I'm 5'6" and at 156 I'm a comfy size 10, and I could squeeze into a size 8 if I really had to, though my hips wouldn't be real happy about it.
My skinny body (I remember her from high school and freshman year of college) has a very hourglass figure, and can wear size 6 jeans from Old Navy, but 8's and 10's will always fit better.
Right now I'm 5 feet 3 inches and at 188 lbs. My stand by size is 16 but can be 14 or 18 depending on the brand or store. I remember at one point in my adult life wearing 6's and 8's and hope to get back to that in the future.
I am 236 and my 22s are getting tight. About 10lbs lighter and they will be much more comfortable. I carry lots of excess preggo fat/loose skin in my lower stomach and I know if that weren't there I'd be like an 18. I've always had a larger size for my weight though, at 125lbs I wore an 8, and a 14 at 160. I'm about 5'6 and used to be pear shaped but now it's more apple shaped.

5'2" and 143 lbs= size 8 jeans. I've been wearing these jeans at my highest weight (153) and haven't really checked to see if I'd fit in a smaller size. They're a little loose on my now, but I don't like super tight jeans. One thing is for sure, they even fit me well after going through the dryer- no stretching! Heh.
I'm 5' 6", and 239lbs (Finally outta the 240s today, ye haw!) and I own 2 pairs of jeans that fit.
1 is a size 18 and is baggy, 1 is a pair of 16s that fit perfect. I have a really flat azz, so when jeans are even slightly baggy, they look extremely baggy in that area.
I'm 5'6" and 227. Apple shape (big belly, big breasts, pretty proportional everywhere else.) Being big in the middle puts me in larger sizes, unfortunately. At my HW (274) I was in a 26. Currently wearing 24's, but they're WAY too big, so I'm guessing I'm really a 22 or so. Going to buy smaller summer clothes soon then replace my too big pants/tops in the fall.
Omg! I was getting depressed about how big of a size I was after reading this thread, so just for the heck of it I tried on a size 18 Capri pants I have (only things I own that are smaller than a 24). I guess I didn't really realize how huge my clothes are on me...the 18's fit!!!
Granted I wouldn't quite wear them out in public yet, but they are on!!
So I guess I will change my stats and say snug 18 or loose 20
I'm 5'6 and 188lbs, & a classic hourglass. I have pants that fit (fit and can safely wear outside) from size 12-16. Because I'm busty, I need a L-XL in most tops -- but they never fit my waist. I'd probably be a LG/M if I had no chest.
I am sitting here now in a pair of 16 cargos from gap that fit nice in the legs but need a good 3-4 inches off my waist. They are rolled down a full roll all the way around the waist. Last week I bought sz. 14 *long & lean* jeans from the Gap which fit funny @ the crotch (i HATE gap jeans!) but decided to get all loosey goosey halfway through the day and it appears they need some waist taken out as well. The 12s I have fit great, but I'm so scared these pants are a fluke so I wont try on any other 12s!
It sucks that sizes at stores are so all over the board. My goal size is a 10 though (for now). If I didn't have all this booty I'd probably be pretty close! I need to try on my *sizer jeans* to see how close I'm getting.
Looking @ the numbers makes me feel more at home here -- you guys are around my size, and you size 10s & 8s make me feel that I'm not as far off from my goal as I think.
This topic always makes me want to cry just a little bit. At 5'4" 158 I'm a solid size 14. In the past I wasn't able to fit into a 12 until my weight was below 150. I don't think of myself as a freak of nature, but when everyone else my height is fitting into 12's and 14's at 30-50 lbs. heavier, it makes me wonder.
I'm 5'3.5" and 225 pounds. I am currently wearing between an 18-22 pants depending on the brand and cut and xxl tops. At my highest of 265 I was wearing 24 pants and 3x tops. I am an apple shape, no hips or butt, all tummy and boobs (and football player shoulders). At my lowest adult weight of 165, I wore a size 12 and large shirts. If I reach my goal weight, I have no idea what size I'll be, I haven't weighed that little since I was 11!
I am 5'4'' and at my highest a few years ago I was 240lbs and pushing an 18/20 women's size US. When I started losing again this year I was at 215lbs and pushing a size 16. Currently I am about 189 and wearing regular 14 comfortably and some size 12.
I have a pair of size 6 shorts from when I was a teenager that I held on too...maybe one day :-)
Hey farn~HUGS!
I am 5'& 5.5 "
I am 155.6 (yippie New low)
Wear 6 in womens In jeans & 7 jrs. in Jeans & some 4 's (only if there stretchy denim 4's)
Wear small & medium in tops.
Wear small to XS in dresses....Or size 8 if there sized by number.
But 8 pants & jeans are way to big on me.
I can copy & post a thing to a thread I started a long time ago in a sec for u to look at too it has pages of sizes shaped ect.~i was 200's still then I think & wearing 18 then maybe But I will paste it on here BRB!
OK I found it & pasted the shortcut to it below What size do you wear because..... Just click it..HUGS FARN!
This is a great example of how different we all are! I'm 5'5 and this morning weighted 157.2. I'm fairly curvy and busty (36D) and I'm just *now* starting to fit into size 10 pants and size M tops.
ETA: I most likley won't go down to a size 8 pant until I'm under 150!

And yes, I do work out. A LOT.
Please don't cry! I really think that height, age, body shape have alot to do with clothing size. Also, I think there are people out there (not necessarily on this thread) that wear clothes that are really too small for them. I used to do that when I was younger, but now it is just too uncomfortable!
This is a frustrating subject for me, too. I am 48, I am 5'3" and have always been stocky, even when I was in my 130's back in my twenties. Currently, I weigh 166 pounds. I am wearing anything from a 12/14 (elastic waist shorts) to some of my summer clothing that are 1X (size 18-20). I had secretly hoped my summer clothes would all be too big, but being knits and elastic waist makes them still fit. That is really a good thing, because I can't afford to buy new things right now. I have bought a few smaller things, but it still makes me cringe to put on my 1X stretchy shorts when I want all new smaller things. I'll eventually have to buy all new things and also new scrubs for work...they are getting really big!
