Yesterday the dr’s office called me to say that I had to stay on my medicine for the Triglycerides.
Today the nurse called back. Told me my new numbers.
Cholesterol 159was over 210 (lowered with no meds) Triglycerides 131 was over 300 LDL 69 I Don’t know the before (lowered with no meds)
The doctor says this morning I can finish the bottle of tricore. And just take fish oil 3 times a day!
So as far as I am concerned, I am done with the Tricore. And will just do what I have been doing. And up my fish oil that I already take.
So I am off 2 meds this month.
Take my last menopause meds next week!
I did my Sleep test last night.
She said I do snore. Asked her on a scale of 1-10? She said way over a 10!
I will find out next week about the apnea results, as she is not allowed to give that information.
I had to come home and sleep. She got me up at 5 am to go home.
yesterdays calories:1413
fiber 43
Well I am off to a late start and need to go walking this am. Curves at 3 pm.
WOW! You're having a great day! What a huge accomplishment to get off those medicines. Great job!
During the sleep apnea test, did they wake you to put on on a CPAP? They did that to my dad and he said it was the first time he actually felt rested in years. And he only slept with it for 4 hours.
I'm going to have to get back on my fish and EPO. I have been slacking taking the vitamins since we moved.
Theresa ~ I am coming up on my one year anniversary in June for quitting smoking. I had tired so many times and I am glad to say it was the last time I had to quit last June. Yes, it sounds crazy but I am a night snacker, trained since childhood. I am finding this habit to be very hard to break. I am just making sure I keep busy and I have a nice flavored tea as a treat but its still not the same. They say it takes I think 30 days to break a habit, I sure hope I don’t struggle that long. I must say I am getting a lot of little things done.
Lovemyboy ~ WOW, he really just doesn’t get it does he. OH MY GOODNESS! When I was reading I thought, he gets it and then you dropped the boom.
Mary ~ I always bloat up so bad from TOM, at least 4 lbs. I have to make sure I don’t freak this time when I do bloat that bad.
Claire ~ That is fantastic that your down to 136.3, I can’t wait to see that on the scale and not with just one foot on. HAHAHAHAHA! Keep up the good work!
Lisa ~ Welcome. I can’t say as I have a good eye and I usually chose to make sure I am on the low side. My body is very touchy and if I go high, I may gain.
Robin ~ Have a good weekend, sounds like you are going to have some fun
Theresa ~ That is absolutely fantastic that you are getting off meds. Sounds like you may be headed for a machine but if you continue to lose you may not have it for long. DH says its not that bad but I hear him messing with is mask all night long and I think he doesn’t even wake up while he is going. Like Carries Dad, my DH said he actually feels rested now even with messing with the mask.
Carrie ~ That would be frustrating to me also. I tried to break the scale habit once and decided its not worth the hassle. Someone would have to literally hid it or throw it away on me to keep me off of it.
Calories Thursday: 1338
Went to Ruby Tuesdays and got their Minis and glad I only ate one of them and half the fries and two big salads. 498 calories for one Mini and half the fries by my calculations. Its 1273 for 4 Minis and 359 for fries. I only ate one Mini and ½ the fries thank goodness. WOW! I am having the other mini for lunch today with some soup.
I finally broke down and we ordered a pizza for dinner. My poor husband has been suffering with me because pizza is one of my trigger foods. But, I only ordered one large pizza and it will be finished by the family during the one meal. No extra, no leftovers, no temptation. I had two pieces and now I have to stick to my tea the rest of the night. NO MORE eating.
Theresa: They can't give you the results because the doctor has to interupt it and then if you do need a Cpap or Bipap then you come back for a titration test. I know all about that because I do insurance billing for Medical supplies and those are 2 of our main items. Some people love them and others get them and then put them in the closet. Which I can't understand because their insurance is either paying for a year for them or paying very high money up front for them. Anyways Good Luck with the results and great job and getting off the meds.
Well I have had a good day calorie wise. Exercise wise well I got none, lol. As soon as I got home here I made supper and started watching videos on you tube. I don't realize how much time I spend watching those things. But hubby is gone to FL and he says he probably won't be back until Sunday or Monday. So that is good for me this weekend eating wise. I have already told the kids that we are cleaning tomorrow so that should give me some extra exercise!! My house is a disaster right now. But I have to be in the mood and kinda pump myself up for cleaning. So tomorrow is the day.
Littlered~ Congrats on getting off of more medication!
Coolmom~ Good job on your pizza portion control! I love pizza as well. I make my own or cook frozen ones most of the time we have it. Delivery is a real treat for us!
Petra~ I hate cleaning so much that we intentionally invite people over so that we have to clean. It's keeps the house in order though.
