Morning

Im exhausted this morning. We didn't get home from the baseball game until 1:30am, there was a 2 hour rain delay:( which really sucked because i had my meals all planned out but by the time 11:30 came around i was really hungry. Im usually asleep by that time. DH got a cheeseburger meal and all four of us had some, i had about three bites of a cheeseburger then a small hand full of fries and felt better. Before the hamburger i had about 1350 calories wise so im estimating my calories after words around 1700-1800 so im still happy with my self. We also spent a lot of time walking around so i know i got rid of some of those extra calories...

I plan on getting in a nice power walk later on the treadmill today and thats it..im too tired..

Corrine-Congrats on the 2lb loss, whoohoo! By 'premixes' i meant is there any premixes on the dvd? Sometimes the makers will include premixes in case you don't have time to do the whole workout. I love premixes

ImonaBoat- Maybe raising your calories to 1800 for a day or too would help mix things up a bit? Plateaus are so frustrating...

JD-Sounds like you have a nice plan in mind with the workouts. I have p90x, Tony is hilarious..really like him. As a matter of fact i did KenpoX yesterday, really fun.

Hello to everyone i missed..have a good day

Afternoon ladies,

lots to talk about... So yesterday on the news they said there was a job fair at a local university neer me so I got my resume together, cover letters, pick out my outfit and hit it up this morning! It was good, not as many companies for what I'm looking for, but I was able to get my resume out and possibly a few job offers by Friday they said...that would be sweet! I'm just going to keep at it.

Now for the P90x...We did it after we ate dinner...big mistake...after working out i felt sick...during the workout..I didn't feel like I was getting my heart rate up but I knew I was sweating...I thought it was a lil boring...but...this morning how I felt was great, I loved feeling my muscles sore again..so we are willing to do it again tonight. I still want to do cardio at the gym too..this is good for strength training but not going to help get rid of the last amount of fat. I guess I just need to get into it more. Anyone who had done it...please let me know more about it and your experience!

misspriss: that sucks there was a rain delay at the game, but glad you had your snacks and stayed on track! Oh and I really want to know your opinion and results when doing the p90x....

corinne: Congrats on the 2lbs...136 is a great weight! I was right there with you on being scared to weigh myself yesterday morning...but it had to be done. I'm glad you had great results!

KDM: way to get back on the workout bandwagon! It is nice to take a break for a bit and then get those muscles working! Keep up the great work!

ShylahEQ: I completely agree with you about getting it out of your system. I however did it for a bit longer than a weekend, but non the less it's important to take a few days off and enjoy...if I don't then I tend to really lose control. So proud of you for getting through!

fruitlady: awesome job on the 2lbs! I know exactly what you are going through with being so close to your goal weight and every lb counts! Keep it up you are doing great :)

Well I'm going to eat my lunch...i'm starving!...and then keep applying for jobs. I work tomorrow and friday and sunday and the bf just asked me if I could come into his work next week and help out...money money money!

Hi everyone, for those who try the caraway seeds on your chicken, let me know if it works for you. I'm really curious to know if that is what caused me to lose weight so fast. I buy a pack of chicken and make the whole thing so I have it for my dinner every night. It lasts me about 4 days. I love caraway seeds, so I never get sick of it.

I went over me calories today by 200. It's those chocolate chip cookies I baked last night, they are only 38 cal. and 1.5 g. of fat for one. But I eat about 7 at a time, there too good. I ate my chicken tonight, I'll let you know if it helped. I gained 1.5lbs in one day, I didn't eat that much, I had 1320 cal. today and 1440 cal. yesterday, maybe it's water weight from the sodium in the cookies. I can't wait til they are gone now! I hope someone here will gobble them up tonight.

Just checking in real quick. They've been keeping us very busy at the career awareness seminar! In the past few days I've welded, laid concrete block and drove heavy equipment, among many other things! I've been eating too much and kind of gave up on counting by yesterday. Good, free food is hard to turn down, but I guess i could be doing worse (I've passed on most of the desserts.)

We're done here tomorow after lunch and then on to Wisconsin for the family reunion weekend. Whew! What a crazy busy week this is! Hope everyone is well.

Lori259 06-17-2010 10:54 AM

Good morning ladies.

Attempted 30DS L2 today for the first time. I'm glad the only jumping jacks I had to do were in the warm up. :p We'll see what I say about it next week though.

jdonato 06-17-2010 02:42 PM

Quick update on p90x....

The bf and did it again last night and I liked it better the second time...so it seems the more we do it the more I like it and I love being sore again. I hurt my wrist last night and I slept on it funny...so it's going to be hard to do pushups but i can try and do my best. I've lost 2 of the 3lbs I gained so back in my range again. We start doing the treadmil cardio Monday so I hope I can get some of that excess off then.

Work as alright today...ppl can be a lil crazy at times. So I ate breakfast as usual this morning with my coffee and when i got to work I felt I was going to pass out, I was so hungry! I was getting dizzy..so I dont know if my metabolism is up from working out and I needed to eat more than my breakfast or what...I at breakfast around 9:30am and I felt dizzy around 12pm...2.5 hours I should have been fine but guess not. I normally eat 1 english muffin topped with laughing cow cheese, 2 strips of turkey bacon, t slices of tomato and 2 egg whites. I've been taking in enough calories through the day, but yesterday I had a pork chop and it put me over a lil. oh well.

