Ok so I am 162lb as of today and will be going to 1,400 cal and 45 min elliptical 3 days a week which on average burns 400 cal at the intensity that I do taking in the account 30% over estimation of cardio machines.
Stalled at 164lb at 1,500 cal and could not loose more so lovering now.
I'm 32 years old, 5'4.5" (that half an inch matters!), and presently 268.3 lbs. I just started calorie counting about two weeks ago in my first-ever serious attempt at losing weight. I'm averaging about 1350 calories per day with 20% calories from fat, and I'm definitely losing (about 12.5 lbs. since Jan 3, and 7.5 lbs. in the last two weeks). I am a little worried that I'm working with too few calories/day at present (and too little fat), even though it doesn't feel like I'm eating too little, but I don't want to get stuck later and need to go even lower. Hopefully I'll figure out what works best for me over the next month or so. If anyone has any advice though, I'll gladly take it.
I am not exercising regularly at present, and I know that will need to change. Controling my eating was goal #1 and exercise comes next.
I am 24, 5'4, and 207 pounds. I am currently taking in 1650 calories a day. I work out five days a week for 30-60 minutes, resting on Saturday and Sunday.
i am 31 5'4 (i think) i currently weigh 329.8, lost roughly 5 pounds this week, my goal is just staying under 2000, with the exception of a couple of days this week i have been 1100-1300..minimal exercise
I am 5'8", 239 lbs, and consume 1600 calories. To maintain my weight, I can eat 2727. Making it a deficit of 1,127 calories a day, 7,889 a week (2 lbs).

Update:
1,400 cal got me from 162lb to 154lb in about 2 months.
Now stalled at 154lb for a couple of weeks so I am going to try to eat 1,300 cal.
I also work out now 3-4 times a week of 1 hour weights at the gym and 30-45 min cardio 3 times a week.
I am 24 and 165.5 as of this morning. I calorie count and try to stay between 1500-1600 cals/day with one cheat meal a week (however I still count my cheat meal and usually don't go over 2,200 cals that day). I will probably lower my cals to 1400-1500 when I get back into the 150's and lower from there as needed. I am fairly active as a have a 2 year old son, but I don't have a formal workout routine yet.
I'm 5'2", 151 lbs, 25 years old; I average 1300 calories/day and work out 5-6 times per week for 45 mins - 1 hr (recently started). I've been losing on average 2 lbs/week recently. I'm definitely going to up my calories to 1400/day soon and possibly higher than that if I'm still losing. I do the Belly Fat Cure as well so I'm keeping my carbs around 90-100 grams/day (total, not net) and I think that's been more responsible for my loss than the restricted calories, so upping my calories is going to kind of test that hypothesis.
5'10, 170, and I eat anywhere from 1000 - 1600 calories a day. I work out 4-5 days a week and I've been losing weight pretty comfortably.
I'm also 19. And yes, I know I might get some backlash for eating 1000 calories, but this happens less than once a week, and it's on days where I seriously just stay home and lounge around. I don't force myself to eat this little, but on some days thats all my body needs.
Great thread! I just started calorie counting today and was going to start at 2000 calories but after dinner I am at 1450.. so I am thinking of doing 1500-1700 since it seems I can do it and hopefully it will help drop the weight a little quicker
That's awesome! I was eating around 2000 calories a day for my first 40 lb loss. Then I started stalling and quit tracking and got off track and went to Atkins. Now I am back and planning on 1500-1900 myself and see what works for me. Every BODY is different so a different amount of calories for weight loss is normal.