Well, I need to do some laundry and get to bed. I'm hitting the yard sales tomorrow and need to get up early. It's supposed to be a beautiful (and hot) weekend. Everyone have a good one!
Good morning everyone!
I sat down this morning to fill in my evening snack on fitday and got a pretty nice number for yesterday. Then I went to tidy the kitchen ... I put the toaster away .... I forgot that I had ... um ... some toast and peanut butter. Oi ... that's gonna change my numbers for yesterday
I didn't check in last night because my sister is here and then we fell asleep together with all the girls. My husband came in about 10:30 at woke us up, so my sister could sleep in her bed. I was exhausted!!
I missed dinner last night because we fell asleep - so I was only at 1361 calories, plus I went to Curves. At my workout I was so fatigued, I just couldn't work as hard as I normally do. It was a bummer for me, and then not eating dinner last night.....should I bump up my calories for today, or is that just water under the proverbial bridge?
Going to the Farmers' Market with my sister and the girls this morning. It's supposed to get up to about 80 here today, and I want to get out and back before 1) the rain starts and 2) the sun gets too intense for little bald baby heads. Even with their FlapHappies on, they are so fair and I don't like to have them out for that long.
And I drank 5L of HOH - awesome! My plan was to drink a 1L by 9am, then 12pm, 3pm, 6pm and 9pm. And it worked - with as much as I need to drink I have to make it a plan!
Friday’s numbers

I got so busy yesterday, by 8 pm. I fell asleep. up at 7 am. That’s a lot for me.
I babysat my granddaughter. From 11- 5pm.
And Iwent to curves.
I am so notused to taking care of a baby that long.
Thanks everyone for the kind words, about my Numbers going down.
You have no Idea how happy it made me. Even If I only have lost a little weight, I feel like I have something more to show for all of my hard work.
Claire
congrats on the 136.6
I can’t wait to see those numbers!
Carrie
Way to go on the water!
Nope they did not wake me to put the CPAP On me.
That’s good. I hope to hear back about the results by the middle of the week. I won’t be upset if they give me one.
Waking up refreshed everyday! Wow!
80 degrees. Sounds wonderful. It’s rained for 2 days here, average temp 50ish.
Lara
Yeah! 1 yr. mark not smoking!!! You are doing very good.
Good luck on the late snacks. Did you say why you are cutting the treats after 7pm?
I have been trying to do the same this week. If I eat after 7, I am trying to keep it fruit.
What is a Mini? at Ruby’s. I have never been there.
Zoe,
We order 1 large pizza with pepperoni about every 2 weeks. for the Other 4 family members. I usually allow myself one small pc. With a big salad. Yummy. Can’t give up everything.
Like you, I try to moderate the amount.
And only get enough for everyone. No leftovers here either.
Hi guys... you seem like the perfect group and just what I've been looking for. Can I join in? I've tried every diet under the sun and I'm not really good at excluding entire food groups or rigid structure. I do good for awhile and then *bam* I blow it. In the back of my mind I've thought about calorie counting for a LONG time. The reason is.... you eat what you what (obviously trying to be healthy most times) but you can't blow it other than to overeat. I got up this morning and had 5 cookies (ugh, I know, BAD) and a glass of milk. I was beating myself up so bad over it and then at 12 o'clock today decided to count the calories and just move on from there.. Yes, it was bad at over 160 calories per cookie. But I decided right then and there that another day would not pass without me doing something about my weight. It was so freeing to know that even starting the day off so badly, I could finish up and still be on plan. I have over 100 lbs to lose. I have decided to do an 1800 calorie diet a day and 30-45 minutes exercise 6 days a week. So, today, Saturday, April 28, 2007, I am counting the calories for the cookies and moving on to the rest of my day and the rest of my life.
Hi Laura Ann - the more the merrier. You sound like you know what you need to do, now you just have to do it... That's always the hard part. But we are all here for you.
Well my day is going good so far. My daughter helped me clean and rearrange the living room. Then I got the smart idea of going through all my cds and putting them all back in their cases (I have a 200 disc changer) and putting them in alphabetic order. I think that took longer than moving all the furniture around and washing the floor and dusting. LOL But I sometimes like things in order. I wish I could do that with everything but I like I said in a post before I have to hype myself up. And well that took it all out of me pretty much. But tomorrow I am hoping to get that laundry room done. I think I have a floor in there not for sure though!! LOL
Calories have been great for today, especially since it is a weekend. Well I will chat with you all later.
Mary
LauraAnn - Glad you're here! Great job counting the calories from those cookies. I think that I would have said "I'll start tomorrow with a fresh slate". Of course, that's what I'd been doing for months - "Tomorrow I'll start....let me enjoy today." Now I find so much more enjoyment with eating healthy. Hope that your day went well.....starting can be so refreshing and I felt like that when I started a month ago.
coolmom - Way to go with the pizza.
