy my dh and kids.

Goals for July 4th:

--Lose 15 lbs (big goal but I have a lot to lose--haven't been exercising and know I will drop a lot of weight this first month).
--Exercise at least 3 days a week on the eliptical
--Do my weights and ab workout at least 2 times a week
--Walk with the dh, kids, and dog every day.
--Keep up on my food journal app

Welcome Laughing!!

jiggle- you remembered about watermelon from last year? You are a sweety, thanks so much.

jdonato- your just as determined as i am, I know you won't give up. Thanks so much, no problem about the age thing. It's getting harder & harder because of my age. By the way, my avatar picture is old, I gained 10lbs since then, I don't look that way anymore. I should be happy I got this far, maybe I'm trying to feel like I'm young yet. You made me think.......
I appreciate all your help!

Emme- Thanks!

Walked 38min. in this really hot weather, even started early to try to avoid the heat. There was no avoiding it today, it was 88 degrees at 8am. Calories were 1230, I really wanted an orange so i was ok with going over. Scales going down, but now I think the rest is fat which takes forever to lose.

I'm really starting to freak out about going to the Japanese Buffet with my family on Sunday. Salad & fruit is always my main meal there, i don't eat the hot food. The desserts are the only thing I'm worried about, I don't go there much with my family since they are in their 80's, I want to enjoy myself. I don't want to gain 5lbs. from desserts! It's funny, i don't miss fast food, frozen meals, pizza or any of that, any kind of dessert is my only problem. Once I start eating it, i can't stop. So far I'm thinking that I will eat only the desserts that I know I love, if it's just so-so, it's not worth it, not all of them appeal to me. Why do I even have to be stressed by a petty problem like this, I want to look forward to it, not dread going. The never ending battle is driving me nuts, it's a constant struggle between me & the sweets. Who's gonna win?

Good Morning!!!!
I had another good day. I have been holding my calories under 1300 and the day I went over by 140 hasn't been damaging. So I think I will call it a victorious week on plan. I have to get more toning workouts in though. We are working summer hours now. Last year working the hours we work during the summer derailed me terribly. Since I'm working long hours with an extra day off I don't have the energy to workout. Which is why I have been so determined to keep my calories on point. I'm going to try to do a workout on my day off and the weekends. I will also have to stay away from the house so I can avoid snacking.
Fruitlady - I remember it because you are of course the fruit lady!!! I so understand the age thing and the work required to get this weight off. I want to have a better summer this year than I did last year.
Emme - How did your weigh in go??
Ekicna -
Laughing - I think when you choose your health over anything else you are making the right decision. Having a job that stresses you out and working for someone that is is not worth your health. I know things will be fine when you leave. You can get this done and you will be glad you made the decision.
Ann71 - Does running make you hungry? I used to run but I would be hungry and would have to increase my calories. I lost inches but no pounds.
Fit - Did you get those stairs in yesterday???
JD - I'm with you, we have to keep going. I was discouraged because I was having to increase my eating to compensate for my workouts but it resulted in maintaining my weight. I was stuck for SIX MONTHS!!! So don't let a few days get you down. Now that I'm not working out I have been able to decrease my calories and I'm loosing again. But we can't quit we just keep making adjustments until we find what works.

Let's have a fun and on plan day. We can do this and one more thing...no matter what kind of day you are having, CELEBRATE YOURSELF!!! It may not be going exactly like you want it to but you are making progress merely making the decision to work on doing better for you health.

Fruit ~ Dessert is my weakness, too. I've learned with calorie counting that if I am going to have some kind of dessert, that it is going to be a dessert that is decadent and enjoyable, not some run-of-the-mill brownie or something easy like that. Maybe find one dessert that is just "calling your name" and looks phenomenal, and just focus on that one thing.

Jiggle ~ I'm glad you had a good day! I hope your weekend is good, too!

My WI today was good: I'm down 0.6 from last Friday (and actually a whole pound from Monday with weight fluctuations), so I'll take it and run with it! Weekends are the hardest for me because I love to party with food and snack, so I might be posting here often this weekend just to keep my mind focused.

I hope you all have a great day!

Hello Hello peeps!!! I am down to 234.8, joy to the world (although I keep bouncing around but that's because I have one good day and one bad day...if I have 2 good days in a row though...magical things happen LOL) and I am looking forward to changing my ticker on Sunday or Monday or what have you...

Emme Awesome WI honey!!!

jigglefree When I was a Park Ranger Summer hours nearly drove me to an early grave! LOL! But no, I did not make it to the stairs, instead I did some stair action at my house...all these old Victorian homes have a bazillion flights of stairs, and mine ain't no different, I too, am learning that being out and active on my days off is a good thing, staying in the house means I get nothing done and I eat like a fatty

LaughinGirl78 WELCOME my Dear!!!!!

...off the stairs, for real this time!!!!! I swear!!! Keep it low-cal on this glorious Friday mes collègues soldats...

