PHAT- You can use any kind of fruit you want in the salad. When i made it yesterday i used, watermelon, strawberries, kiwi, grapes & blueberries. Just wash the fruit, cut it up in cubes or slices in a bowl or container and cover it. Refrigerate overnight. I like to leave it in overnight, all the fruit juices mix together and taste so good!
ann71- Thanks! Fruit fills me up pretty long, especially watermelon, pineapple & grapes. They have a high volume of water. Jiggle- Yay! 3lbs! Are you losing quicker now? What are you doing differently? I miss calculated how much i lost & how long it took, it's 9.5lbs now. Lost another 1.2lbs as of this morning. Took me 5 days of eating clean, totally worth it! Today is the sixth day of no processed junk food. Walked 30min & had 1226 calories. Can't walk to long anymore, my knees are getting worse. If I walk too long the right one gives out on me ( cartlidge issues). Had knee problems since I was 18yrs old. It's getting worse as I get older and I am very active. The fruit salad I made last night was delicious, it's almost gone again! |
Way to go Jiggle!

envelope ~ Good for you for reaching your c25k goal!!
ClaireBear ~ Welcome! Good luck! :) OhThePlaces ~ Welcome to you, as well! Sounds like you have a good plan. P H A T ~ Even if someone loses 0.2 pounds within a month that is a win, not a failure, and you are doing awesomely, so I am sure you'll be fine! jiggle ~ Awesome -- 3 pounds gone forever! fruitlady ~ Wow, that is amazing that you've lost the 9.5 pounds that quickly! Wish I could do that! I weighed in 2 pounds heavier today than I weighed on Saturday, but I ate a lot of crap over the weekend, so I am really hoping that this starts going away soon! I ate wayyyy too much sugar and I'm seeing it on the scale these past two days....grrrr!! Oh well...hafta keep moving forward! :) |
Good Morning My favorite online crew,
I'm doing really well. Having big fun and staying on plan. I got on the treadmill for 30 minutes last night and ended the day at 1200 calories. YAY!! K15g15 - Thanks!! Fruitlady - I lost really well last week because I ate VERY few carbs. My body responds very positively to protein. So I eliminated as many carbs as I could to see how my body responded. Well LOOKIE LOOKIE it prefers more protein. My doctor was saying he thinks I have a low tolerance for carbs which could explain why I wasn't losing weight. I was toggling up and down with the same 5 pounds. Ann71 - I love it...the cookies weren't that good. We did a seafood dinner and the rest of the day was very light. My husband said, "Now this is a Father's Day I will always remember...instead of going to a seafood restaurant, my wife made all my favorites." I did really well if I say so myself. Let's make today a great day!! |
Fruitlady and Jiggle: Congrats to you both! I'm very happy and proud of you :)
Unfortunately my body didn't respond to the low carbs this time. I only lost 2lbs :( I didn't gain, but still I was planning on being at 132 by now, and working from there. The lowest I saw was 137. *sigh* I'm still working on my eating and not giving up. I'm slowly reintroducing my fruit and bread into my diet. I changed the bread I use to sprouted whole grains. And I'm really watching my sugar intake. One step at a time. Still doing Alli, and I love it. The only negative is I don't experience any of the "treatment effects". Which to most that would be good, but for me, I find myself not caring if I go over my fat grams here and there because I'm not experiencing the repercussions. But it's teaching me a great life-style change. I do stay within my 12grams of fat per meal, and I'm trying to choose snacks that are 3.5 grams of fat or less. Also I've cut down dramatically on my red meat, maybe to once a week if not less. I don't use creamer in my coffee anymore, they do have fat free, but due to the process sugars, I've switched to the vanilla splenda, and only have 1 packet of those. This is taking way longer than I thought, and I'm getting very tired and unmotivated :( Emme: I'm right there with you! Due to father's day and my dad being gone, the way my famiy dealt with it was drinking alot after a heavy dinner so all that sugar is getting to me too. You and I can do it! we will make it through this together! PHAT:  I'm very proud of you :) You are a very strong woman and you deserve it! Sorry to cut this short ladies but I'm at work. I will try and get on later. Have a great day :) |
Keep up the good work ladies!!

Emme- thank you!
jiggle- You have found what your body needs to lose weight, sometimes that takes a while. But now you know and your on your way to success! By the way, my body responds to more protein also, but I don't need to cut carbs too low, only about 30-40g a day & I eat alot of carbs! jdonato- Hang in there, are you trying to eat the same as before when you lost weight? Maybe your eating differently. I found that going back to basics & knowing what works is the best way. After maintaining for so long, sometimes you change your eating habits & it's hard to get back to the real grind of things. Good luck, keep us posted. This is day the 6th day eating on plan, gained 3oz , not worried, it's normal to fluctuate. Walked 32min. briskly & did hills as always, it's getting easier since my weight is coming down. It's not so hard on my knees when my weight is lower, but they still bother me. Had 1260 cal. Baked a banana cake, used substitutions to make it lower cal, sodium & fat. It wasn't as good, but it wasn't frosted yet when I had a piece. I'm making peanut butter frosting later, then I might be in trouble! |
I'm new here, sorry if I'm late on this challenge.
I'll keep it short and sweet: Goal - to stay at 1200 calories per day. It's not too hard (I'm not a very hungry person), but I am going to miss my Italian and Mexican dishes. I know my boyfriend will too. hahah |
Welcome Aries!!

