Congrats to all who lost this week and Karen, :hug: right back atcha. Maintenance is a victory in itself right? I still lost 8 pounds in April ... that's pretty good ... The party was awesome. Claire got a dragon costume from one of her friends with sound effects ... you press a button in the paw and it roars. Too cute. The good news on the food front is: 1. the salty snacks are gone; 2. my mom's cake was really dry so I have no desire to eat it! I'll be running this morning and hopefully i'll see a drop on the scale. Have a great day everyone!! cheers Erika p.s. AMBER!!! Awesome time on your half! Isn't it a great feeling? Hi everyone!!! So glad to see some people with really great losses this week!
Amber, WTG on the 1/2!!! That is a GREAT time! I had my 5K on Saturday and it was really awesome! My goal was to finish in less than 35 minutes and I came in just under that. The official times haven't been posted, but I think mine was somewhere around 34:45. I was very happy with that! DH made his goal too, so it was a great day for both of us! I don't have time for personals (I missed too much while I was gone!), but I have read all the posts. I am really glad to see so many people posting!!! It is great to hear how everyone is doing! Ok, so keep up the good work RED team!!! |

Popping in to say HI!
Believe me I have been thinking about you guys--you are part of my inspiration when I reach for food mindlessly!! Hope everyone is feeling good. I had a crummy day yesterday--just one of those feeling out of sorts days and I felt hungry and munchy all day. I ate two servings of those Baked Lay's too--then I read the bag and saw they have sugar in them, the one thing I'm try hardest to avoid. Sometimes it makes me so mad that there's junk like that I'd never guess was in a food! I threw away the rest of the bag, only crumbs lol, but still. But today is a new day, and I'm starting over with a better attitude. I hope folks are up for the challenge this week. Thanks Melissa for coming up with great ideas! I already choked down two glasses of water :p this morning, so I'm doing pretty good. Good luck to everyone approaching/in finals. I have classes this week, then finals next week, so I'll be thinking of you! |
Good Monday Red team!!! How was your weekend?
So let me just tell you how my day started. I got up at 5am to study, knowing that I had to meet one of my parent volunteers at the school at 7am to deliver all the food for the Teachers breakfast I got ready to go early. So the phone rings at 630 and said volunteer informs me that she wont be able to make it this morning!!!! its too early to call anyone else, and I have a final at 8 am, and we are serving the teachers breakfast this morning!! So I rush over to the school, get it all set up and make it to the final on time. So much for extra study time! LOL!! Luckily I think it went well anyway. This is the reason I just do everything myself! Okay, vent over! I've been a little naughty with the eating today, I had a half a bagel with cream cheese, and some apple pastry!! I could have just stuck to the fruit but didnt! Need to get my water bottle out too...apparently someone needs to kick me in the rear end! Just because things are hectic does not mean I need to throw my choices out the window. I hope things are going fantastic for everyone!! I'm sticking my nose back into the books for a few hours before the kids get home. Gotta love the quiet! I'll be back for personals this afternoon! Just from skimming I can see I'm not the only chicken without a head this week...what is it with this week? Shine on Red team!! DONT FORGET TO POST YOUR WEIGHTS!!! ~melissa |
Les....just happened to read your goals for this week and I had to relate....NOOOO Beer! See this is a problem for me too, I love to sit out on the patio in the afternoon, when its cool and things are calming down and have a twisted tea or 2 or 3. So bad for me!! And its such a hard habit to break. Yes, I can have iced tea but its just not the same! Anyway, just wanted to tell you I was right there with you on that goal!

Morning Ladies,
So today I am feeling rejuvinated. I did a taebo (basic) and a 2 mile watp this morning and drank 4 glasses of water. Only 4 more to go to meet my goal. I'll choke it down somehow. I am going to lump my personals since the board was soo busy. To all the RUNNERS:Congrats on your finishes. My hat really goes off to you cuz I know how challenging running can be. Keep up the good work. To all of you in SCHOOL: Stay focused and healthy. Remeber the healthier you are the better you'll feel and more alert you'll feel. try and make good food choices in spite of the stress. The finish line is just around the corner! To those struggling to stay on plan: Think of the end result. How great it feels to not be winded, or feel the waistband of your pants dig into your middle. Find something thats going to work for life, not for the moment. This is a lifestyle...And remeber, get back up even when you have a bad meal...make the next one count! To everyone in general: Be happy, be positive, be motivated, be kind, and be active...just some words of encouragement. Well here's my menu for the day: B:Oatmeal w/morning star sausage pattie & Banana S:Apple with pc of colby jack cheese L:Salad w/tomato and kale soup (ok wrote this in my post last night...but my DD and I went to Costco and had this fantastic salad at one of those sample carts. It was bagged salad with mandarin oranges, bluberries, smoked salmon, slithered almonds, dried cranberries and cheese. Then he took a raspberrry vinergarette and some ranch dressing amd mixed it together. UMMMM. So of course I couldn't wait to get home to make some. The soup is a recipe I got out of the The Best Life Diet. I did have this for lunch but becasue i went to the mall, i ended up snacking on a granola bar, and I ate 1, only 1 of the kids Chicken nuggets. Not bad, but not the veggies I really needed. Maybe for dinner or with dinner. I didn't put any with my dinner. S:veggies (broccoli and snap peas and carrorts) and homemade hummus didn't end up eating this D:Lasanga using eggplant for noodles and turkey italian sausage. Never made it before so keep your fingers crossed. Sorry for the long post. Hope everyone has a great day...I'll check in later. Love |

Love....costco is evil!!! With their darn samples! LOL...looks like you made out very healthy!! Way to go! Someone just recently suggested that I try kale, only they said I should cream it which I'm sure isnt very healthy! dinner sounds fantastic!! Way to go setting up your plan!! I need to follow your lead on that one!! Have a wonderful day!

Ann - We all have munchy days (or atleast I do). The important thing is not to let it get you down! And you seem to be doing that so awesome job! I don't have much time right now, but tomorrow I'll check in with two things. 1- Confessions of a sunday dinner :( 2- Think I found what caused me to gain weight in the first place (besides just eating!)