Hello ladies,

Day 4 of Phase 1 and still at 139.0 this morning I'm really hoping it's TOM. But as Jiggle and Fruit and all you ladies have supported me on, I'm not going to give up. I've been under my calories the past couple of days, eating very healthy, so we will see.

Tomorrow we are going shopping for my first "Brand New" car! I'm getting the 2011 Chevy Cruze. I hope everything goes well and I'm able to get it this weekend. I have it all figured out of all the Specs I want. And tomorrow night we are going bowling with my sister and her bf so our bf's can meet eachother for the first time lol..should be interesting.

Dinner last night was amazing, the chicken burgers were sooo good. I put fat free greek yogurt on top of the bottom eggplant slice, the chicken burger, then avacado on top of the chicken burger, and salsa on top of the top eggplant slice.

tonight is steak kabobs, with eye of round it's very lean, and pre-counted out so I know what I can eat.

we will see what the scales says tomorrow. Have a nice night ladies and keep up the great work!

jiggle- you will have a great summer!

Emme- thanks, the problem for me is stopping after one piece. Once I get that taste of sugar I will want sugar all day. It's best for me not to have it at all.

jdonato- Have fun car shopping!

Did real good on calories, 1199. I think I'm getting the hang of this! Exercise was only 20min, rode the bike vigorously. Had no time for a walk, missed it. Lost 4.2lbs since I've been eating clean for 4 days. As long as I stay around 1200 calories I lose steadily. No problem, I never feel hungry with 1200. I'm small, I guess I don't need as much food. Even did good resisting temptation at the supermarket tonight(yes, I buy junk and eat it even when I'm not feeling hunger). I chewed a piece of peppermint gum before I went in, It worked.

I'm gonna try chewing peppermint gum tomorrow when I go to two different farmer's markets for fruit. They both have really good baked goods & candy, if I don't buy any, it will be a miracle. Even if I eat a little bit, I'll be craving sugar for days & it will make me gain weight. Don't want to start trying to lose the same weight all over again.

Good luck to all!!

Hey ladies! Back from vacation...*sigh*

I actually think I did pretty well on my "break". I didn't end up eating as much as I though I would- sure, I made unhealthy choices (mmm bacon), but I didn't gorge on anything. I found myself not wanting to eat a whole lot. Haven't weighed to see the damage yet, though.

Yesterday, I got TOM while at a rest stop coming back. Ugh. I feel so tired (tom, had to take a zyrtec which always makes me tired, and got 4 hours of sleep the night before-followed by a six hr. drive and 8 hour shift at work) and miserable...and whiny! Yikes. Not good. I'm hoping to get back OP today fully and eat lightly.

I can't see myself exercising today, but maybe if I'm energized tomorrow morning I will. Right now, I'm just looking forward to 7:30 tonight when I leave work and can come home and crawl into bed! I'm sure by the time I get home I won't really want to sleep then, ha, but you never know.

I'm in a bad mood also because my manager isn't allowing me to pick up any OT, which I desperately need to pay my bills. I RELY on OT and holiday pay because we're so underpaid, but I won't get either now. They cut our holiday pay (which is double time, and I always work the holidays) for Memorial Day and 4th of July.

OKAY, enough of the whine. And yes, I would like some cheese!

Fruit- Wow! Congrats! And good luck with the will power! You're doing great! I don't know if I'd be able to completely cut something- I always end up saving some calories for a skinny cow treat every now and then, ha. But I hear you, one bite can lead to disaster.

k15- Awesome! Must feel so good to see the scale go down again!

Jdon- Probably TOM sneaking up on you. Sounds like you've been doing very well! Congrats on the new car. And the chicken burgers sound delicious.

Fit- Moving in the right direction! Good to hear- you can do this!

Emme- High five!

Jiggle- Congrats on being OP!!

Laughing- Welcome! And congrats on moving on from your job- something that takes such an emotional toll is never good for weight loss, or overall well being for that matter. It will feel so good to move on!

Ann- I love the fresh fruit this time of year. So good, and good for you. I can't wait to have some strawberrys!

Fit4Lyfe ~ Nice job on the 234.8!! Can't wait until you change that ticker!

jdonato ~ Just stay on track and don't give up! Stick with what you are doing! And how fun to be shopping for a new car!! Awesome!

k15g15 ~ Woo-hoo! Congrats!

fruitlady ~ I have a bad time with sugar, too. I once ate an entire box (an extra large box, at that) of Nerds candy. I just thought I'd have a handful but it was literally like I couldn't stop because the sugar was just going psycho in my body. No fun. Good luck to you!

Corinne ~ Welcome back from vacation! I hope you had a great time! That stinks about the no OT...keep your head up!

Nothing really new to report here -- weekends tend to be my kryptonite, so I am going to stay focused and determined to stay OP!

Came in under calories again!!! I think I may get on the scale tomorrow. See if my weight has changed because my measurements aren't really moving. I think it's because of the lack of exercise. I will be running errands and I'm going dancing tonight. Tomorrow will start floor exercising as not to increase my hunger.

I'll try checking in later so I can do personals but gotta get me and the little girl dressed for errands. Have a great day ladies!!
