    Quick chenk in for me. I got in my workout this morning. Some cardio + yoga. and I'm on plan with my eating too. BUT, i need some good vibes sent my way. This past week was a struggle with my eating. It was an emotional week and being an emotional eater...well. Wed,thurs and yesterday wasn't great Im going to try my hardest to break habits today

  • I'm writing off today without any real excuse except looming TOM, being stuck indoors with an ice pack and my leg elevated (trying to get this knee inflammation under control) and watching too many movies - I finally got to see Avatar, and I liked it!

    David, Krista - I overestimated the heat - it only hit 113 today!

    I live in Las Vegas. I just checked on Weather.com - it's 110 now (that's 7:30pm), tonight's LOW is 91, tomorrow's high is just 111. Thursday we're getting a cold snap - only 102! 102 all next weekend too. This is why I ride my horse at 6am on weekends and I don't leave the house much otherwise. But it's really only this scorching from around mid July to early September, and you just deal with it. We also usually get monsoon season in August - 100+ and RAIN, like tropical rain - it absolutely pours for an hour, everything floods (luckily not where I live but some parts of the valley) and then it stops. Spring and fall are absolutely fabulous - 80's, sunny, dry. It's all a trade off. And quite honestly, I will take 115 and 6% humidity over 75 and 90% humidity ANY day. I just can NOT stand humidity.
  • hi all - just a quickie check in and off to grocery shopping - now that the sun is down and it's cooling off. It was 90 in LA today - which is no Las Vegas! But still hot for me. And I managed to get in 105 min of exercise during the cool parts of the day
  • Hi all! Thanks Lori and all that responded to my last post! The cake was great, I got the recipe for the cake out of Better Homes and Gardens magazine. It was my idea to use my homemade peanut butter for the icing. I also put some f.f cool whip on top of it! My version is only 55 cal for a 2x2 in. piece of cake w/ no toppings, just plain. Only .5 grams of fat! It was gone by last night so I baked another one today. I've been eating it like crazy and still losing weight. I keep thinking it's gonna catch up to me soon, probably tomorrow. I had 1700 cal. today cause I ate too much, that's including the peanut butter and cool whip though. I have 1 lb. to lose yet, then I'm gonna attempt to maintain.
  • I think I'd like to join in this challenge. It is certainly a ways off though....I'm thinking I'm 228 right now....so....I bet I can get to onederland by sept 6th...and that's my goal. 29 lbs! Does that work for this thread?
  • love2b - I did mean bare-*** nekkid, yep. I'm a ravenous shopper and too vain to buy things that don't make me look amazing, but the nude-view could stand some tweaking. Speaking of bare and butts, my butt is killing me, KILLING ME from this legs workout from Netflix, so I feel that's a step in the right direction. A sore butt is a happy butt.

    misspriss - You are looking like fabulousness incarnate in your new avatar. Have as many good vibrations as you can stand from my direction, you can do this, you are doing this, you're wonderful, and this too shall pass.

    Lori - I'm sorry to hear you've been falling. I read through, but there's a lot to catch up so forgive me if I missed something - have you had your blood pressure checked? Sometimes if it is on the low end and you stand up, it can dip, leaving you on your carpet wondering what the **** happened...

    Just a quick note from me tonight - gotta get back on the couch and finish my television program before going to bed. Hubs is taking me somewhere tomorrow - I'M BEING TAKEN OUT OF THE HOUSE!!! I'm so excited!
    (Husband is a homebody. I am not. I am sarcastic though, see?)
    So it's an hour long program and so far I've been watching it for about 2 hours... love that pause button. Don't love my attention span too much though. In any case, I've been logging my food, although not as "on time" as I'd like - in other words, I''ll log all of today tomorrow. I feel like I'm more likely to forget that stolen Oreo this way - but I'm working on getting back on track with that. Workouts are good. I'm going hard on the circuit training as that is what scorches fat for me. Yoga and walking are like breathing for me now, pretty automatic, so that's a big, big happy face for new deeply ingrained habits. The eating is reasonably on track. We'll let the scale render the verdict on that mac-n-cheese portion.

