Hey everyone, the power came back on Monday and I've been working my a$$ off haling big chunks of tree trunks and brush and things like that. Our yard was also covered with vinyl siding, but not a single house in my neighborhood has vinyl siding, all brick and wood houses! Tornados are crazy!

Mom's car is in the shop as of yesterday and the insurance people are coming to look at the carport and fence today. Dorian (my dog) is doing much better -- for a while there he refused to go outside because he was terrified, but he was too much of a gentleman to go in the house. I was worried about him. But he started going out now and we even went for a fairly long jog yesterday before he started getting upset.

I ate and ate and ate all weekend, I had 3 (THREE!) meals from McDonald's -- including a steak, egg and cheese bagel that was like a religious experience. We also had southern pulled pork BBQ and fried chicken and pizza... It was awesome and kind of disgusting at the same time, I noticed my energy was waaaay down. But my mother's work delivered a tray of cheese and lunch meat and a veggie tray, so I started getting some healthy food in Sunday night. :)

On Friday I weighed 130.6lbs... I weigh 131lbs as of this morning. Which is amazing, I thought I would be up at least 2lbs. But I guess I worked so hard with yard work that I didn't gain so much. :D

4 days until I weigh in on Easter morning!! I hope I can knock this pound off by then! :carrot: After I weigh in I'm going to eat a Cadbury egg.

Thanks everyone for the well wishes and I'm so glad to see everyone closing in on their goals!

Good morning Easter Bunny-Chicks!!
I felling pretty good today. I have not worked out yet but my lunch is reserved for me, the treadmill and some kettle bells. I think I want to peek at my measurements. But I haven't. It's a rainy day today but the good thing is I don't have a window in my cube so I can't see and there's not opportunity for me to let that zap my energy!!!

Dorian - Glad to hear the power's back on and you fared well with your weight. Welcome back.
Northern - How did the Zumba workout go?
Ekicna - See measuring is good!!! Some progress somewhere is encouraging.
Pochamma - Sometimes peeking gives you a little more reason to stay on task..just to see how far you can push yourself to get more.
Fit - I know everyday counts but sometimes by midweek there is a crisis. So far so good though.
Fruitlady - How was the interview?

Let's make today a positive productive healthy day!!! :carrot::carrot:

A minor victory last night, my husband offered to bring home fast food to help me out, so I didn't have to make supper (I know it may seem like sabotage, but he was honestly just trying to help). I told him that would be great, but just to get for him and the kids, and I would pull one of my pre-made meals out of the freezer, and I did. Chicken Veggie Casserole, with green beans was what I had. YAY!

I got on the scale this morning because today is exactly 1 month since I got serious (after the kids were so sick in February, and I went off plan), and I wanted to know how much I had lost in the month, but it seems that with my walking (since I hadn't done it in almost a week) and a few pushups that I tried, I am holding some water, because I am up 1.4lbs from my weigh in on Sunday. I know I shouldn't have gained since I have been completely on plan, so I am figuring it must be water. I weighed in at 283 on March 20, so I know I have lost at least 14lbs, so I can't complain.

If we hadn't spoken before, and somewhat frequently, I might tend to agree. But I just don't get the feeling he was. However, if he was, that's certainly flattering. :)

And to what that guy said about you gaining weight from weight lifting...not so true. Yes muscle weights more than fat but us as women don't have enough testosterone to gain muscle like the guys do, so you will never be bodybuilding style and gaining weight like that. the most will be initial 5lbs maybe from water retention and after a period of time it will go down and be normal and the muscle will burn more calories and help you lose more weight. I hope this helps.

Don't forget, take out typically = sodium so some of what you are up can more than likely be attributed to water weight. And seriously, your BF is such a nice guy! Very sweet of him to cheer you up. Congrats on the continued loss!!! :cb:

When I first started lifting, I would go in when it was mostly dead but after just a few days, I started going in when it was a little more busy. Now I look forward to my "weight lifting buddies" being there when I am. It's nice to chat since it's not the same atmosphere as cardio (when I'm on my equipment, leave me alone...I can barely breathe, how the heck do you think I'm going to talk to you??? :D) and I've actually stopped wearing my headphones while lifting so I'm more available to do so. I'm surprisingly not intimidated when lifting. I'm impressed by what the guys can do, no doubt, but I now lift the most weight of any of the women I see in there. I want to get cut! By the time I'm done, the Linda Hamilton of Terminator 2 will have nothing on me! :p

Thanks! It would have been better had the Rockies won but it was still a pretty good time. Hope the interview went well!

Good! Met the guys I went with for a beer before the game and had 2 inside. Wanted so badly to get some Monster Chicken Nachos (or as I refer to them, Nacho Heaven) or a funnel cake. Even stood in line for the funnel cake with my money out! But in the end I had enough sense to walk away! :cheer2: Can't say I had that much sense when I got home. :(

Hope you are feeling better and congrats on the loss!!! :cb:

Dorian5 - Glad to hear that the recovery efforts are going well.

