Yahooo!!!!! Soon to be flung - our old mattress and box spring set! We finally caved and bought a new mattress set on the weekend and it arrives on Thursday!

The store will be removing the old set and taking it to a charity that reconditions and cleans the mattresses and then gives them to families in need.

Oh, that's cool, Mauvais!
And enjoy your new bed! Try not to bust the damned thing the first night, eh?

Way to go Mauv!! You'll no doubt sleep better with the new bed.

I went through all the books in my basement and purged half of them. Whoo hoo. I LOVE books so that was a toughie. Also went through my games and got rid of a goodly portion of them as well.

I’m painting my bookshelves white, and in the process of cleaning, painting and reorganizing – I’m also trying to figure out which books and VHS tapes I can give away.
I find that books are hard to give away (even the ones I didn’t like all that much!), but it would be great if somebody else can enjoy them too…

I've been trying to purge some books - it is so hard to let go but I will pass them on so someone else can enjoy them

I have finished painting - and am in the process of sorting out books. And also sorting and organizing all my papers and stuff from last semester. I need to buy folders.

I've also gone through my closet and taken out all the clothes that are too big for me now. I don’t dare to throw them away just yet though. I think I’ll do this in steps – first from my closet and into storage, then – in a while – from the storage to Goodwill.

I’m looking forward to bookshelves where I can see all the books – and a closet with only clothes that fit.

It’s been harder than I thought to get rid of the clothes actually. I had thought it would be pure joy in “getting rid of the fat clothes for ever” – so it’s a surprise to me that I find it scary. It’s not that the clothes are especially nice or expensive, because they really aren’t. I suppose it’s part the fear of gaining back the weight (I might need these clothes again!), and part the fear of change (these clothes are safe – now what will I wear?).
Yes. Like you said mauvaisroux: baby steps!
