Weekly Update:
Whoa! Not sure what happened with my weight this week, but up 3.8. Though last week coulda been a fluke of some kind. Whichever! I'm not that down about it. Must keep going forward afterall. I'm still writing down my food, but this week is going to involve some tough love as I choose to remove the foods that I wouldn't be eating so often at home. Still only eating 3 times a day at the most. (Unfortunately, due to schedules it's sometimes less than that, but I'm getting along.) It's really tough to say "no" to foods after a long day. Even tougher to say "yes" to more exercise after one has been on their feet all day. But, it must be done! Looking forward to getting home in 2 more weeks. Good & happy wishes to everyone! :grouphug: |
Faerie, you've got such a great attitude! "It must be done" is exactly the mindset I need to get back into as well.
I start my 6 months of medically supervised dieting with my doc this week. I'm not sure I'm down in weight at all since the last time I saw her, especially after this past weekend (my birthday was yesterday). |
|
HAPPY (BELATED) BIRTHDAY JILL :gift: Hope you had a wonderful time!! :bday2you: |
Happy Birthday Jill!!!!
:bday2you::celebrate: |
Morning Blue Team! So after feeling apprehensive about weighing in this week after I jumped on the scale mid-week (and mid TOM) and saw a 2 lb gain  I fought and fought not to let it drag me down . . . . and I WON! :D I am down a pound this week! :carrot: I am beyond thrilled. I have been OP for 13 days and looking forward to #14 today. :) I am officially saying good bye forever to the 260's and I'm coming for you 240's! ;) Hope everyone has a great OP day today! |
Well, the scale stayed the same this week and that's ok....maintaining is better than a gain! I know I have to get back into my groove w/ exercise and consistent good food choices. Next week I want to see a loss!
|
Happy Birthday, Jill!
Jennifer - Congratulations on your loss! Well, after another perfect on-plan week and weekend, my scales stayed exactly as last week's weigh-in. I must confess to feeling extremely discouraged. I thought I would see a little something at least. Today, I have a spreadsheet opened and I'm back to calorie counting again. Also, I must limit myself to 2 fruits a day and 2 whole grains. And, the treadmill is my new BFF as of today! Hope everyone has a great on-plan day. :cheer3::cheer3::cheer3: GO BLUE! :cheer3::cheer3::cheer3: |
Good morning team!
Jill- Happy belated birthday!!! :hat::bday2you: Rhonda- Good for you for reacting by creating a more structured plan instead of emotional eating. I'll bet that the scale is just taking some time to reflect the good choices you made this week and that next week you'll have a nice loss to post. As for me, I don't have a loss to post for the week but that's ok. I really pushed myself last week for those 3 lbs and I took it easy on things this week. I was actually up 1 lb the other day so being back to 200 is good. Between my run yesterday and then the day at the waterslide park, my body is tired today! The kids and I are going to have a really laid back day. If I'm feeling more energetic this afternoon I might do the abs yoga video but we'll see. Oh, and I'm going to a drumming circle tonight which I'm really looking forward to. Have a great day everyone!! |
Kim - What is a drumming circle???

Jill - Happy birthday!
Faerie - so does that mean we get you back in 2 weeks? I miss seeing you around! :D Vix - WTG on the tennis! I used to love playing tennis but haven't in ages. I have a feeling my DH would HATE it. Kim - I have to say, I'm still just in awe of your 18k. Then you go take your kids to a water park... Man, you have got it going on! Rhonda - I am the same way. I love good carbs but they still make my body incline towards holding weight. Especially at this time of year I have a really tough time limiting all the yummy summer fruits... Amy - Glad your WL has restarted! Gotta shake things up sometimes to get it moving again. Don't drive yourself crazy with the scale though ;) Can't remember if I posted this or not - my weight was up for my official WI saturday, even though it was down earlier in the week. And wouldn't ya know it, Sunday gave me back my lower weight... So Saturday was an anomaly but unfortunately I am a stickler for my 'official' WI days. Just means I should have a good showing this week :) It is hot today - hotter than it has been yet. I am wondering about being able to go running tonight. I haven't had to force living room exercise down my throat in months, I really dread doing it... But it might be the best I can do today with the heat so bad. I tried waking up at 6am to run when it's cooler but I laid there and argued with myself about getting up until I fell back to sleep for another hour  Saw Wall-E this weekend... Very cute movie :) I enjoyed the broader picture aspect of it too, the environmental slant... And how there wasn't some quick cure-all solution at the end, that it was left at "we are responsible for cleaning up the mess we made." I recommend it for any of you who haven't seen it yet! |
Hey team - another drive-by posting from me ;) Sorry I'm not being a very chatty or supportive teammate - I'll try to be better.
