Amelia I Too took the vitamins ~Biotin IS what I took and it kept it from coming out so bad but once I tried the Walmart brand rogaine Equate~I no longer take the vitamin~Anyways~Within 4 months I felt like a new me & looked like it too! hair regrew. It is worth every penny I swear! Regular rogaine at walmart was like 43.00 plus tax or so for a 90 day supply & the Walmart brand had the exact same ingredients and my dermatolgist told me they both worked as good as the other...And it is less than half the price for 90 day suppy it is like 19.96 plus tax~anyways~I feel like I have hair again up there & I do ~if I can find pics & will show u ~I took some before pics when I had long hair of the top of my head The day before I began use.So I will look them up for ya ~but I got a busy day So I will post them ASAP. & take an after pic too. The weight is coming off, actually faster than the last couple times. I know what to do now. My calories today were 1287, I won't let this new discovery give me permission to overeat more. I started jogging today w/ my power walk, I missed it so much, it felt great. Now i hope my knee won't give me a problem, that's why i stopped. My knee felt much better when I stopped jogging for a while, but I like it too much, I am doing it everyday. We also walked briskly up two huge, steep hills. I told my husband I was going to run him into the ground( just joking w/ him) but he actually liked the motivation it gave him to work harder. No more slacking for me, no more walking everyday for 45 min. at 3.5mph w/ a few hills. I'm walking 4.5 mph, up hills & jogging from now on, when my hubby started going w/ me this spring, I slowed down to help him, I never went back to working out harder like I had been doing since I started March 2009 by mysef. Even through the whole winter!

Hey ladies!

Hope you are all having good weekends!

I got to my studio and spent a good few hours there on Thursday, got a painting started and did some sketching, which is unusual for me but it felt nice to get some rough ideas on paper.

Yesterday my mum took me shopping because I was in desperate need of a couple of new items - stuff is falling off me at the moment and I have not been feeling very confident! I got a skirt, 2 dresses and 2 tops for around $120 NZD, which is about $90 USD. Didn't think that was too bad and now I feel pretty good I have a few nice new basics to wear to work and such!

Tonight my mum is taking me and my boyfriend and sister and my dad of course out to dinner for my birthday. It was actually on October 2nd, but since they've been away, they wanted to make it up to me by taking us out. I'm a little worried about what to eat but I'm thinking about going for the fajita option - that way I can build my own fajita wrap and estimate what is in it.

Down to 74kg as of this morning as well! That's 163.1pounds. Yay! I might even get pretty close to my goal for this challenge!

Hey guys...

Just checking in from Wichita, flying back home tomorrow morning. Had a great time with my family here.

Haven't been eating the best though! As with most getaways, I'm just on a weird eating schedule...odd times, long times between meals, then not always the best choices. (KS BBQ is evil!) Going to have to kick it into high gear on Monday to undo the damage by WI day Friday. Plus, my b-day is Wed, so just hoping not to gain this week.

Oh well, life happens, right!?

Catch up with you all later!

rainbowstripe 10-24-2010 04:30 AM

Hey again... just checking in to keep myself accountable. I over-ate tonight at dinner and felt terrible. I still feel terrible. I used to eat like that all the time at restaurants and now of course I know I've learnt my lesson and won't do it again - but I still feel really bad about it. I felt full to the point of feeling sick. I still feel kind of unwell. I even went to the bathroom there because I thought I was going to throw up. And then I was tempted to throw up, but I knew that that could be the beginning of something bad and I never want to have a relationship like that with food where I think it's ok to purge. I know that it would be too easy for me to slip into a habit of doing something like that.

I ate only 500 calories before dinner but I think I easily ate over 1500 calories at dinner. My sister ordered dessert and I tried to resist but I had a few spoonfuls of her cheesecake. I just lost a bit of the control I've been so proud of for the past few months. I know I can just get back into my good habits now, but that doesn't make me feel any better about how guilty I feel right now. I'm so worried I will have undone my most recent loss. Sorry to vent guys.

I'm so excited! I've lost 5 pounds this week! I didn't expect to lose but 1 or 2. I did great all week but I did eat at Mc Donalds last night with the kids. I had an angus burger, small fry. I felt like crap after eating it but then again I always did even when I wasn't dieting. That fast food is just so unhealthy in every way. I've met my Nov 1 goal! Can't wait til we have another one, these little things keep me motivated!

fruitlady 10-24-2010 05:31 PM

Well, lost another half a pound yesterday, It's slowing down now. Had 1200 cal. today, I am getting tempted to eat junk and I'm not even hungry. What's up with that?? I had this after breakfast this morning, it was very filling, you guys should try this- stir in 1/4 cup of pure pumpkin with a 6oz. cup of vanilla yogurt and add some cinnamon. It's delicious!

jigglefree 10-24-2010 09:09 PM

Good evening. Got in a good workout. We did go tailgating and had SO much fun. I didnt' eat out of control though it was all you can eat and drink. I did have an alcoholic beverage and it was alcoholic. I had abourt 4.5 oz vodka and .5 oz of cranberry juice. We will be going again. It was $15 instead of $20. I stayed in my calories for the day. I think I will be close to a size 12 by next weekend...depending on whose size 12 I try to get in...LOL!!!

sandcar150 10-24-2010 09:11 PM

Wow! This thread got really busy since I've been here last. These last few days have been crazy, so I haven't been here to read all the posts. I promise to catch up tomorrow when my week should slow down and get back to normal.

