Default Jumping in too!

I did 30 minutes on the bike yesterday.
Nothing today.

But now that I'm here and have signed on for the month, I'll be sure to have something to report tomorrow!

You guys really are motivating. The guilt factor will come into play before anything else: I have no kids, and I have easy access (walk downstairs!) to a Bowflex, an elliptical, and a bike. And I can tell that many of you have to leave the house (and DO!!!) to get your workout in, so I have NO excuse.

(I'm not saying the above to brag. I'm saying it with great admiration!)

I salute you for your persistence and hard work!

I'm in for at least 30 minutes today on the recumbent bike. And some stretching.

Hey - you guys are doing great! I missed the entire week – how did that happen? Well, too nice weather to be indoors probably. But I have been exercising:

At the gym lifting weights: Monday and Wednesday. Monday I had a combination set (a bit of everything: squats, bench press, back, abs) and Wednesday was lower body day. Both days about 50 minutes including warm-up and stretching.

Jogging: Tuesday and Thursday mornings. I’m getting a bit bored with the jogging, not enough progress, always the same old, same old. So I’m thinking to mix it up a bit – add some interval training or something.

I’m supposed to go to the gym tomorrow – Friday – too, and do upper body, but since I’m visiting family for the weekend I went to the gym today. So jogged first, and went to the gym after that. I’m tired now! But very proud of myself!

ellis: Heh! Got you, did I??
Well I'm still forgetting to post it - but I *am* exercising!

Friday and Saturday I did nothing – well, except for some soccer and trampoline jumping with my 9 years-old half-brothers. I don’t think it counts as exercise though.
Sunday I did yoga (35 minutes) to de-stress my body. (It didn’t help all that much – but still…)
Monday: weightlifting at the gym – combination – 50 minutes
Tuesday: jogging (30 minutes)
Wednesday: weightlifting at the gym – lower body – 50 minutes

I just SHUDDER when I read your exercising posts, Mette.
You're doing SO well, girl!! Keep it up! Hey... you're only 21 pounds from goal! CRAP!!

I can't get my butt to the Y!! I need someone to say, "I'm going to the Y. Do you want to go?" I'm so pathetic.
I'm thinking of picking up my Dad's rowing machine from their old house. I like rowing to music, and I could do it at home on those (many) days that I'm reluctant (okay, too lazy) to leave the house.
DH and I are going to sign up for spinning classes next month.

Thanks ellis – keep on with the shudders – they’re good for burning calories!

I went jogging Thursday morning (30 minutes)
Did upper body at the gym today (50 minutes: weight lifting + warm-up + stretching).
As of today I have done 3 full weeks at the gym, and I’m very proud of myself. I spent so much time trying to get started, just struggling to get my ‘behind’ in motion and start going 3 times a week. Everything is just so much easier when it’s about habits, you know? Once you’ve done it long enough, you just do it without wondering *if* you’re going to do it or not. At least on most days.

I think getting a rowing machine in the house is an excellent idea, ellis! And spinning is both fun and effective, so good luck with that too!

So - I’m the only one exercising? Really? Come on, guys! You just forgot to post, right?

Saturday: yoga (35 minutes)
Sunday: yoga (35 minutes)
Monday: weightlifting: combination upper + lower body. (50 minutes)

The yoga was wonderful; I managed to stretch out some hard-to-reach and stiff muscles in my upper back, and felt great after.

I have been landscaping my back yard. I go out there a little bit every day and work on it. I've dropped 6 pounds or so within 2 weeks. Woohoo!! I hope by the time I'm done I drop 20-30!!! Or by September 13th.

Noodles – congratulations on losing pounds and working hard on your back yard! Sounds like great exercise!

Tuesday: jogging 35-40 minutes. I don’t know why, but I had a hard time jogging that morning – a lot of huffing and puffing.
Wednesday: weightlifting, lower body, 50 minutes.
Thursday: jogging 30 minutes. Much better today.