Jamie - sorry about your gain  but I'm glad it was phantom scale weight and is gone again. I also posted a gain this week - only .2, and given the way I've been eating and the games the scale has been playing lately it could have been worse. Sadly, mine did not go away Sunday - it was joined by a friend. I know that my wl is heading in the wrong direction, so its time to get my tush in gear! I restarted c25k this am, really pushing my speed on the running intervals. It felt great! I also started a new calorie journal today (its a 10-weeker) and will be journalling religiously again. I can get too lazy when I don't write everything down... too easy to neglect the work, ya know? Rhonda - keep your chin up! You are doing awesome, and your hard work is so inspiring to me. I am jealous of your treadmill ;) I do all my running outside, and it is HOT!!!! |
Scale didn't move for like the 4th week in a row I believe. I'm okay with maintaining since I'm not doing much to change it. I'm so not motivated right now so if I can maintain that is better than gaining!
Rhonda--Concentrate on your NSVs! Please don't let the fact that you maintained negate all of your hard work. When this challenge is over my scale is going into hiding until the next one. Weighing in weekly does a number on my psyche! Jill :bday2you: (Belated). July is the best month ever for b-days! I say that because mine is on Friday ;) . I plan to buy my ipod today so I can get it by Friday. Amazon is quick! Jaime--Thanks for the movie recommendation. Me and my friend are going out this Sunday for lunch, movies, and maybe some shopping. I wasn't sure what movie to see. I will ask her about Wall-E. |
Happy Birthday, Jill!
I just noticed how tall you are Jennifer! So, I'm back from all my travels! Whew! But, now I'm working at the office EVERY day this week! It's going to be rough getting up early and even harder getting the girls up early each day. I also am back to counting calories as of today. Months ago I set a date of being at my goal weight on my birthday next year - so July 15, 2009. This is doable. If I don't make it, that's ok - but I do need to strive towards that goal. It will be very rewarding. I have roughly 80 more pounds to lose. In order to do that I need to lose on avg 1.5 pounds a week. I'm only averaging 1 pound/week. So, I need to step it up a bit. I will not do anything that I cannot continue to do. No crash "dieting". But, I need to be more consistant with my diet. Exercise is typically not a problem - although the past 2 weeks have been pitiful! I've missed you all over the past few weeks and look forward to being more active here now that I'm home! |

Shay-Getting motivation back is so hard sometimes. Glad you maintained though! :) |
Ugh. DD woke me up at 5am and would not go back to sleep. Then I found ants in the office. Headed off to the gym and there was a twitch in my hip but after warming up it went away. I finished my workout and headed for the showers and realized someone left the sauna turned on so I enjoyed that for 15 minutes today. I think I might start turning it on more often. Somewhere between leaving the gym and picking up the kids from daycare my hip decided to get all funky on me. I attempted to get the grocery shopping done and only made it through the first three items before calling it quits to head home. I'm hoping some extra stretching and some rest will take care of it.
I've been floating up and down the same .5-1 pound for forever it seems like. I'm so tempted to put my scale away and drop from the weigh ins. It is driving me crazy. Jill - Hope you had a great birthday. Nori - Glad to have you back with us. Faerie - Hope you enjoy those last two weeks. Can't wait to see you back. Rhonda & Jennifer - I'm almost inspired by all the on plan days you two have been having. They will pay off. I'm sure I missed stuff but I gotta go chase down the kids. |
Jill--Happy belated b.day!
