In response to the Red Team's Drive from NY to LA, the Blue Team has devised a challenge of there own to get our team mates up and moving!
We are having a Tour de la Blue Team!
In our challenge, 20 mins of exercise equals 1 mile. You can do any type of exercise you want, just remember 20 mins is one mile. And we plan on visiting major cities across the US maybe even beyond North America! Here's a list of cities we'll be exercising to and the distances between them:
Seattle, Washington ---> Los Angeles, California - 960 miles (We Made It in 2 Days! - 1/7/07)
Los Angeles, California ---> Las Vegas, Nevada - 228 miles (We Made It in 1 Day! - 1/8/07)
Las Vegas, Nevada ---> Denver, Colorado - 607 miles (We Made It in 3 Days! - 1/11/07)
Denver, Colorado ---> Dallas, Texas - 664 miles (We Made It in 4 Days - 1/15/07)
Dallas, Texas ---> Chicago, Illinois - 802 miles (We Made It in 7 Days - 1/21/07)
Chicago, Illinois ---> New York, New York - 714 miles (We Made It in 4 Days - 1/25/07)
New York, New York ---> Washington DC - 206 miles (We Made It in 3 Days - 1/28/07)
Washington DC ---> Miami, Florida - 928 miles (We Made It in 7 days - 2/4/07)
Grand Total: 5109 miles
We finished this challenge in 31 days and went 5203.25 miles which is over our projected goal. Congrats Blue Team!
Since we all know how hard it is to do the following things the team will be awarded the rewards listed for accomplishing these goals:
Drink 8 oz of water 8 times in one day (64 oz) - 10 miles added Team member loses 3 lbs in a week - 20 miles added Team member loses 4 lbs in a week - 30 miles added Team member loses 5 lbs or more in a week - 40 miles added If the Blue Team Wins the Weekly Weigh In - 50 miles added If a Blue Team Member wins the entire challenge - 100 miles added If the Blue Team beats the Red Team - 200 miles added
Just remember.... this challenge is based on the honor system and be honest. You can post your work out times and water consumption here. I'll be pulling the weight numbers from your regular weigh ins.
I have a question. If we walk/run can we post the miles instead? I can run a mile way faster than I can walk one, so for 20 minutes of running, I would be going around 1.5 miles, but if I walk than I would only do 1 mile in 20 minutes. This could apply to anyone doing something that calculates their miles (elliptical, bike, etc.) Or, would you prefer to just stick to the 20 minutes.
Also, just a clarification. If we get 8 8oz. glasses of water in each day for the whole week, then it would add 70 miles? Is it 10 miles per day, or 10 miles for the week total?
If you are on a machine that calculates miles, then use the milage the machine gives.
For the water, its 10 miles per 8 oz 8 times, so technically if you drink 128 oz in one day you can get 20 miles or if its just 64 oz in one day you can get 10 miles everytime you do it during the week.
I agree to LA and Back.. Is the Blue team trying to be like us ?? LMFAO They will never be. heheeh Just kidding Blue!!!
Saw this in the Red Team's Challenge and chuckled!
In order for them to even get close they would have to walk from NY to LA 41 times!
We want to do this for our bodies.... We NEED this for our bodies!!!
Drink that water! Exercise those muscles! Remember.... it's only 37 mins a day if all 38 of us participate! That's 37 mins of pain for a lifetime of a beautiful you!
YaY!! I'm so excited!! And just to clarify to the Red team....BabyGrant suggested us traveling before they did! They just jumped on the wagon first. Hey, we may not be first off the block but you know what they say about slow and steady and winning the race!!
This means I REALLY gotta exercise now huh!? LOL!!
Just did a 40min walk for 2 miles and drank my water today for 10 miles..
so rack on up 12 miles for me.. I did lose 4.4 lbs this week but can't count it yet !
