Uh, yeah, birds are inclined to do that. Fortunately at Chuck's age, he is not as inclined as the others and he's the one that likes me so much.

We were looking a lovely cockatiel today at the pet store today. He was all grey except for the tuft of feathers on his head which were pure white. Very tempting...we even priced out a cage.....we will have to wait until we have more space to get one though and we are afraid that our cat be a problem since she is very curious.

Well we did a giant cleaning/dusting/vacuming of the whole apartment yesterday - the place looks great!

Now I have to finish up on the paperwork organization and revamp the kitchen cupboards!

Mauvais--

Whether or not a cat and bird can get along (i.e. ignore each other) depends a lot on the animals themselves. Our birds are never left out alone, however, they are all about the same size as the cat and I am sure they could do as much damage to her as she could to them. Because they are large birds and don't run from the cat, she doesn't really think of them as prey.

Some cats are interested in birds (in a bad way) and others just seem to want to sleep.

Part of me would like to get a new pet, maybe a bird or a bunny. I'd love to have goldfish again, but I'm still traumatized because I killed Pinkie, Blackie, and Sparky. Sparky was my favorite, he had a real persoanality and intelligence. I had no idea what I was doing, but it's still hard to take the risk again. Fish are so fragile. Our cat never took the slightest interest in the fish, oddly enough. She has 3 modes: "pet me," "feed me," "go away I'm sleeping." She's 14 now, and starting to feel her age. Aren't we all?

Back to the sweeping - I did a lot this weekend. The entire garage has been clean sweeped and organized, camping gear from two years ago that we never put away finally got put up. I culled through all the extra kitchen stuff I had and a lot of dishes and miscillaious pieces of crap that have been handed down from both sides of the family to us in the last 5 years. Hey - just because we're newly weds doesn't mean we want the crap you were given as a newlywed 30 years ago!

Next one to attack is the bedroom....

Poor little ladybugs. They're so cute and so very, very dumb. And how do they get in the house? It's not like the windows are open. They were all over the basement ceiling 2 weeks ago, we had to do a massive ladybug evacuation. It's like herding cats!

Noodles, i think so. but i can be real anal.
Seek : I am not sure but we have them everywere, from ceiling to hidden in every nook and cranny. last summer the paper had something on them saying they weren't really ladybugs. some wierd variation. and they bite. but as soon as it started warming up here they are again. My daughter will sit and talk to them. and get's really upset if she sees me getting rid of any. but i don't want to be surrounded by a gazillion dead ladybug wannabe bodies.

I took advantage of an extra day off yesterday and cleaned/rearranged my kitchen.

I reorganized the kitchen cupboards and tossed a bunch of junk, old food and old icky plastic containers. Felt great to fling

I also revamped the countertops so that there is less clutter...I think I am becoming a minimalist....well at least in the kitchen

Well, I haven't done ANYTHING worthwhile in a good 2 days or so. Maybe I should start a new thread: What DIDN'T you do today? heehee
I have great plans, though... Mainly steam-cleaning the carpet, it is LONG overdue. However, I think that I should just go to the beach and think about it tomorrow! Oh, wait, tomorrow's Easter, isn't it? No beach for me, then! I'll see how much good a cup of coffee will do me for inspiration.

Yesterday, I took two small boxes and two large shopping bags filled with books, movies, and cd-roms to a place that buys used items like that. $45 for all that, much better than what I would have gotten at my mom's garage sale, and I now have space in my bookshelf and closet Now, I just have to figure out what I'd like to put the money towards...bills? Nah!
