Squeak, I'm so glad you got a cell phone. They really are great in an emergency, and I feel much safer with one when I'm on a long road trip.
Just remember, everyone... when you are out with a friend, do NOT hold lengthy and trivial conversations on the damned thing. It's just rude! Pardon me... personal rant for the day...
Agree completely, Ellis. To me they should be used just for emergencies - like when we run out of Scotch! I don't have one but am considering it. We get crappy reception here because of all the rocks and hills - damned Canadian Shield!
And that is not a contraceptive!
Mauvais, I hope your DH has a speedy recovery with no male whining! to the rest of the Alternachicks. It's Gail Day so I'm on the fly!
Hi everyone,
You probably dont even remember me, it has been so long since I have dropped in to say hello. I am sorry! I am ashamed of myself for that reason and the fact that I have gained some of my weight back, so today I am starting over. Well, not sompletly over, I still have 40 of the original pounds off. I am now, with jeans and sweatshirt on, 230 lbs. So I need to get this butt moving again.
We opened a new Atlantic Superstore in our town and it is much bigger than the other with of course, many more problems and challenges. I have been having a hard time dealing with some of them, but I think I am back on track with that, so now I have to get my life back on track.
I am almost eight months sober now and that part of my life feels great. I have not given up smoking yet, but have set a date for the 16th of this month to give it another try. Another friend is also quiting that day so maybe with support from him we will both be able to do this. I want to feel healthy again, to walk without having to stop to catch my breath, or my heart racing. What a stupid, stupid habit to start. WHY!!! Why did I ever smoke my first cigarette???
Well, I do not have much more to say right now, but I am sure I will have lots of input as I stick close to you girls again. Thanks for being there for me. Luv to you all
Virginia
Welcome back! Don't feel ashamed - it happens to everyone You just need to get back in the saddle again and you are doing so well with quitting drinking
The soot from the fires gave me a very nasty respitory infection. My throat is so swollen that I can't talk.... (no jokes about **** freezing over on that one ) I couldn't sleep last night because of all the hacking. I've been soooo good this year about getting sick. I swear Yoga gave me a stronger immunity but now, beaten by some ash. Sigh.
Jessica, I am sorry about your infection. Hope you feel better soon!
Virginia, congratulations on the sobriety! Good luck for quitting smoking. YOU CAN DO IT! When you have the mindset, you'll make it. It took me many tries, but I finally quit a few years ago.
Den, congrats on the exercise. You deserve a nap!
Mauv, thoughts and prayers to the hubby! Is it a minor surgery?
Jennifer- DH had surgery on his shoulder which keeps dislocating at random intervals and when he least expects it -it happened 2 weeks ago when he was driving
He is home safe and sound and resting - still a little dopey. The fun will begin tomorrow when the freezing wears off and the effects of the anasthetic are completely gone I picked up some morphine and some painkillers for him from the pharmacy and he can't be alone for the first 24 hours so I am taking tomorrow off work to take care of him.
He will has to be off work for 2-3 weeks and his shoulder has to be completely immobilized. He won't even be able to have a shower so I will have to give him spongebaths - I'll have to dig out my naughty nurse uniform from the back of my closet
Mauvais-Glad to hear your DH is home and will soon be ready for you to play naughty nurse!!! Sounds like it was a good thing he had that corrected! It must have been pretty scary to have his shoulder go out while he was driving.....
Jessica-Hope your infection gets better soon, what a pain.
Jennifer, Ellis and Mauvais-Thanks for the encouragement!! I have been EXTREMELY sedentary for way too long so I am starting slowly. Hope the endorphins start kicking in soon!!!
Virginia-HI!! Glad to hear that you have been sober for 8 months, that is GREAT!! Good luck with the cigarettes too, although you have proven that you can do it!
Mauvais, so glad your DH's op went well. If his shoulder has to be immobilized, does that mean no sex?! Don't get him too excited with that nurse's uniform.
