Hi team! Hope everyone is enjoying a wonderful weekend. This past week hubby and I went and started the HCG Slim Express diet. I've read some negative things about HCG diets here and other places so will just say that so far it's working for us and no, I didn't have to give up makeup or other cosmetics for the duration, nor did I have to give up my fish oil supplements (either of those would have been enough for me to say no way am I doing this). It's supervised by a naturopath who administers the weekly shots, and the only complaint so far is I'm tired and hungry...lol...which I knew would be the case the first week. Basically it's just a low carb low fat diet supplemented with protein shakes and supposedly comes in between 850 to 1250 calories per day. Plus my fish oil would add another 40 to 50 calories (need to find out exactly how many). I ended the summer challenge at 224.6 and had gone back up to 230.2. I kept the weigh in figure of 224.6 here as, since starting the HCG on Tuesday, am down to 222 as of today. So as long as it's working I'm happy! We're not supposed to do any strenuous exercise for the first couple weeks (darn!) but okay to do things like yoga (thinking about checking out the evening yoga classes at 24 Hr Fitness this coming week) and I got a little walking in at lunchtime this past week. Obviously this won't be a permanent way of eating for us -- and it's not meant to be. We did our research and it was an informed decision to go on this program. Right now our focus is just on getting the excess weight OFF, and we'll deal with how we're going to eat the rest of our lives when we get to maintenance.

Blue team is going down!! lol I suck at the trash talking

So far, I'm doing well. My period is over, and I'm counting my calories.

Good luck, Lucky with your new plan. Its not something I could stick with, but it sounds like its working for you guys.

I'm terrible at trash talk so I'm going to concentrate on encouraging us all on the red team.

Woohoo!!! Today was my "off" day since we had our homecoming celebration at church, but the good news is they sent the vegetable tray leftovers home with me so I have plenty of already cut up veggies to snack on! Going to try to fit in a workout tonight to jumpstart the burn!!! Lets go RED!

Good morning Red Team! Hope everyone has a great start to their week. It's Monday here in SK. Thanks to ya'lls great advice yesterday I found some online fitness videos. I tried to do one yesterday. They are tough but I had fun. I could only do 12 mins the 1st time and 14 mins the 2nd time for a total of a 26 minute fitness video. But hey, its something and I definitely worked up a sweat! I'm going to do these 4 times a week and keep up with my walking this week. As always doing my calorie counting as well.
GO RED TEAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!

girls!

So I woke up this morning, got on the scale, and wondered how in the **** did I gain 2 lbs when I ate pretty well and got in some good exercise this week?! I wasn't expecting a big loss but come on. I got my answer this afternoon.....TOM. I'm relieved he came this week though since our first official WI isn't till next week. Not changing my ticker cause I know it's water weight and I'm going to be good this week so next WI will be good.

Hey Red Team. Good Sunday Evening to you all. Not much new to report with me. Been on vacation this past week and have to go back to work tomorrow. Ugh!!! Oh well. Guess if I want the check I have to go to work to get it.

My plan for the week is to continue counting my calories and doing some workouts in the evenings. While it's nice outside I prefer to walk or ride my bicycle or anything that involves the outdoors. The cold weather will be here soon enough and then I'll be stuck inside.

Have a good night everyone. I'll check back in tomorrow.

Hi Red Team!

Excited and READY to start the new week after having a less than stellar weekend on the eating front. And I did so well all week long.

But the weekend is done and over with. I'm refocused and to make up for this sad little weekend, I am going to challenge myself to really exercise this week. Will it be tough - YES! I hate to exercise. But, alas, this is my penance.

Talk to y'all soon!

Is everybody going to do their measurements for the challenge? I know the primary focus is on weightloss, but sometimes another set of numbers can help keep me motivated.

I'm pretty lazy, so I only track three numbers.
Bust - 40 inches
Waist - 33 inches
Hips - 41 inches

I don't usually measure every week, just one or twice a month. How do you guys do it?