Morning all!
I've been doing well OP the past few days, so nothing to really add there! My mother's birthday is coming up on Saturday and I plan on making her strawberry shortcake (homemade, with biscuits- the only way to do it!) as it's her favorite. Wish me luck on being OP that day, ha! Aries- Welcome! Fruit- High five! And that banana cake sounds so good...mmm, peanut butter frosting...yep, I'd be in trouble! Jdon- That's unfortunate about the low carb. I'm starting to notice slower weight loss, too- it's hard to adjust, that's for sure. I used to hit 2 pounds per week no problem but something tells me that's not happening this time! Interesting that you're not having Alli symptoms. I'm certain that if I tried it, it would cause me problems because I have a sensitive system. Reading about "oily discharge" is what put me off of it, haha. I'm glad to hear it's working well for you though! Keep it up! Jiggle- You're doing fantastically! Keeping me motivated! Emme- That's the attitude to have- got to keep on pushing. What's in the past is in the past. Welcome to the other new challengers, too! Sorry if I missed anyone! |
Good morning!
Had another on plan day. I'm surprised by the amount of energy I have since I've decreased my carbs. The only carbs I really get are the ones that are naturally in fruits and veggies. I never thought I'd see the day that I didn't miss bread of any kind, rice or pasta. They don't even tempt me. I had given up refined sugars and white foods a while back. I do have brown rice and whole wheat pasta on occasion but not too frequently. I'm hoping to be down three more pounds this week. I am doing less intense workouts like walking on the treadmill at 3.0 and toning exercises. I'm going to get to my goal yet. Corinne - Thanks. I try not to have too many down days. You are doing pretty well though. Ekicna - Thanks for the encouragement. Aries - Welcome. It's still almost two weeks left so you can make some good progress. Fruitlady - Very true about the hills. When I first started it was difficult to walk on the treadmill at an incline. It has gotten much easier...haven't done any outdoor uphill walking but I'm going to see about that in the fall. It's been too hot in Georgia to go outside for me. JD - I know how you are feeling. I had been going through a lot of trial and error until I decided to go see my doctor and he helped me understand what works for my body. Maybe you should try seeing your doctor and see how things go from that perspective. I refused to give up even though the people around me thought I had quit my journey but I hadn't, I was just trying to find what would work for me. JUST A THOUGHT!! |
Jiggle: Thanks and congrats! Yes I notice I do have more energy when I eat less refine sugars and reduce starches. I'm sure i'll find what works for me. I have a question for you and for frutilady also...how do you guys cut out refine sugars? as in what trigger ingredients do you look for that makes you not eat it?
Corinne: Good luck with your mom's bday and you are doing great! I'm sorry but I have to be a little graphic so you will understand. I do have the "oil discharge" in my stool, but it's not all the time, and that is how you can tell your body is getting the fat out. It's not bad, infact I don't notice any difference when I have to use the rest room. I don't have the crazy side effects of spotting or anything crazy when I can't make it to the bathroom. It's whenever I'm able to use the rest room and if I can go great if not, then I can wait. No cramps or bloating. I feel no difference, so the discharge once in a while doesn't bother me because I feel completely normal. Do you know what I mean? fruitlady: I ate the same as I did before, but this time I was even healthier, becaue I watched my calories and fat intake. Before when doing phase 1 I just eat as much as I wan't as long as it wasn't bread, starches, and sugar and I lost alot. So I don't know. I am going back to the basics now by eating as natural as possible. The good thing from it is i'm watching my sugars. I ask you the same question as I do jiggle about what you cut out. and nice job on the weightloss! Very proud of you :) Did my weekly weighin this morning for Alli and I was 137.2. According to the website i've been losing an average of 1.49lbs a week. eh not great but it's something. I know I have to exercise, but I'm still an active person, with softball, walking everywhere and all the cleaning and household stuff I do. Feeling good today, and we will see if I'm really good today what the scale says tomorrow! Good luck ladies and lets have an OP DAY! |
Thanks all for the welcome!
|
I am 0.8 lbs away from my goal. Then I definitely need to start exercising more. I cannot be thin and flabby. That is just unacceptable.
Happy Hump Day!! |
Just stopping in to say hello to everyone. Welcome, Aries! It sounds like everyone is doing great. Happy Hump Day!