OhMyDogs - Congrats on the good choice and the loss!!! :cb:

Well as I mentioned, I didn't do so hot last night. I binged. :( I let actual hunger turn into a binge and I know exactly how. But since I know how, when that situation presents itself again, I can recognize and avoid it. No need to dwell, back on plan with lots of water today, moving on!

Super excited today because I found a softball team and our first practice and game is tonight!!! :cheer2: Assuming it doesn't get rained out that is. I so hope it doesn't cause I am really looking forward to it. Not just for the fun of the game but the opportunity to add some activity to my life. I'm a busy gal and work out regularly but I don't feel like I'm really an active person. It will be nice to change that. Was reminded of a very funny story yesterday. I posted on FB that I had joined a team and my HS softball coach commented on my status that I shouldn't bunt. I commented back that I didn't remember being a bad bunter. I got home from the ballgame and she had commented back, "Weren't you the one that got hit by the pitch when you squared to bunt?" I was in stitches! I did, right in the pelvic area! Sooooooo embarrassing to be reminded of that! :o

Don't have a plan set out for today because it's all up in the air. I may meet my girlfriend for lunch but if I do, I will be super good. Promise! ;) If not, something sensible and light is in order. Cause I want to have my spaghetti squash for dinner! :D So I figure I can do something light for lunch then eat an early dinner to give my stomach time to settle before practice. I'm not going to workout if we don't get rained out tonight but if we do, it should be cancelled early enough that I can still make it to the gym and get a full weight lifting and cardio workout in. Otherwise, softball will be my workout today! :cb:

A great Wednesday to all my 3FC friends!!!

Fit4Lyfe 04-20-2011 12:09 PM

pochamma10 You are rocking this week girl!!! And yea, HH can be a killer, I try to keep it to 1 or 2 a week and stick to 1 or 2 clear drinks...or just a pineapple juice with a but of vodka or something like that.

Ekicna WOO HOO!!! That's a 1/2 inch off your body

NorthernExposure I reeeeaaally want to try zumba, I don't have a Wii and I really don't have the room for it in my room, my old house has small rooms

Dorian5 I'm glad everything is getting back on track and I wouldn't even be worried about what you ate, sometimes dieting takes a back seat. I'm glad you're feeling better

OhMyDogs WTG, an awesome NSV!!!

manders01 I want to start lifting, but I am going to wait until after bootcamp is over in June...I don't want to get "cut" I do want to get slimmer in my arm area and my calves too...I want to be able to wear cute boots next year! I'm also working on developing my gluteus maximus...I want a big butt :D And I am looking for a softball team, I played from 6th grade to sophomore year college and I want to try out for the team at my new college so I could use the practice.

Well I had a pretty good day yesterday: I did both my workouts (including the stairs, which I had to cut short) and I had an NSV at a Burger King after my interview. I had to eat something and it was the only thing I saw, and I ordered a salad with chicken...I got the honey mustard dressing and man, never again! That junk has like almost 300 calories in one 2oz packet!!! I only ate a few squirts and threw the rest away. I had ice cream too, as a reward because I got hired!!! So I'll be working in a very active job all summer, so pretty excited about that. I weighed in at 238.8 this morning, a number I am tired of seeing, so it's time to kick it up today!!! Only 4 more days!!I

ETA: I also vote for Memorial Day as our next CC challenge...it's a good 5 or 6 weeks, depending on how you count it

Hello, pretties. I have had a busy day today, been getting caught up on a boatload of work that came in this morning, so I am stuck to my desk & I'll pretty much be shackled until 3:30pm.

I'm feeling wishy washy today.. lol technically, I've been better. We had a huge storm system that came through Kentucky last night around 12:30am && my little sister was freaking out! LOL she always gets looney during storms & I have no idea why. She came over my house & once the tornado warning sirens started blaring, she started jumping & crying! I thought I was gonna have to slap the sh*t out of her  .. lol The winds & rain were harsh for about 10 minutes, but the storm passed, we had no damage & no problems with electricity, thank God .. so basically I said all that to say I didn't get into bed until around 1:30am & I woke right back up at 5:30 for work ... Right now I'm feeling a bit sluggish ..

But in better news, my niece has officially reached the 3lb mark. She has 1 & 1/2 more lbs to gain before she can come home. She has her weight goals just like us!!!

You ladies have a magnificent day.

k15g15 04-20-2011 01:13 PM

Dorian- Glad to hear that things are getting better in your neck of the woods.

Phat- What a little precious angel!

Fit- The dressings at BK and McDs are definately not calorie friendly, I usually give mine to my son for his nuggets...

The last day with kids before Easter break and they are a little crazy and so am I!

I am thinking thin thoughts for everyone!

OhMyDogs 04-20-2011 04:45 PM

I love this time of year, when all the fruits and veggies are starting to go on sale. Not quite as much as I love summer, when there's all the summer fruits, but still, cheap yummy/healthy food is ok in my books!

fruitlady 04-20-2011 08:02 PM

jiggle- it went ok, now I'm waiting for a backround check to be done. I hope they call me.
phat- you know i just love your attitude & personality, sounds like we are alot alike with the way we think. Glad your niece is doing good, what a sweetheart she is!

