Okay, where is my team? I will not have you giving up so close to the end of the challenge.
QOTD - How do you expect the onset of winter to affect your exercise/diet plan, and what are you going to do to make sure you are feeling awesome when Spring arrives?
I am here Antonia just woke up and having breakfast.
QOTD - How do you expect the onset of winter to affect your exercise/diet plan, and what are you going to do to make sure you are feeling awesome when Spring arrives? Well I live in Los Angeles so it's still warm, so it has not affected my exercise/diet plan.
IGetFit-That's SO awesome..your perspective is fantastic!
Monte-YAHOO!!! Way to go on breaking through! Persistance pays off every time!
QOTD reply:
The winter primarily has an effect on my exercise in that running outdoors is much more complicated and unpleasant. I am going to try to buy more cold weather running gear and make it work, but if it gets too unbearable I will be getting by with WATP dvd's. I will just do the same distance I would have run and hope my fitness level doesn't drop too badly until I can get back out there. On the food front, it's birthday and holiday season here, but once December is over, the temptations decrease dramatically. January on through spring will be easy in comparison. By Spring, I should be well into maintenance and just toning up and training for some fun event (triathlon, marathon, etc)

Ms Perception: You are totally a becon for me, because when I read about you getting into size 6 pants, I was like I really want to be a size 6-8 again. Why sell myself short? Why aim for a size 10, when I really want to wear size 6-8 again as I did five years ago. I don't want to be a size 0-2 as I was in high school, just a health size 6-8!
Aclai4067~ I focus too much on my breathing when I don’t have my iPod which really annoys me… Great job being able to push through without it!
ArmyWife02~ Thank you! I really needed to hear some words of encouragement!
JasonsLea~ What’s going on? Are you okay?
IgetfitNStrongforme~ You’re amazing! I just hope I can stick with it the way you have and shed the weight!
MonteCristo~ Congrats on breaking through your plateau!
Ms Perception~ I’m in the same boat with you with this not just being a holiday season, but a birthday one as well!
QOTD - How do you expect the onset of winter to affect your exercise/diet plan, and what are you going to do to make sure you are feeling awesome when Spring arrives?
I actually have been really horrible about exercise up until right before I got sick and now, and my routine is now to get to the gym as much as possible… so the weather won’t effect my routine very much for now, but will be a great addition when spring comes as that will be just about the time when I will hopefully be in good enough shape to go on longer runs.
I did make it to the gym last night, once again surrounded by skinny chicks. Probably the most amusing part of my workout was my lifting piece as I was once a power lifter and still like to do some of the lifts. There were no other women on that side of the gym and some of the men were giving me the funniest looks. I guess I’m just breaking all kinds of barriers in this gym… Speaking of which… I need to get ready to head there… Have a good night!
QOTD- I work out indoors (gym) so I have no excuse to slack off over cold weather. December is pretty intimidating food/alcohol-wise with my best friend graduating, Christmas parties, another friend's bachelorette party, and New Years Eve. So my plan is to plan! I'll get in some extra workouts, save my extra points for parties and decide before I go how much I can indulge. (easier said than done, but I've gotta keep pushing forward)
IgetfitNStrongforme~ You’re amazing! I just hope I can stick with it the way you have and shed the weight!
Thank honey, and I hated that too, with those skinny chicks staring. You are there to take back your life and health and if they don't get that or are unkind in anyway they aren't worth a second thought by you. Shallow people aren't worth anyone's time, try having a conversation with one it's like talking to drying paint. Anyone who makes fun of someone because of the way look is a LOSER and not in a good way. Just keep on keeping on, because you can do it and you are worth it! As I have said before I was 287 lbs last September when I started my plan, but now I am 164 lbs, and if I can do it anyone can. Please don't ever think you can't, and when you fall, like we all have, just get back up. Don't think I have blown it, so what's the point, you have come too far to give up MISSY.