    Having a BLAST!!! It's been a full weekend. I haven't over eaten and the food has been GLORIUS! I haveN' been counting calories bcuz I have no idea of the ingredients. But based on my child sized portions I would venture to say I have stayed within 1400 calories. This has been the best one yet. Will do details later.

    SUSIE - congrats on the 60 lost!!! You are doing an amazing job.
  • Hmm so the headache yesterday was from TOM (sorry if TMI) which is good because that means it should go away today. But this unpredictability is one of the bad things about perimenopause! Anyway, moving on and planning to have a good day!

    Sorry I haven't been around much lately, but I am happy to report that I've been having lots of fun

    I have finally busted out of the 220s, and am 2 lbs away from my initial challenge goal! Not bad considering I had a 4-day drunk fest in there (outdoor camping/concert thing...I'm really not an alcoholic!) I do go to Vegas next week though, so we will see how this all shakes out. Just glad I am still going in the right direction (albiet slowly) this summer. I will definitely be kicking things back up to high gear when I go back to work next month.

    I haven't even begun to catch up with everyone yet, but hope you are all doing well and enjoying your summers!

    I had some drinks last night with DH and I'm feeling it this morning. My stomach isn't feeling too well & my head hurts I don't drink that much anymore because of this feeling...ugh. Wine doesn't give me this feeling..i wish it wasn't so high in calories though..lol

    KDM322, I have put my WO clothes on in the mornings only to talk myself out of going and take them off. I think I just prefer the evenings better, after all of my meals are done Good for you on finally getting your WO in.

    Thanks everyone for the cheers for reaching 60 pounds lost. I will probably weigh in once more on Weds. then not again till after all signs of TOM are gone (sorry David). I'm hangin' in at 181.7 still. Isn't it just human of me to now be so anxious to see the 170's?! I was so ready to just see 181, I'd be so happy to see it but now I can't wait to see a 1-7-something!

    Just 7 more pounds to my original goal that seem IM-POSS-I-BLE 6 months ago!!

    Gotta run, I'll do personals later.

    susie--totally know how you feel about wanting one number soooo badly, only to finally reach it AND then want a NEW number!!! You'll be in the 170s before you know it!!!

    AS FOR ME...I'm doing great (atleast in my mind!haha)!! I actually did the TM last night...not for the entire 45 min as I had planned, bc I got interrupted after only 7min of my warmup, but usually I would've stopped and said screw it, but when I was done w/my shift, I got back on & ran 1mile alternating between 5, 5.5, & 6mph..then cooled down for 5min...I didn't get to do Turbo Jam this AM bc the hubs wanted to cut grass so I helped out & did the trimming...then after a mishap w/the weed eater & it broke, I washed our cars...so all in all, I got more of a cardio WO (a little over an hour) being outside than i would have gotten with 45min of TJ!! my HR wasn't as high as it would have been with TJ, but it was still up & I was out of breath at times! PLUS, i probably sweated more being that it was 85 outside, not exercising in the air conditioning!! haha SOOO, even tho I didn't do exactly as I planned, it was still SOMETHING! so in my mind, I'm doing great! haha I plan to do the TM tonight also

    OH....I have a NSV to report....I was almost to work this afternoon and my coworker called & said they were going to get Dairy Queen for blizzards & asked if I wanted any....I ACTUALLY SAID NO!!!! even tho my reason was bc I had went to DQ on Thursday & had a fudge sundae (See, I just got back OP yesterday!), this still counts!! bc usually I woulda said, "Sure, get me a reese's cup blizzard" even tho I had been a "bad girl" all week... BUT NOT TODAY!! I'm determined to get back in the 160s!!! YAY ME! LoL
