So I am getting ready to get in my exercise for today... My 10 month old is being particularly hard to get along with, but maybe if he sees me jumping around it will be entertaining! My 3 y/o is napping so this is the perfect time!
You know what? I've never seen an episode of the biggest loser. I've been doing these challenges for over a year, and I have most of Jillian's books and videos, but I've never seen the show. Is there someplace online where you can watch old episodes?
Go REDDIES! I am very excited about our first weigh in. I don't want the Blue team to beat us at our first weigh in and I don't think you do either. I do have a great feeling that will win but only if we go for it. I know if we can get our exercise in, eat healthy, and drink lots of water (water aids in weight loss) we will win the weigh in and the entire challenge. If you fall off the horse get right back on, and if you can stop and think before you cheat that's even better. Come here and talk about what's going on, we are all in this together for a reason to support each other. And if you aren't near a computer pick up the phone and call a friend. Because I can tell you nothing and I mean nothing feels better then losing weight and taking back your life. Because really that's what we all are doing here, we are worth the best LIFE possible nothing is out of our reach, we can all achieve our dreams!

IgetfitNStrongforme~ Thanks for the pep talk and the reminder to drink my water! I tend to forget that. I really want for our team to win this first week too. I've confirmed my walking plans for tomorrow with my walking buddy, so that I can't back out! Let's start this challenge off with a great win for RED!!
Monte- I believe you can watch them on NBC's website. Hulu has a few espisodes from last season and a whole bunch of clips. I've never watched the show consistently, but I'll pop in on it here and there.
Igetfit- great pep talk. FYI- some studies have shown that 2 glasses on non-fat milk per day can aid in weight loss as well. I usually get my milk in; I think it helps.
Monte--you can also download seasons from torrent sites if you might so happen to do that. Not that any of us ever would!
Excited for the new season to start too! I don't get TV where I am at, so will have to Hulu it later on. Still excited though!
Well, I set my exercise goal REALLY high as I didn't work out at all yesterday--550 minutes! I decided to make 2 trips to the gym today, but my first trip didn't last very long as DD was so cranky in child watch, they came to get me after only 25 minutes! Luckily I at least got to just finish C25K. Am planning another trip tonight, where hopefully she will be fine (I think she was just in need of a nap), and then she will get to go swimming with her grandma for an hour, so I should be able to get alot of time in. I am going for 2 1/2 hrs today to make up for my lack of exercise this weekend!

Great tip, I have read that as well, I try to make sure I get 2-3 glasses of organic milk a day. I read that it's the calcium in milk with the vitamin D it acts like a soap in our body taking the fat with it. "The high calcium in milk can help reduce high levels of bad cholesterol in the blood, and increase low levels of good cholesterol both of which are known risk factors for cardiovascular disease" And it's best if you get from food. Great Tip Aclai4067!
I just thought of a tip, Grean Tea "The green tea extract AR25 is an 80% ethanolic dry extract standardized at 25% catechins expressed as epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG). In vitro, green tea extract AR25 exerts a direct inhibition of gastric and pancreatic lipases and a stimulation of thermogenesis. In an open study, the effects of extract AR25 were evaluated in moderately obese patients. After 3 months, body weight was decreased by 4.6% and waist circumference by 4.48%. These results suggest the green tea extract AR25 to be a natural product for the treatment of obesity, which exerts its activity by several ways: inhibition of lipases and stimulation of thermogenesis. " That's about 3 - 5 cups a day.
Does anyone else have any tips?

Sounds like everyone is off to a GREAT start in our official 1st week of the challenge.
I am back on track this week- though am expecting TOM sometime this week- hope it doesn't affect my weigh in too much next week.
Had a good run/walk this morning after dropping the kids off at school.
My youngest tried a new dayhome today & seemed to enjoy herself so I hope it will work out for her as it will save us ~$300/m - whew!
I've never really watched TBL show- but just picked up Jillian's 'Winning By Losing' at the library & am ready to jump into it.
Well its Tuesday morning here in SK. On plan with diet and exercise so far this week. My calories were way to low yesterday but that was my own fault. I had to go grocery shopping after work so I can get back on target for the rest of the week.
KimL1214- I posted on this site and someone suggested exercisetv.tv. I went over there and they actually have some free full length videos posted. I picked one that looked interesting and bookmarked it to my computer.
I usually walk 3 miles everyday but today I included a few spurts of jogging. I really don't remember jogging being so hard. I count calories and today I was right on target. Tomorrow is my first day of weight lifting. Hope I can move Wednesday for work after lifting weights.
I didn't post any intro on the pre-challenge thread so here it goes... I am a 27 yr old Social Woker from the great state of Washington. I Joined weight watchers in my early 20's and went from 215 lbs to 120 lbs over the course of about 5 years. Since then my weight has crept back up and I am currently at about 153.4. I would like to get back down to my low weight but I exercise a lot more now and so I may not need to go that low to still be happy with my body. I am currently in my third week back at WW and hope this will be added motivation! I'm looking forward to getting to know you all and promise full disclosure about my dietary indiscretions so that hopefully you all will be kind enough to give me a verbal lashing if needs be I'm looking forward to getting to know you all better as we bond over our common desire to demolish the blue team (in the weight loss department anyways ) Good Luck Everyone!
