Good Morning Everyone ,

Fit4, hope you enjoyed the movie :)

P H A T I find that when I'm out in the heat and I have drank a ton of water it does make you nauseous ... I try to have some type of snack handy to compensate for all that swishing around ... good for you on getting out, a start is a start :)

Thanks jiggle my family loves stuffed shells also. I know what you mean about having good snacks handy. I often have them and don't want what I have, can't win sometimes :)

Have a great OP day Everyone!

Emme 06-08-2011 09:21 AM

Just popping in to say good morning! I hope you all have a great OP day today! :)

Amberelise 06-08-2011 10:52 AM

Hi all. On plan yesterday, even with a brownie that I'm pretty sure was 400 calories. This means I didn't have that great of a day nutrition wise...

I promised a friend I'd do lunch with her today. She has coupons, so the choice of venue can't be changed. I'm thinking the grilled shrimp salad is my best bet. Thoughts? http://www.dosdiabloschicago.com/men...blosLunch.html

That does look good! Sounds like a good option to choose.

Hi everyone. Well my whoosh never came after TOM, instead I gained a few pounds :?: I'm assuming it's because I haven't been drinking enough water, cuz I've been on plan with everything else. I'm gonna try to drink more water today and see what happens. I've also been stressed the past few days so that could have something to do with it too. I have my Praxis PLT exam Saturday morning, plus summer classes just started and both of my teachers seem to be scatterbrained and not very organized. Thank God I don't have work during the summer. Hope everyone is having a good week!

Hi everybody...headed to the stairs to do some glut stuff...so not much time to speak. Umm....the movie kicked @$$!!!!!! I love Jack Sparrow, no matter what crappy movie he appears in, I will go watch it. But this movie was far from crappy and I thought it would be because I read the reviews and a lot of people didn't like it and blah blah blah BUT for me? A delight from start to finish. I am down to 234.6 and I am feeling good, so going back to daily weighing was def the right choice, if I'm up in weight I feel like I need to work out b/c I'm a fatty, but if I am down, I feel revved up to see another loss and I want to work out...either way, I want to work out all the more!

My eating at the movie was great, 3-100 calorie choco bars and a junior popcorn only a smattering butter, I wouldn't have got the popcorn at all but it was free so I was like, "eh...let's do it"

PHAT I am so proud of you for getting back out there, the economy is tough, but I'm sure somebody will see your amazing talents and pick you right up

LiveLaughLove TOM  works in mysterious up that water for a few days and it will go back down

love2b150 Thank you the movie was awesome, BTW we have the same goal weight, 150...good weight ;)

Emme Have a good OP day too huney!!!

Amberelise you're already ahead of the game pre-planning your meal, you rock girl!!!

Okay girls, I'm off! Keep it OP and if you can't, oh well...there's always tomorrow!!!! Hugs and Kisses!!!

mzKiki 06-08-2011 01:34 PM

I always gain during my TOM but this month I decided to drink lots of water and work out. I lost 0.4 lbs by running on the treadmill yesterday. Maybe that could help you. Hang in there!

jdonato 06-08-2011 03:35 PM

Afternoon ladies,

woke up this morning, skipped my morning workout which was ok because I needed the rest. I want to do this on my own terms, not go crazy and make it work.

I weighed in this morning at 139.8, still dont know why I haven't lost more weight. This is starting to piss me off. it's as if the SB Phase 1 is doing nothing.

jiggle: thanks :) and nice job with your friend coming for dinner. 140 over is nothing and i'm very proud of you.

mzkiki: welcome!

love2b150: thanks :hug:I'm not starting the SB diet just doing phase 1. I have done it in the past and loved the diet when I stuck to it. I already had healthy eating from my Alli plan, I'm doing phase 1 as a cleanse and a depuff trying to get past my 135 mark. I seem to not be able to get below 139.4 so we will see. congrats on the 3lb loss!

Fit: great job at the movies! You kick major but! :carrot:

Live Laugh Love: Right there with ya, and good luck with your classes and your exam! School is so hard and I don't miss it. If you need anything let me know :)

P H A T: I'm very proud of you for getting back on that job search horse so fast. You are doing amazing and you will find a great company who will be lucky to have you very soon :) I'm still praying for you!

Fruitlady: It has been my experience with low starch diets, foods, etc. that once I go off the eating plan, I puff up a few lbs, and yes it's easily lost if I go back to that eating plan. The reason is water weight and adding carbs back to the diet after a stint of low-carb dieting can cause a "yo-yo" effect if done too fast or incorrectly. Carbs can cause the body to overcompensate by storing large amounts of body fat. Your body is absorbing that water and fat from the starches and carbs and storing it right away. so eating the cake or starches will make you gain because your body isn't used to it since you've been eating clean for awhile. One way to break that cycle is to slowly add in a starch here and there. stay within your calories but add a potato one day a week. do that for a couple of weeks, then add some bread. so your body isn't shocked from the instant fix and make you gain. I hope that helps. I'm sure you probably already know all of this and i'm sorry.

