The FiberOne or Kelloggs Antioxidant/Fiber bars are really yummy...and fit well in a desk drawer or purse. i try to keep one in my purse or the van, so i'm less tempted to eat out when i get hungry...i also just bought a can of almonds. and last night weighed them all out on my kitchen scale and put 1 serving each into a snack size ziplock bag. and put them up on a high shelf so the kids stay out of them ;) i gave the kids some last night (after i measured each serving out, there was extra that wouldnt total a serving - so i let the kids split them)...they loved them ....lol so i had to 'hide' them or else they'd be gone before i got a chance to eat any more. lol ;)
i'm planning to buy more snack and quart bags soon....and measure out the foods i buy in bulk (cuz its cheaper than buying already single serving)....so i can sit down and 'eat the whole bag' and not feel guilty...cuz a bag is a serving, not 10 :) LOL

Well i did a measurement check today and i am down 12.25inches.. pretty good.. whoo hooo go me... I need to come up with ways to reward myself for major milestones non food related and seeing as i am mennonite it can be difficult.. We don't do movies, clothes are homemade by someone other than myself ;) , we have no tv... any suggestions?

Do you have any hobbies? Maybe get yourself something for that. A book, maybe a new kitchen gadget?

Thanks ArmyWife02 I forgot about nuts, walnuts are also a very good choice. Now I craving them :o I'm thinking about making some bags up mixed with raisins...yummy. I also have to invest in a kitchen scale it looks like I'm going to need it, do you think they sell them at a Walmart or Kmart?

Yes, they have kitchen scales at walmart & target. I've never shopped at kmart, but they probably do too. I highly recommend that you get digital.

i used to have an analog, cuz it was cheap....hated it. i finally spent the $25 on a digital that holds up to 5 lbs. and i use it almost every day (depending on what i[m eating). i can switch between grams or ounces with the push of a button ;) comes in very handy :)

I'm so fustrated this morning. I am changing my weigh in days to Saturdays and this morning is Friday here in South Korea. I have posted all my food this week in the nutrition journal, and I have been to the gym everyday this week. I peaked at my scale this morning and I have lost NOTHING! I'm so pissed! Usually a bad week for me last challenge was if I lost 2 or 3 lbs. Now, I'm pulling nothing! I'm so angry and fustrated I want to cry. End of rant.

I'm still trying to get back to the start weight....wish I'd remembered to go edit that after the holiday eating. lol oh well

So I live in the lake erie snow belt, which means that winter weather is unpredicatable and unpleasant. today i was supposed to run my w2d2 c25k, but we're in a winter storm WITH a lake effect snow warning so i did not go out, instead i did a walk for weightloss dvd. since it was a 2 mile dvd, and right now i'm finishing 1.5 in c25k i figured it would be an even trade.

i was surprised by two things:
1) it was a good cardio workout! 30 mins, broke a sweat, no shin splints, but i was sweating it out hardcore and I could feel it in muscles my 'runs" don't even touch.
2) that lady was annoying! note to self: next time lower the volume and play workout music from the computer.

Keep it up ladies!!

I need hobbies.. Right now I work work and work some more... I would do a pedicure but my tootsies are too ticklish.. my neighbor suggested a massage..

I bought the Biggest loser last chance workout dvd.. I do hope it doesn't kill me... and i asked the church about getting a Wii as we don't do video games but since i wasn't raised mennonite the tempation to buy other games won't be as bad... so i find out saturday...

It is good to know those walking dvd's actually do break a sweat. I have bad knees so i wonder if that would be worth a try... i don't run as it is too hard on my knees especially at this weight.

medinazarley What walking dvd did you do?

I need a digital food scale.. the one i have dropped and well no longer weighs properly...

mmmm almonds..walnuts... nuts in general.. LOL

I was suppose to do w1d3 today but we've got the cold and snow too. I already did my circuit workout for the day, burning over 900 calories, so I'm not going to worry about it too much. If I get a chance to do it tomorrow I will, but if not, then I'll simply go on from saturday.

Monte~ I was planning on picking up when the sidewalks were cleared, but it seems like it's not going to happen. Ever. The streats in my neighborhood have needed plowed for over a week, and when the street's a mess, why shovel anything? it's annoying bc I wanted to do a 5K for valentine's day and I'm having second thoughts. Whenever I can again, I'll still be on w2D2.

Tricia~ Honestly I'm not sure what it's called, my cable offers a bunch of videos "on demand" and on that it was titled walking for weightloss 2 mile, i think you can download it on exercisetv.com, but i don't know if it's free. I have bad knees as well, and if i cut back on working out they hurt worse than when I was sedentary, so i'm always looking for low-impact stuff to do, and this dvd was like 33 mins long w/warm up & cool down and didn't bother my knees at all. There was no jumping!! Yay for my knees and my boobies!! Lol. I hope you can find it, because it was fun. but the lady was really annoying.

Hi! Sorry I've been very quiet in here. I hadn't been feeling good for the past few days so it hasn't been a good week for me this week. I wasn't able to eat enough calories so I'm hoping for the next couple days, I'll be able to catch up especially for Sunday when I weigh in. :) Just joined Weight Watchers Online today! Whoo! But holy moly! I gotta eat 39 points? When I was with them many years ago and yes, smaller at the time too, I had a hard time getting up to 27 points. How in the world am I gonna get up to 39 points?? I'm gonna have to really plan out my days..lol..and I'm definitely not a person who plans ahead and is very organized. Does anyone know how I can do this? Plan ahead and all that? I've already tried looking for a planner but haven't found one that was appropriate for me. So any suggestions would be great! Thanks. :)

meandmyself 01-07-2010 09:03 PM

benjsmama...I can totally relate about WW points. That was a hard thing for me to learn when I started...eat more! I struggled every day to eat 28 points. I am of the starve yourself generation of weight losers so that was a totally foreign concept to me. Planning will be crucial because 39 points of healthy food is quite a bit of chewing :) Good luck and enjoy every healthy bite of it!

medinazarley 01-07-2010 09:06 PM

benjs~ back in the day when I did ww i used a lined journal i got from borders on clearance and devoted each page to a day and outlined my "plan" and then my "actual" it worked for me. also borders carries some diet journals that might work out for you, instead of cals just put in the points. i especially like these bc they help you remember to exercise too. good luck!