Just wanted to let you all know I am here, I've just been lurking quietly. I've been doing good with my diet, but lacking on the gym this week. Going to go tonight after work, and then on Sunday we have a hike planned! One week from tomorrow and I will be in Japan!! So excited!! Each day is going by faster and faster. I'm nervous for tomorrow because my boyfriend is throwing a get together party for his friends and their wives, and its the first time I will meet all of them. Haha! So nervous! Anyways, I hope everyone has a good end to the week! Let's finish this last week and a half strong!!
QOTD - I actually have an easier time exercising in the winter. I like to exercise hidden in my room where no one can possible see me, and the lovely weather of spring and fall is really hard to resist. I'd so much rather be hanging around outside then be in my room working out. Summer is bad because I overheat really, really easily, so I have to be super careful about hydration and keeping out of the sun. In winter I can work as hard as I want, and as long as I want, and it doesn't really matter. Plus, I always get the urge to take up strength training again when it starts to get cold. So I'm happy to see winter approach. I just hope I can make it down to goal before we get too far into Spring.......
Another good OP day here, though the scale went up a teensy bit. I'm giving TOM the credit since the rings were tight this a.m. and he arrived last night. Seems like a logical explanation to me. I've got quite a to-do list going for today. Good thing it's my day off exercise. I'll get plenty of activity for sure. I hope to see a new low on the scale tomorrow! I'm going to make sure my food choices are really solid today. Get more fruits and veggies and drink plenty of water!!
we're having snow flurries here..so probably wont be outside much. i (with the help of my neighbors) got the trampoline put up, but it was getting cold and dark, so i'm waiting for better weather again so i can put the enclosure up and me and the kids can start using it
i cleaned all the doggie 'landmines' out of my backyard that my big 114 lb lab left all over the place. lol then had to go to the shoppette to fill the gas can so i could mow the back yard before getting things set up. i moved the swing set across the backyard, since the levelest part of the yard was where it was and thats where the trampoline needs to be. then got the main frame assembled - but my neighbor had to help with putting the springs on - that took all his strength so there's NO way i could have done it alone. me and his wife held the trampoline frame in place while he yanked and pulled on the springs to connect them to the frame.
its supposed to hit the 40s-50s tomorrow, so maybe after gymnastics class we can come home and i can get the enclosure put on and we can try it out i'm so excited...i'd be out there now putting it on cuz i wanna try it out...but cold metal and below freezing temps and snow flurries - that's not a good combo. LOL
i havent worked out all week...been so tired. and Wed i ended up having to babysit a neighbor's son while another neighbor took her to her dr/hospital. then i had to bring her son over to my house to get us ready to go to the school. so i had two 3 y/o boys to contain while going to the school to get my 6 y/o and the neighbor's 7 y/o girl...then stand in line and fill out medical info so me and 3 of 4 kids could get our h1n1 flumists....oh joy...then we left school to get my neighbor from the hospital, then i dropped her off at her house with all 4 kids so i could go to the commissary (with her debit card) to buy things for her to eat/drink for a 2 day clear liquid diet (as per her dr's instructions). then sat over with her after i got back till dinner time....which i then order chinese....but i needed to eat and my kitchen was a mess (for the disposal and dw having issues) - and i had only had a bagel at 8am before all this happened...so i finally had dinner at abotu 730pm to try and get rid of the headache....
then yesterday i went to walmart after taking my daughter and the neighbor's daughter to school - so i could get a battery for my minivan.....it took an hour instead of the 25 minutes they originally told me...so we missed DS's speech appt....so we went to get gas then went to his tumbling class. after that we came home for lunch and a nap (his, not mine)....then got DD from school and came home to stay warm....my kids went next door to my neighbor's house to jump on their trampoline while i worked in our backyard. i started the cleaning/mowing at about 330pm and by the time i finished moving the swingset and getting the trampoline together it was 7pm and cold! so had leftover chinese....i feel like i worked off a good amount of calories while working in the backyard last night...but scale is up some - so could be the combo of TOM leaving and all the chinese food and lack of regular meals this week???
today's plan - stay inside as much as possible where it's warm...will try to get a nap soon then get a workout done....need some rest so i have the energy.
sorry it's so long...didnt mean to babble...but i knwo i havent been on here in a lil while since i've been busy, and figured i'd update as to where i've been and not on here.....sorry i havent been on much the last couple days. i'm hoping to not be too busy this weekend. next week will be crazy busy though.

Sounds like you've had a productive week, ArmyWife! I'm actually heading down (past) your way tonight - even if I have to drive through the snow. My best friend and I always go shopping the first weekend in December and this year we're hitting the outlets at San Marcos. I just LOOOOVE the Pottery Barn outlet!!
I've had a good OP week so far and the scale is kindly showing it. I passed the 10% mark this morning, so I'm pretty stoked about that. Hopefully it sticks and I can log it officially on Monday...
congrats tinabinab on hitting the 10%!! That's awesome.
I love the San Marcos outlets too we've been twice since we moved here 4 years ago....we usually dont leave town much unless we're headed to GA. But Tanger outlets are my fav - we have one near where I grew up in GA and they are the outlets that offer Old Navy - which is my all time FAV store ....there's closer outlets to me at Round Rock and Hillsboro - but the only Old Navy outlets in TX are Terrence (new Dallas) and San Marcos (below Austin). so they're a bit of a drive....
I hope you have lots of fun shopping in San Marcos with your friend Drive safely - it's 36 degrees here at Ft Hood (Killeen/Temple area) right now, but it 'feels like' 29 degrees. But we're supposed to get towards the high 40s/low 50s tomorrow...so should be a nice weekend for shopping

I found my city rec centre card with 13 drop in sessions on it- so I've started going to the gym to use the elliptical & treadmill. In fact I'd be there right now if a winter storm hadn't blown in while dropping the kids off at school (we were expecting it later today). I'm still walking the dog each night as well and on occasion running with him. I still think back to last Jan/Feb when I began running. I find it easier to run in the winter than the summer.