Mary - So funny, because my sister is here this weekend and it was the only reason our house got cleaned. We also have ants in the kitchen so that's been making us keep the kitchen sparkling clean for the last 2 days. Who knews ants would be so welcome? Glad that you got the chaos in order......the bad thing about chaos is that everything is always moving towards a state of disorder.
Theresa - You are doing so awesome with your health!! That is way better than pounds, in my opinion. You should post your changes on the refridgerator (or some other prominent place) to give you a boost each day and remind you of your amazing progress. And a double workout - baby and Curves - woohoo! Whenever someone spends the day with me and the girls, they always say "I don't know how you do it" and I just say "I don't have any other choice!"
Numbers for today:
Total: 1660 (I think FitDay wasn't quite right on the lunch)
Fat: 45 25%
Carbs: 218 48%
Fiber: 25
Protein: 96 24%
Alcohol: 5 2%
BREAKFAST: oatmeal with wheat germ (seeing a pattern here?)
SNACK:
LUNCH: out to a nice deli with my sister in downtown - we had a chicken/ciabatta sandwich and a roast beef wrap and some pasta, my first meal where I didn't know EXACTLY how many calories were in it. So I ate in moderation and plugged it into FitDay as best I could.
SNACK: chicken curry with brown rice. Again, I didn't have time to calculate it exactly, but since I made it, I know it's very healthy. Lean chicken breast, sweet potatoes, apples, raisins, carrots, onions, light sour cream. I put way too much curry powder in it and if spicy food burns more calories, then FitDay should say I used about 5000 today.
DINNER: salad with deli ham, tomato (from the Farmers' Market, delish!), Parmesan cheese
EXERCISE: Walked about a mile downtown, with Laurel on my stomach. It was such a treat to have someone else carrying the other baby! I felt like I'd had a day at the spa having some help (I usually am by myself when I take them downtown).
Okay, this put some perspective on things for me, being able to see my averages....thanks FitDay!
Total: 1786
Fat: 56 30% (Think this should be a little lower for me, but my fats are all good (nuts, olive oil, no butter, little red meat) so I won't sweat it)
Carbs: 226 46%
Fiber: 30 (Would like this to be higher.)
Protein: 98 23% (Need this to be about 10-20 g. higher, minimum)
These are my averages since I began on April 13th. I know that I have said that I need at least 2000 calories for my nursing twins (and toddler) but I have seen no difference in my milk supply in this time. I'm weighing each day, so I can adjust if I'm losing more than 2 lbs. per week. On April 13th, I weighed 197 in the nude that morning. Fast forward only 15 days, and I this morning I weighed 186 in the nude. (That's probably a little low, I'd weighed 188 the day before, but still a loss!)
I feel like I've been doing this FOREVER, and I was kind of feeling like I'm not seeing good results. But when I looked at the calendar and I realized - it's only been 2 weeks since I've been calorie counting and eating very healthy. And the change has been amazing in my body. Like I said, I've lost 4.5 inches on my body, and my tummy pooch (it hangs over the c-section scar) has gone down dramatically. My arms have an o'-so-slight definition at the deltoids and clothes that used to cause me to have disgusting rolls over the top are fitting just right. A pair of shorts that I bought at the end of March (they were cheap, so I got them knowing they wouldn't fit) that I couldn't even get together are fitting me - they are tight, but I can close them now!
So, it really hasn't been that long since I changed my habits, and I've seen huge results in that short period of time. That was a big big motivational tool for me today, when I was tempted.
My parents are coming up tomorrow, and I'm very interested in seeing if they'll notice that I've lost weight. They haven't seen me since Easter (when I binged on all that candy at their house). I know that if they do notice, they will definitely say, so there's no "I thought you had but didn't want to say" kind of thing.
Even if they don't, I'm not looking for approval, because I'm getting plenty of that from myself. It really, really makes me look forward to the next two weeks and beyond. If I can make such big changes in just 2 weeks, what can I do it 2 months?
Carrie- It always makes you feel better when you sit down and look at the whole thing. I was just doing that too. It's defiently a extra boost that we all need sometimes. You are doing great!!!!
Well everything was great yesterday with calories. I ate exactly like I do during the week so that is good. I have the tendance like everyone else to let the weekend get them. Plus I weighed myself this morning (like every other morning) and I was 149.6!!! So that is exactly 30 lbs gone since 1/1/07. It just puts me in awe...I can't believe that I didn't do this sooner. Course I guess I just wasn't ready for it before. Plus I have beat my goal of weighing 150 by tomorrow!!! Something I thought that wasn't going to happen!!!
Well off to the park with the children, so we can get home before today's race starts!!!!
Mary