I started to hit that "oh, I won't go to the gym today" late afternoon slump....that's my danger zone. So I came here for some inspiration. I AM going to the gym! I WILL do my planned workout! |

MOVE IT MOVE IT MOVE MOVE MOVE..!!!!! that work for you mj??? lol |
Hi Everyone. Everything is going well, back on track. Yay! I have just noticed that we only have about 2 weeks left! I can't believe it. I can't believe we only have two weeks, I need to rev it up some. Part of me is glad that I have moved my gaol and I can join in the next BL Challanges. I would really miss the support and accountability if I couldn't join again.

Hi All, I think I'm addicted to plurking now... and that's fine
I worked out 3 days in a row now, I'm sore - also have been counting for 3 days. I gained a lb or two with stress eating this week (after my weigh in), and not eating, crazy - but I'm back on track! |
I have tried off and on to get on plurk and been unable to see any posts. It's very wierd. I can click on my friends profiles (you all!!) and see posts (somtimes VERY old posts though?), but when I go to post it all goes blank. i haven't spent too much time investigating. I'll try from work tomorrow and see if I can get on there now.

Hi,
To further inspire those who like to hear these things, I've stayed on plan 98 days. Exercise was not a part of my plan at the beginning but is a big factor now and I have been on my exercise daily plan for 2 full weeks. Off and on before that. I'm even sitting on my stability ball at the computer as we speak! I am feeling the weight training quite clearly :wl:which communicates to me I am shaping my body in ways I will appreciate later. :goodvibes This keeps me going when I almost can't lift that last rep. The weight lifting too has broken my slump (by .6#) Thanks Nori for your encouragement in this area. We have very similar goals ( my goal is for April 15, 2009 - one year from the start of my plan) and we are nearly the same height (5'6") and weight . Thanks for your inspiration.:thanks: Happy Birthday Jill and Shay! :gift:Are your goals based around your birthdays? Congrats on losses Jaime and Amy, and to maintainers like Rhonda. I was "maintaining" at 219 for a couple of weeks, I know it's hard to keep going, but it WILL show - if not on the scale - in some NSV which is much more encouraging - hang in there all. Dora |
Thanks for the birthday wishes, guys! :grouphug:
My eating has been just awful these past few days (today included already, and it's only 7:07am!). I had a planned indiscretion for my birthday meal, but the days before and after my birthday have been bad as well--and not just in overeating, but in eating bad foods, especially sugary things, which will certainly NOT hkep me improve my hba1c at my labs in August. Back on track NOW! Not tomorrow, not next week...now. I weighed this morning at 3 pounds higher than my posted weight for last week, but I'm sure a bit of that is due to all the junk, and some will be flushed out with lots of water, so I'll wait a few days to post my weight for this week. I have an appointment with my doc on Thursday as the first appointment in my 6 months supervised diet. I also rescheduled my August appointment for a week later so it can count as my second for those 6 months, too, plus I will have been to both of my possible surgeons' information sessions by then, so I can discuss with my doc and see if she has any input to offer toward my surgeon decision. Despite heading toward surgery, I do need to stick to my plan for the next 6 months to get some pesky fatty deposits off my liver, which will make surgery easier. I'm also thinking of starting a strict every-other-day abs strengthening regimen. I would imagine that would help with the surgery as well (I'm likely having the procedure laparoscopically). |
dora - way to go 98 days, at work we celebrate the 100th day of school - I hope you take a victory weight lift to give yourself a yadda - girl! :bravo::flow1::cheer3::cheer3::congrat::sunny:
rainy days this week and so my gardens are rejoicing Linda |
Good Morning! Only three more days until I am on vacation! I cannot wait! Still not exactly sure what we are going to do, but at least we won't be at work!
Amy--Thanks! That works for me! vix--YEA for 3 days of working out in a row!!! Dora--98 days is fantastic! Great job! Jill--Good for you for getting right back on track! Went to the gym last night, but didn't put a lot of 'oomph' into the workout. That will change tonight!!! Have a great on plan day! |
Good morning, Bluesers!