Day 3 on Phase 1 and I feel good, I'm feeling full but not happy with the weight loss. for lunch I had Low Sodium, organic red pepper soup, and a taco salad made with Boca Soy Crumbles, black beans, garbanzo beans, organic homemade salsa from the farmer's market, and I used fat free fage greek yogurt instead of sour cream, fat free cheese, and tomatoes. Mind you this was all in moderation of ingredients and counted out. We will see tomorrow if the scale gods reward me. I know i'm a couple of days before TOM but I still should be losing something here.

Well i have to get back to work. I hope everyone has a wonderful evening!

fruitlady 06-08-2011 10:03 PM

jiggle- thanks, I love watermelon.

jdonato- Thank you, actually had a feeling that's what it was, but I don't eat low carb, so i don't understand. I probably eat more carbs than anyone one 3FC! About 240-280g. a day, all from fruit and yogurt. I get too tired & run out of energy if I don't eat enough carbs. Any thoughts? Thanks again

Walked 30min this morning, very hot & humid weather. Had 1254 calories, only 54 over limit. Ate some extra fruit, not worried about it. Lost 7 oz. hopefully more tomorrow, this water bloat gotta go!

k15g15 06-08-2011 11:07 PM

Love2b150- I am going with your advice. As of today I am cycling my calories. 1220 for today, hopefully I will kick the scale in the butt again! :)

jigglefree 06-09-2011 08:29 AM

Good morning. I had a great on plan day yesterday. I think I'm doing pretty good. I will find out come Saturday. I didn't have my last snack last night because I took a hot bath and went to bed. So glad I did. I actually slept very well not having that evening snack. Which kept me below my calorie limit!!!
Fruitlady - How much water are you drinking? When I'm feeling really bloated I have to drink at least 3 liters of water to flush it out. But with the fiber you are taking in it should be flushing anyway. Just some thoughts. I remembered that you used to talk about how much you loved watermelon last summer so I thought you could try that.
JD - You know what I'm thinking, even though you have done this before your body could be adjusting to the changes. Sometimes you do something that works and change then you go back to the thing that worked and your body takes some time to respond.
Mzkiki - :welcome3:
Fit - Good job at the movies and keep those workouts going and you will be seeing huge losses.
LIVE - Stress will sometimes cause you to retain water and it cause you to build up fat as well. So take a relaxing moment for yourself during the day and you will find that helps a whole lot.

I'm feeling pumped today. It will be a great day. We are going to do our plans and do them well!!

jdonato 06-09-2011 09:58 AM

woke up this morning and the scale read 139.0. Yes it's my lowest but still not going below 139. This is BS...I know it's a process but not as slow as I was expecting. I feel like i'm doing everything right and expect greater results. I'm not exercising like I should be I understand that but I move alot! At work I try to walk as much as I can, and at home I barely sit and watch tv i'm always cleaning and doing laundry or something. Regardless I'm not giving up, because I am losing weight, and making better changes to my life so still going to fight through this. TOM should be any day now, so after that if I poof down a few lbs then i'll be happy.

Jiggle: thanks, and that maybe the issue, but even so with how I was eating before and how I"m eating now and moving around, I should be losing more. Congrats on your OP day, and a hot bath sounds great! Keep up the great work and thank you for all your support :)

k15g15: good luck with the cycling and you will kick that scale's butt!

fruitlady: I've been thinking about you all night and morning, because I completely understand where you are coming from. so, I'm doing some research for you. I think it's great you are eating alot of carbs, and the fruit it's very healthy. Also, and please don't take this negative in anyway, for your age, height, and weight you are very healthy and in great shape! I said the age thing because of what you posted previously, no disrespect, I dont' think your old :) lol It's very difficult to keep eating clean, especially with all the crap that's out on the market. Keep up the great work!

Day 4 of Phase 1.

For lunch I made chopped eggplant, chicken, black bean, onion in red curry sauce . The curry sauce is low calorie, sugar, and fat. I'm trying to do new things. I used the Swanson's chunk light 97% fat free chicken, it was only 70 calories and 1g of fat, plus low sodium. I wanted the extra protein.

For dinner I'm planning on having the Trader Joe's chili lime chicken burgers, and using sliced grilled eggplant as my bun, then adding 1/4 avacado, a tbsp of fage 0% greek yogurt, and the fresh salsa. Trying to add some zucchini for extra veggies.

I wish everyone luck today and hopefully we all have a great loss!

Emme 06-09-2011 10:30 AM

Fruitlady ~ I hope your water bloated-ness (is that a word? LOL!) goes away soon! :)

k15g15 ~ Good luck with calorie cycling -- it's nice not to have to stick with just one specific number, but to shake it up a bit! :dizzy:

jiggle ~ It's awesome that you had a great OP day yesterday! :carrot:

jdonato ~ I'm the same way...I get bothered by weight if I don't lose what I thought I was going to lose, but you have a great attitude...just keep on going and push through! :)

WI day for me is tomorrow. I'm really hoping I see a 173. I've been 173.2 and 173.8 for the past two days, so I'm really keeping my fingers crossed! I hope everyone has a great day!
