I'm thrilled that I maintained this week despite not exercising for 5 days and renewing my threesome with Ben & Jerry. Luckily I've managed to break it off again with the boys. It was a momentary lapse brought on by me being the world's worst patient and some bad news from my hometown. One of my 3rd cousins is on life support after a boating accident Saturday. She's only 29 and has a couple of little kids. Any prayers and positive thoughts would be appreciated.

Jillian's book is excellent, it's really all about food and the stuff that's in our food that we don't think about. She makes an excellent case for going organic. One of the reasons I bought it is because she addresses PCOS, which I have. I'm going to really try to clean up my eating and see if it makes a difference in the way I feel. I'll go more in-depth later, it's time for another nap. I managed to come in to work today, but I'll be spending lunchtime napping in the car.

Happy Monday everyone.

Well it is my sons 18th birthday today. Hubby is working out of town tonight, so we will have to take him for his big birthday drinks tomorrow night.

Dixie - there is lots of thoughts and prayers from me. Hope you feel better this afternoon.

Willow - You are doing great. I can't wait until my pictures look as great as yours.

Institches - Does your youngest come over quite a bit? All our kids are still at home, the oldest daughter has a boyfriend and a 18 month old that live with us also. I know that we will miss all the activity once everyone has moved out.

Cruise - I hope that you have a great time. I asked the snarky drivers license lady if I could keep my expired license just for motivation...she wouldn't let me. Wouldn't even give me a photocopy.

Rhonda - what running program did you start? I will do it with you. Motivation for each other.

Me - good luck and have a great first day. I will push myself to get to 3 minutes. That is terrific.

Shannon - Ok I know that you will have a great week this week.

Mindy - Did you get your run in? I got a walk on the treadmill, then did Jillian's 30 day shred. That hurt. Plus our youngest wanted to go for a bike ride, so did that.

River - about time you got over here. Glad to see you. What day is your birthday? You don't need a weight on your license either? That would be a happy day if we didn't need one.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Lucky- I did 3 miles yesterday. I also spent about an hour and a half working on the chicken coop and another hour working in the garden. i stopped when I couldn't bend anymore. The scale rewarded my efforts with a 1.2 pound loss.

Today was doomsday at school. We need to lose 4 teachers and the way seniority works, etc. it could have been me that had to leave our building. As it turns out I was safe. Times are tough out there and our district is run by idiots. But, I'm okay for now.

Hope everybody weighed in today. Good luck all.

Mindy - I am glad that you are safe. It is very discouraging that they would make cuts to Education. WTG on all your activity yesterday. Glad that you were rewarded on the scale.

Rhonda - Thankyou. I actually think that I could do that one. Ok. I'll start week one in the morning.

I will second Jillian's book as being great. Much of it is autobiographical, so it's a very interesting and fast read.

Dee, allergies - ugh, me too. Just passing along some tips my doc gave me, bc I know some are more in to treating, less into prevention.

1. Stay inside. Keep your windows closed in your home and car. Go from your air conditioned home to your a/c car to your a/c office. Do not go outside other than to get from place to place.
2. If you find that you have to be outside for any time, immediately shower when you go inside. The pollen gets in your hair, clothing, etc and you and it should be washed right away so as now to scatter it all around your home.
3. Allergy meds need to be started about 2-3 weeks before you become symptomatic for them to work. Otherwise you are spending the whole time chasing your symptoms instead of controlling them. So take note of the date you started feeling bad this year, and put on your computer calendar for next year the date that is 3 weeks earlier than this year's date. Start taking your meds then to help you before you get symptomatic. For some reason I had never heard this and now I pass thru allergy season quite easily, and i was one of the swollen up goopy eyes, tissue shoved up my nose kind of people.

Hope some of thsi helps!!

dixied - We'll be prayin' too.

sportmom - Thanks for the advice for allergies. The weird thing is I've never had them before this year but I will know what to do next season.

I had a bad week, weight wise (no loss), but I'm still super happy because... my brother and his fiance welcomed their new baby boy today, who is so cute and looks like his mom... and after 2-3 years of searching for a house, we finally found one and will hopefully be signing the papers this week.

Question of the Day..... How many pounds off is your weight on your driver's license?
Well, mine says 125 (I got it in 2004) so now it's about 11 pounds off.