I'm still on-plan even though the scales are now showing a 1 pound gain. Grrrrr! Something I ate yesterday has given me an upset stomach today, so I'm gonna make this short and sweet for now. I'll check back in again later. Hope everyone has a great on-plan day! |
Well I bought my fuschia ipod yesterday so I am excited about that.
Dora--98 days! That's great. I really don't have a deadline for reaching goal. I'm kinda in a I will get there when I get there mode. |
I have that ipod also, Shay! Cute.
|
i have a total of 3 ipods now... but I only use the classic. My square shuffle is acting up, and daniel uses the touch.
I wanted to get an iphone but the bill would be way too much for me right now. So I had a rough weigh in this week because I decided to wait until the last minute to weigh in and I started my period the day before I weighed in. So I was up 3 lbs. Daniel and I were talking about me being unhappy because of my weight last night in bed and we decided since we are not getting any younger and we are definitely not getting healthier that we need to start and we will be doing so together. Our mission this evening is to make a huge chart on a poster board with our starting weights and pictures and weigh in weekly much like here. We've decided to kick the fast food bucket for lunch (unless its like subway or a salad) and eat at least 3 healthy dinners a week to start off gradually. My biggest downfall is breakfast because its when I'm alone and I usually eat :mcd: on the way in. This morning I opted for Starbucks, which I got a non fat caramel macchiatto and a toasted multi grain bagel. I much needed improvement versus a mcgriddle combo. :dizzy: I really need to dedicate more time to blogging and getting my negative voices out of my head. I thought about Josephine when I had this idea since she journals everywhere  In other exciting news, I got a tip on a job lead for a real estate management company near my house. I had all intentions to go, but now that I'm thinking about it harder and talking to other people, I neglected to see some things that are really beneficial to me here. I've come to the assumption that right now is not the time, and when the time is right, the offer will come my way again. Wow I just realized we only have 3 more weigh ins til the challenge is over. Are you nervous? Excited? Have you met any goals whether they be major or minor? What are you going to do to celebrate your achievements? Will you be coming back for another challenge when the show begins? I think that's enough QOTD's to cover it. Ok I think that covers it. I need to go check plurk... I'm having withdrawls. OH! PS: I know some of you were wondering about Daniel's condition. He just got his results back from his blood and urine tests last week (he's been out of work about a month now) He officially has a bladder infection and a mild liver infection. He's on antibiotics and painkillers now, so he should be able to go back to work for light stuff at least Monday. He's had tons of diagnosis. At first they told him IBS, which he still has. Then they said he had extra secretions from his liver messing up his system. Then they told him he had a bladder infection and Hepatitis B in his liver (which he could potentially have given to me! :o) Now finally they have said its a bladder infection and liver infection that are treatable. And people wonder why I never go to the doctors.... As far as my lyme's disease and/or rocky mount spotted fever, I only had symptoms that one day. I'm still on antibiotics so we'll see if it comes back when I run out. Ok... going for real this time! |
Hi again! I am seriously counting down the time until I can leave and go to the gym! Wow....never thought I would say that...
