I have a serious phobia about the fat on my arms and belly turning into huge loose flaps if I lose the weight too fast, so I think I'm going to use this trick as a jumpstart every now and again, rather than using it all the time. Slow and steady is fine by me! LOL

OH, and a favorite low cal snack for me is half a packet of Buddig lunchmeat (comes in 90 calorie packs). Spread each slice of lunch meat with a schmear of fat free cream cheese and roll a length of green onion up in it. I don't know the calorie count for exact, but I know it's quite low and quite tasty.

ROSIE ~ that's interesting; I am trying to find lots of healthy low-cal snacks becuz snacking is my nemesis. One of my favorites is yogurt with chunks of apple in it ... so very filling. Yes, you are so correct, you do have to be diligent with the treat snacks and eat only one at-a-time or you'll be in trouble.

So, I bought some mini-plastic containers and make them up ahead; and baggies would do just as well ~ just toss them in the freezer. I put mine in a cupboard in our spare room as well; have to go all the way in there to get them, and my freezer is in a porch behind our house. I like to buy fruit and put them into mini-cups in the freezer as well, ie blueberries & strawberries; this is so handy -- just grab & go.

Yes, we have some great deli meats here for only 50 calories a slice (Budding is one of them); can't remember the other one right now, but you get two nice slices of deli meat for 100 calories: perfect on a thin-bread or rolled up in a large Romaine lettuce leaf.

TIP: I try to only buy healthy snacks that I know that I won't -out on ...

thanks for that great list!
You are very welcome ... Glad if it can help others too!

BTW ~ I went shopping today and found a few more 100-Calorie Snack items and added them to the list -- soya nuts, banana chips, and Curve Fiber Bars which were on sale today ... yeah! There are many bars and fiber treats being made today in little packs for only 100 calories; saw several kinds in the cracker & cereal aisle this morning. If I find any more ideas, I will come in and update the list ...

I have 2 all time favorite snacks. The first one is reduced fat peanut butter, 1 tablespoon, with 2 stalks of celery. I love the sweetness plus crunchiness and it fills me up. The other is a mini turkey wrap with salsa. I have 100 calorie whole grain tortillas and I cut one in half, put two slices of turkey meat on it, some lettuce, mustard, and onions, and a tablespoon of salsa and tada - absolute yumminess for 95 calories.

BTW, thank you for the list. It's amazing!

This is a good blog that has compiled some lists of 100 cal. snacks. http://alternativeholistichealth.blo...k-winners.html

Great idea for a thread.

Today I went to the store and picked up.....
Sugar free Jello (10)
Cereal Bars (90)
Honey Turkey and Ham- what was so cool about these is that they each came in 50 cent packs and the whole pack had 90 calories in it so each slide of meat probably has about 5-15 calories!!!!

I also decided to do the slim fast shake at breakfast

I would totally do this if it weren't for my husband who wants proper meals and really couldn't be arsed to do this.1600 would be WAY too much for me. Luckily I usually sleep 10-12 hours a day. ;-)

Here are some of my ideas:
-low carb tortilla, light laughing cow wedge, and sliced up cucumber rolled up (93)
-baby carrots and hummus (78)
-egg salad made with one egg, chopped celery, onion, dill relish, cracked pepper, and a little fat free or light mayo (100 or so, depending on the brand of mayo and how much celery and onion)

Great ideas all. I like the idea of whole foods better than 100 cal packs.

2 rice cakes ( I have the cheddar cheese variety) are 100 calories. Some others might be more or less.

Right now I'm really into this omelet made from 2 egg whites, 1 slice kraft American cheese, and once slice of deli turkey meat for under 100.

I made a sandwich just now that was about 150 calories. Its two whole wheat slices toasted, with some deli meat and low fat cheese melted in the middle, then some sugar free jello for desert.

CIE ~ now, that's one humongous list; thanks for the link ...

DIARY ~ Yes, I agree with you about the whole foods -- I really have to watch those bars & 100-calorie packs too, becuz they are just too ez for me to binge on ... for that reason, I also buy salt-free nuts from the bakery section as I can keep to the serving limits better.

REDDALICE ~ I like to make an omelette like that and stick it into one of those 1/2 pita pockets (100 C's) for my lunch.

THANKS TO EVERYONE for your additions and comments!

Thats what this is all about- a healthy lifestyle for me. I really just want to let go of the old me. Which is processed food, fast food, and all that wonderful stuff that gave me this extra 60lbs! I really am aiming to lose weight but in the same time change my lifestyle. I want whole foods! Today at work I tasted a special k bar- 90cal. But im eh if it is really healthy being 100% whole wheat. I guess with this diet change im becoming picky- to picky? LOL

Trader Joes has the best turkey bacon I have found (nitrate free, too) and each slice is 30 cals & 6 grams of protien.

so add 3 slices of TJ turkey bacon to the list