Hi everyone, hope you are all doing well!

I have ordered Jillian's new book but am waiting on it being delivered to the UK from the States. Really looking forward to reading it. I also have PCOS so am hoping there will be some stuff in there that will help.

I'm delighted to say I am back in the swing of my exercise routine this week after losing my mojo for a while! I went to a 60 minute aerobics class last night followed by a 60 minute Body Jam class - loving it! Going to Body Pump and Body Attack tonight. Already feel a million times better, more mentally alert and postive, less lethargic and tired. All good!

As for QOTD - we don't put our weight on driving licenses here in the UK - phew!!!!

Have a smashing day everyone - make it a good one! Speak soon xxx

I did forget to mention that I called into Jillian's radio show Sunday and got to talk to her. I was kind of an emotional wreck when I first got on. Having body image and emotional/mental issues lately it seems. Anyway, I'm working on that and improving my mentality and she was a great help since she is a big inspiration for me.
Getting back on track this week, and I got my new Nikon DSLR yesterday so getting myself back into my creative groove is going to be easier. And, it will help keep my mind off of obsessing with my weight loss/food. At least that's a part of the plan.

Yes! My doctor taught me the same thing. And, don't forget that another major allergy season may hit your area in the fall. Around here, it hits us hard in September.

Yay!

I'm on-plan today, but dragging a bit. My youngest was sick last night and neither of us got much sleep.

dixied-thoughts and prayers are heading your way.

mtiger-Wow, lots of exercise for you, also glad you were able to miss the cut off, and are safe for now.

MissVitality-Yeah for getting back your mojo, keep up the great job.

RangerChic-Looks like you are ready to tackle whatever comes your way, very exciting getting to talk to Jillian.

luckycharm-How did the BD dinner go? Enjoy having the kids, all still under one roof, frankly never thought my youngest would ever move out, but his girlfriend had other plans!! Yes I do get to see him at least once a week, but without fail, he calls me every thursday, I think he misses me as much as I miss him.

me4life-Wahoo, loving the job, that's great!, and still not too tired to get to the gym, Super!

GirlyGirl- Yay, sticking to plan, sorry for the sleepy-ness today, hope your daughter is feeling better.

Well trying something new, staying On Plan, and so far sticking to it. Hey, tried off plan and didn't have too much luck.

Hope everyone has a great day!

It's late so I'll be brief. Tara is my hero. I wanna be just like her when I grow up. I loved how they showed them at the begining. I remember the day when a wall squat would kill me. I never though I would be able to get my fatness off the floor to do a plank. Now I can do both. I understand exactly how they were feeling.

Gotta run, it's late.

I'll catch up tomorrow.

Thanks Instiches. After I got off, she talked a bit more about me which is neat. She was saying how being emotional is also being ready and aware of so much. I haven't been going through many upsets with the weight loss, and I guess we need to deal in that way no matter who we are and how well we think we are doing with the physical aspects of losing weight and getting healthier. Anyway, I'm feeling better and starting to truly begin loving myself more.

I am so excited ...I picked up my new bicycle tonight!!! I haven't had a bike in years and can't wait to start taking some nice rides!! Of course, as I wheeled it to my car the storm clouds were ready to break open and it is predicted to rain tomorrow. Guess I will have to wait for the ride...but soon!!!

Shannon that is so awesome that you got to talk with Jillian. Was that on Sunday? We will all have to check out the webcast!!

Lucky my nieces are 7, 5 and 21 months. They are so much fun, I can't wait for them to spend the summer with me. The 2 trips across the country in the van will be a bit challenging with the toddler. We did this same trip when the 5 year old was 1 and it was a very long 3000 miles!!! I basically sat backwards for 12 hours a day!! The only bright spot for this trip is that my sister has a van now (last trip it was an SUV), so I can sit next to the little one and entertain her.

Dixie unfortunately the DM(dextromethorphan) in the musinex is why they require id. In large enough doses it is a disassociative hallucinogenic like PCP or Ketamine. It even has a street name of 'poor mans PCP'. It's amazing what people can use to get high. By the way...my knowledge of this is from working in a Pediatric ICU, NOT first hand experience!! Just thought I should clarify that...LOL!
