Diva...I'm running late so I'll just post up a day of food for you really quick and have to come back later.

Breakfast 2 scrambled eggs with cheese, coffee (w/ heavy cream and splenda)
snack - bon bell cheese
Lunch - Salad with 2 C romaine, regular fat ranch dressing, shredded cheese, real bacon bits and cubed chicken
snack - pepperoni slices w/ cream cheese
dinner - steak w/ cucumber slices and ranch

or I could do
breakfast - sausage, scrambled egg, coffee (with cream and splenda)
snack - mini pizzas(pepperoni slice, little dollop of pizza sauce and some shredded mozz cheese
lunch - ham and cheese rollups
snack - develed eggs
dinner - chicken w/ yellow peppers

Okay I hope that helps a little bit. Lemme know if you need more help!

Thank you very much. Good thing I have been craving deviled eggs.

Any reason why the reg fat ranch dressing? Do the low fat ones have more carbs?

I don't know if this is the reason why Melissa is doing regular, but it's why I choose a lot of regular things. In order to make things fat free, they usually have to add more sugar. So yes, more carbs usually.

Thats exactly why. With lowcarb you always use the full fat stuff (cheese, cream, dressings). Because when they take out the fat they have to add something to bring back flavor and its usually sugars.

ahhhh I see. After all this we'll all be experts! LOL!

I"ve made my shopping list. It has on it lots of:
fish
Chicken
Lunch meats because I don't like pepperoni
bacon bits
cheese, heavy cream
eggs
ranch dressing
salad, cucuumbers, veggies, peppers,
butter
Olive oil

What about Almonds? Can that be a snack?
EDIT: NM, Looked it up on fitday. 1/2 cup has 14 carbs.

BTW: I added you (mel) to my AIM list. I am off to force a workout in.

Ahh, you girls make me miss LC with your yummy foods!

Almonds have carbs, but they are good carbs. In fact, almonds are some of the most nutrient dense things you can eat. however, if you're keeping it under 20, I guess that would be a bit much.

One of the things I don't like about Atkins type low carb the the amount of fat. It took me awhile to convince myself to up the healthier fats to 20-25 percent I can't imagine eating 50 percent or more Fat.

Diva - How about String Cheese for snacking? Hmmm... Ground Turkey? (You can make taco wraps with lettuce leaves)

There is a good message board at lowcarbfriends.com if you want to hit up the low-carb people for food ideas for your induction.

also watch the lunchmeats, some of them are cured with sugar. Same with bacon and sausages. You can find ones that arent though.

ground turkey is definetly a better alternative to ground beef. I make taco salads alot too just not shell. Speaking of string cheese I gotta get my dad to send me some I hate the store bought stuff. Good tips Muse!

I dunno if I can do the ground turkey thing, I tried it back in the day and it grossed me out. I'll def be checking the lables when I am shopping. I* always do anywyas. WW taught me to do that.

Ground turkey is tricky, you really gotta season it. And it can be dry due to such lowfat. We actually use it in sloppy joes (not lc) and you cant even tell the difference. I've made breakfast sausage with it too, but it was too dry. If I do that again I'll use a higher fat %.

Shay...dont even mention homework!! I've got a tax exam on tuesday that I've not even started studying for! NOT GOOD!

We're both bad Melissa. This paper was 15 pages (the requirement 10-15) and I didn't start writing it until Monday night. I have always been a huge procrastinator.