I'm down another 1/2 pound. Yay! I'm also getting in all my exercise and staying within my 1300-1400 calories each day. This is the best I've done with both at the same time in a long, long time. I'm so grateful for this challenge and reading about everyone else's success and determination motivates me all the more. :D

Good morning ladies.
I'm doing well today and I will be working out after work and staying within my calorie range. I'm focused on getting into the clothes I got that are size 12. I got in some of them but boy are they uncomfortably tight. So I got WORK to do!!

Have a tremendous day everyone!

Fit4Lyfe 10-25-2010 10:57 AM

Whoa, I've been gone, but I weighed in at 241.8 yesterday and I also dropped down to 5 dedicated days of exercise and I think it's paying off. I won't make it to 235 but I know I'll make it to the 230's...have a good one ladies!

julesp313 10-25-2010 02:06 PM

Sucky weekend - I way overate. Getting back on track today though - went to the gym at 5:30, brought my lunch and snacks for the day, have dinner planned. It's AFTER dinner that it all goes in the toilet some days. Tonight I will get on my stationary bike for three minutes every time I reach for the fridge - either I'll get a good workout in or the threat of exercise will prevent me from eating! :)

Amelia - I used to have a protein shake after my workouts, but as I'm doing very light workouts right now, it seems like a lot of calories without much expenditure of energy! Once I get back to my harder workouts and start doing weights again, I'll definitely add back the post-workout shake.

bigmamatexas ~ I used to take water aerobics and loved it!

Lori ~ Your life sounds crazy! I'm exhausted just reading about everything you do. Your clothing find is awesome!

jiggle ~ your progress is awesome! I've started working arms as well, what kinds of things are you doing? The tailgate thing sounds like a lot of fun!

misspriss ~ glad to hear about your workouts being great!

fruitlady ~ sounds like everything is evening out for you, so great that you can run again!

jules ~ I'm the same way, I want to eat everything in sight after a hard workout. I've been trying to do my workouts later at night, less chance for snacking

rainbowstripe ~ I wouldn't beat yourself up over a birthday meal, if you can't celebrate your existence on the planet with no regrets, I'm not sure what you can do.

memoree ~ great job! Congrats!

sandcar ~ woot! Congrats!

As for me, I hit the top of my goal this morning, lets see if I can hold onto it and get to the lower side of my goal. I've been working out like crazy, but my food has been a little off. Looking at this week as a restart for food. I realized I hadn't any fresh fruit the last week and maybe that's what has had me off, so I stocked up last night and have a selection of melons and citrus sitting in my fridge.
The weather has turned here, went from sunny to cold and rainy so my outdoor "extras" like biking to the store are over.

My goals ~
see the mid 160's (163-167) ~ I'm at 166.9 now
log all calories (been lax about this) ~ on track with my online counter!

sandcar150 10-25-2010 04:09 PM

Hey ladies!

Can you believe we only have a week left on this challenge? Where did the time go?

I looked back on my calendar and just realized that I've lost 4 pounds since we began this challenge. Yay! Now, if I can just get under 170 by the end of it, I will be one happy camper. :)

JayLei, way to go on getting to the top of your goal! :carrot:

I haven't tried on my size 12 Lucky Brand jeans yet (which I wanted to fit into perfectly by Nov. 1st), but I will at the end of this challenge. I'm pretty sure they'll fit comfortably if I can knock off another 1.5 to 2 pounds.

How far has everyone else come so far during this challenge? I'm not just talking pounds lost, but inches or other non-scale victories you've made along the way.

Let's bring it on home for our final week!

rainbowstripe 10-25-2010 05:51 PM

sandcar Congrats on the loss! Keep it up!

JayLei It's more that I had already celebrated on my actual birthday (October 2) with a breakfast and dinner out and a party with a few drinks and cake, so this was just with my parents and felt superfluous as it was a few weeks after. But I have gotten over it. It was probably very minimal damage, if any, considering I had a few lower calorie days last week and one yesterday which probably made up for it!

~

I think I'm still losing! I don't want to get too excited, but I think I saw something like 73.8kg/162.7 pounds. Given that my goal for this challenge was 73kg/160.9pounds... I feel like I could almost make it there - except for the fact that TOM is due on Friday this week so that could frustrate me! I'm not going to worry myself too much though.