Did good today, had 1400 calories, right at my limit. Did 45min of exercise, even though i ate too much yesterday, I still lost another pound. Yea, now watch the scale go up tomorrow instead. It can & does happen to me alot! I'm looking forward to Easter, I want to enjoy it, so no eating limits for me! Gotta enjoy life even though your watching your weight. I'll get right back on track the day after!

TiredOfGettingBigger 04-20-2011 10:59 PM

So we are on the last week stretch and I have to go and get sick.... I have a head cold and I'm finding it hard to exercise and eat right. Still managed to lose a pound but I know it could have been two if I was running..... One more pound to go..... Will I make it? Hope sp. Phat the baby is so cute.... Northern I too am curious if you did the 45 mins and survived...lol. I will chat with you all later...

Missjessica 04-21-2011 03:53 AM

Good morning slim chicks! I've been MIA for a few days as I've been fighting with my scale. I eat in cal range, work out, and generally am good - and the reward? Back up to 153. For the past week or two I think. Thank you digital machine... :p I was fed up and frustrated because that's the weight I can maintain without working my rear off! I came to throw in the challenge towel last night, but after reading everyone's post, I got a huge dose of inspiration and motivation and re-worked a new plan :) I also did mucho exercise last night in the sun and it literally brightened my day :goodvibes I don't think a whoosh big enough can come for me to make my goal, but I bring it down from what it is today! Thanks ladies!

pochamma10 04-21-2011 07:15 AM

Hi ladies! Happy Thursday (it's my Friday, whooopie!) to all! This is a super quick post as I am swamped at work today but wanted to let you all know that I weighed in at 245.96 this morning, so I did make it to my 3 lbs lost goal and am down 9.9 lbs since April 1! Have a great day everyone!

NorthernExposure 04-21-2011 09:50 AM

Pochamma: It's my Friday too, yay!

Jessica: glad you're back on track :)

Tired and Jiggle: Yes, I did the 45 minutes of zumba! Had to modify some of the moves toward the end of the workout as my knees were starting to hurt (lots of "twisty" moves), but 45 minutes of dancing goes by WAY faster than 45 minutes on the elliptical! The only bad part is I was hungry afterwards and went about 75 calories over yesterday. Oh well. I have a pretty low cal day planned for today, so I'll make up for it.

Fruit: good luck with the job and yes, enjoy your Easter!

Dogs: I agree! can't wait to make yummy fruit bowls this summer!

Phat: she's a fighter, that one!

Fit: doesn't that suck about honey mustard?? It's one of my faves, but so high in calories (unless it's a low cal version like the kind at subway. But that stuff is not nearly as good as the fattening stuff at KFC!)

Manders: hope your softball game was a go!

Dorian: glad to hear the situation is improving there!

As for me: I've had a pretty good week this week and hope to finish strong today before my official WI tomorrow. I saw 179.9 last Saturday, hope it sticks! I'm so excited at the prospect of starting a new decade! I'm also really excited to get done with work today and start my long weekend! I have a feeeling today is going to go painfully slooooow though.

P H A T 04-21-2011 10:46 AM

good morning honeybees. :)

k15g15 ~ thank you so much! :) she's a sweetie pie! lol && yes, PLEASE think thin thoughts for me! I was a total binger last night!

OhMyDogs ~ 100% agree with you on the fresh fruits & veggies. I have been wanting fresh corn on the cob lately & the stores have finally gotten some beautiful corn in .. I love spring & summer fruits & veggies! :p

fruitlady ~ thanks, doll :) I find it way less occupying to be positive than to whine & be negative all the time [which is how I was before] it feels so much better to find the beauty & positivity in things !! oh & no Easter eating limits for me neither! :p

TiredOfGettingBigger ~ Im sorry youre not feeling well, but youre still doing such a good job. seems like everyone gets sick during the weather change, so I understand your grief with that! Just keep going :)

Missjessica ~ aren't our bodies freaking weird? sometimes it seems like when you have a wonderful week with good eating & exercise, you end up gaining! & when you're being a total heffer, you end up losing! LOL .. weird I know, but seriosuly, its probably water retention.. keep up the good work, youre doing beautifully

pochamma10 ~ :carrot: congrats on making your goal ~~ :carrot:

NorthernExposure ~ yes , she's fighting & winning.. Im so proud of her! && good luck with the loss.. :)

today is going regularly, have more work to catch up on but Im doing alright.. I ate like 6 of the Keebler Cheesecake middle cookies last night  .. I wanna say I feel guilty, but I really dont.. LOL I dont plan on doing that again, .. I gave the rest of the cookies away & everything to keep myself from eating anymore ... Easter is gonna be a tough one though, since I LOVE candy && Any holiday with candy is my favorite ;; including Easter [thank you, pagans for that]..lol .. I want to by myself a milk chocolate bunny, but Im debating whether I want to get the hollow one [boooo] .. or the SOLID one [yayy] ... or neither  ... decisions, decisions!

Ladies have a beautiful day. :)