Rhonda--Hope you are feeling better! Hang in there, the scale WILL cooperate. Shay--Yea for a new ipod! chellez--It sounds like you and dh have a great plan to get yourselves healthy! So glad that dh finally got a diagnosis and its treatable. Also glad that you are feeling ok. Answers to chellez long list of QOTD: I cannot believe the challenge is so close to being over. I am pleased w/ my progress, though I would like to have a bigger loss (there's still time, of course!) Not sure what I am going to do to celebrate...I am starting to plan my 'goal weight' tattoo which makes me VERY excited! Not sure if it is going to be something that stands alone or something that ties some others together... Of course, I have time to figure that out, I have a ways to go before I reach my goal. I will be back for another challenge! |
Hi again team,
I am always reading on the net, looking for ways (at least recently) to put more into my workouts, or to motivate me more and I found this site. http://www.global-fitness.com/. Here's some quotes from some of the articles: Being defeated is often a temporary condition. Giving up is what makes it permanent. Marilyn Vos Savant Nobody trips over mountains. It is the small pebble that causes you to stumble. Pass all the pebbles in your path and you will find you have crossed the mountain. Authour unknown And here's from the motivators: The experiences that cause us to grow are the ones in which we're challenged to push ourselves past our previously perceived limits. Strength is built in response to challenge. A bodybuilder must lift heavier and heavier weights in order to increase muscle. There is no other way. The more magnificent the accomplishment, the more daunting are the challenges that must be overcome. The challenges you face provide a pathway to excellence. They are difficult and they will bring out the best in you. To be the best, you must be willing to face the biggest challenges. you most certainly can do it. It's what you're designed to do. It's up to you. I'd provide more, but the articles are protected from cut and paste and I have to print, then type it all out, but you guys get the idea. This is great little nugget of a site that gives out a lot, for a little $. Hope this will inspire any who are struggling. Dora Oh, and to get the articles, click on the left side of the screen where it says "Get 2 free ebooks" by taking this challenge. You just answer a few questions and they further try to get you to sign up, but they do not bug you, I get one email every 2 days to see if I'm interested, that's it. Very useful info. Here's some of the article links: http://www.global-fitness.com/top10.pdf http://www.global-fitness.com/losefat.pdf http://www.global-fitness.com/muscle.pdf ttyl Dora |
OMG I am sooooooo happy. I went shopping today and I bought an 11-12. I have not been in that size in YEARS. I made my 14 year old take a pic of me in my new clothes. :woohoo:

Update
Question, I think Chellez asked;
Wow I just realized we only have 3 more weigh ins til the challenge is over. Are you nervous? Excited? No neither. I know I will not be a winner, but won in the sense that I have made some awesome online buddies here, more than anywhere else on 3fc, or online in general. Have you met any goals whether they be major or minor? Minor, I have continued to loose! Minor, I met the 5 lb mark this challenge (I don't think I did last challenge). MAJOR - in May I worked out over 800 minutes, which is double my monthly goal of 400 minutes, and it was the first time I ever met the 400 goal. MAJOR - got to the 10%! I did not meet my goal of 15 lbs lost, but I am about 8 lbs closer now than I was when I started. What are you going to do to celebrate your achievements? When I can hold at the 20 lb mark, I get new gym shoes and pants. Will you be coming back for another challenge when the show begins? OH MY GOD - **** YEAH! and be dragging my sister along with me. :D |
Chelle's questions of the Day from yesterday:Wow I just realized we only have 3 more weigh ins til the challenge is over. Are you nervous? Excited?
Sad, I enjoy the challenge and the people. I will miss this while we wait for the show to start up. Have you met any goals whether they be major or minor? All Minor: Past the 100 lbs lost mark Past the "twice my DS's weight" mark Almost doubled my working out time What are you going to do to celebrate your achievements? Keep doing it:D Will you be coming back for another challenge when the show begins? As Vix said "OH MY GOD - **** YEAH!" This is a great way for me to fell part of something while doing this and not so alone, because I think we can feel that way, even though their are hundred's of thousands out there just like us |
Great pic! You look fantastic!!!!
|
momof4girls - all I can think to say is ... WOW! you need to change your avatar pic, because you are not that woman. I am so happy and proud to know you and be a part of your journey.
|
HELP!
I am feeling sorry for myself, I think because as chelle mentioned yesterday, we are coming up on the end of the challenge and realize that I am not going to make the end goal I set for myself. This will be the first time I set a goal and didn't make it. I will have hit (hopefully) all my minor goals by then as I only have 1 more minor goal to make (Onederland, which is 2.6 lbs away). BUT ... I don't see how I can get down 7.4 lbs in the next 2 WIs for me, when I have averaged 1.3 lbs a week. I just hate that I am not going to make a goal I set. I know I should focus on what I accomplished, and not what I didn't accomplish, but that just feels like quiting on my goal, SO, I am going to push these last 2 weeks and try to make the 7.4 lbs, I'll get as close as I can get. |