I hope everyone is good, I'm trying to have the windows open and enjoy the weather while I apply to jobs.

julesp313 06-17-2010 04:06 PM

Very quickly - I've been in SoCal all week and haven't had chance to post as I'm teaching all day and working in the evenings. Been REALLY good with food except for one Skittles incident on Tuesday (minor really, considering it was 250 cals of Skittles or 780 cals of cheesecake - I chose wisely). Been having an egg white omelet loaded with vegs for breakfast, plus bran flakes, then fruit mid morning, a salad with grilled chicken for lunch, fruit mid afternoon, then a sensible dinner. It's hard to be sensible AND eat out, but I did my research and had my options for Subway and PF Changs, and stuck to them. I fly home tonight to an empty fridge so tomorrow I'll have to make do with whatever I can find, then hit the grocery store on Saturday and stock up for the week ahead. I only have ten days to go til my cruise - I can NOT wait. So excited! :)

Hello ladies!

Lori- I too avoid eating after 7, or within 3 hours of 'bedtime'. I think it's really helped. :) Sounds like you were a domestic goddess today!

Jules- Wow, you've been busy! Sounds like you've done wonderful on plan. Congrats!

Jdon- Woohoo! Good job. I love that sore feeling! Hope your job search is doing well.

Northern- Sounds like fun. Glad to hear you're doing well even though CC'ing took a backseat. Hope your reunion goes swimmingly!

Fruitlady- Alright, dying here. You've got to share that cookie recipe! :carrot:

Yesterday I decided I would "treat" myself. I had a diet cherry vanilla Pepsi and a Skinny Cow ice cream cup-cookies and cream. The ice cream was so good. The Pepsi satisfied my desire for soda, but I found myself not wanting to finish it and so down the drain it went. I hadn't had a soda in over 6 weeks and I can't say I craved it, it was just a 'what the ****' kind of thing. I did like the flavor though. :)

Even with treating myself, I stayed under calories. I did go well over my sugar and sodium levels, unfortunately. Today I've been on plan, but again went over the sodium levels, despite salad being two of my meals. I also went over sugar- it turns out my cereal and milk combination in the morning leaves me with only two grams to spare, according to myplate. Oh well, I'm not too concerned about that. It is only a guesstimate, after all. I'm within 5 calories of what myplate says I should be eating, which is quite scary because I've been doing about 1200 and they say I should have 1334. Let's hope that isn't going to hurt me.

Anyways, I've been busy cleaning the house top to bottom all day and am just now getting ready to go garden for a bit. Hope everyone is well!

fruitlady 06-17-2010 08:38 PM

misspriss and Lori- Here's my recipe for chocolate chip cookies, I made it up myself based on the original recipe for toll house cookies- 2 1/4 c. of 100% whole wheat flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. of salt substitute( I stay away from sodium, cause it causes water weight)
not quite 1 cup of natural applesauce( replaces butter)
1 tbsp. sugar( yes, that's it for the whole batch, just needed for the browning process)
1 or 2 small packets of Truvia( It is stevia, it comes in a box of 40 small packs, add to taste. Try one pack first, the Splenda brown sugar makes it plenty sweet for me.)
1/4c.+ 2 tbsp. of Splenda brown sugar( it's half sugar and half splenda)
1 tsp. of vanilla extract
another 1/2 c. of natural applesauce if needed , if mixture is too thick, add more. It replaces the eggs)
1 tbsp. of Olivio spread( not the spray, it adds 6 g. of fat needed for the baking process)
3 tbsp. of Nestle Mini Chocolate chips( that it for the whole batch, if you want more chocolate you can add as much as you want, but the calories will be higher of course)
Just mix all the ingredients together, drop some mixture on greased cookie sheet, and flatten each one down for flat cookies, if you like them thicker, you don't have to do it. They don't flatten and spread out like regular cookies. They get more cake like. Bake for 9 min. at 350 degrees. I got 42 cookies out of it. If you make 42, the calories are-37, 1.5g fat, carbs 7g., sodium 32.5g. , 1g. protein, 1g. fiber for one cookie.
Yes, I added every ingredients nutrients and came to a total, then divided by the number of cookies it made. It took me two hours! Enjoy!

fruitlady 06-17-2010 08:47 PM

Hi chicks, Let me know how the cookies are ! As for me i went up to 1955 cal. today cause I finished off the cookies. My calories have been higher for a couple days and I lost a pound! The cookies sure don't hurt me, as least they were all healthy calories. I'm bound to gain one of these days, I won't get away with it for long, unless the chicken w/ caraway seeds is actually helping. I found that if I make sure to eat my certain foods I eat everyday and have my regular breakfast ,lunch and dinner, I seem to be able to snack on alot of healthy stuff in between and manage to lose weight. Skipping meals to replace them with calories from other foods I tend not to eat that much, makes me gain. I can live with that for sure!

Thank you so much for the recipe I have to pick up some things tomorrow at the grocery store so i will make some tomorrow. They sound really good!

Lori-WTG on getting all your laundry done. Isn't it funny how little girls like to keep there bedrooms clean and boys could care less? My little boys room is always a mess and my little girl can't stand it so she will clean it up for him,LOL

JD-about p90x, About two summers ago i Got through 2months of the 'regular' rotation of it and then i hurt my back so i had to stop. I was seeing some really nice progress with it. I remember i was losing about a 1lb a week and seeing changes in my body. I've got a cyber friend that is a Beach Body Coach & a certified fitness trainer...she helped me out with a lot of my questions. I was always hungry so i had to increase my calories. that was about the time i hurt my back while moving furniture. I still pull it out from time to time but to be honest...i have to have more variety to stay motivated, i have several different instructors that i like, Tony is one of them. He's such a crack up. I did Kenpo the other day and he was saying something about Krispy Kreme donuts, lol. Anyhoo...I hope you enjoy it. It will really build your endurance up.

Hello to everyone i missed. Im still chugging along. Still OP and hoping to see a loss this week...yeahya....
