LadyOnFire- hey getting a deal is getting a deal :shrug: I have a pair of Tommy Hilfinger black ankle boots which I bought because they were nice looking and they were on sale for $50.00 down from $175.00 :D I also buy a lot of stuff from a company called Nygard but I wait until it is on sale at 1/2 off.

There is nothing wrong with buying designer but I won't buy things just because they ARE designer. I prefer my name brands to be on the inside label -that's all - I don't care if it is Ralph Lauren or Walmart :lol:

Amen Mauvis. I have an Anne Taylor dress. On sale $36 down from $260. All it is a red shell, I thought they must have been stoned when they priced it in the first place. No where on the outside does it scream Anne Taylor.

My mother was the diva of bargain shopping...she would buy things that didn't even fit anyone in our house just because they were such a steal!

Soozie...LOL my Mom was the same way, One morning I went to pour some coffee, I noticed the coffee mugs had names on them (Margie, Dan & Chet) I asked who are these people...Mom's reply who the heck knows but they were on sale. :D

too funny flake...my mom would have done that...or she'd come home with bags of clothing and say to my father..."guess how much money I saved you today?"

Oh I am guilty of "the steal" shopping...my favorite is to go to the annual neighborhood rummage sales in the richer area of town and get all of the "used twice" expensive colognes and the expensive Gymboree kids clothing...that is my one "designer" vice with my kids...I only shop in the store for the clearance stuff-but I buy lots of it on Ebay and in rummage sales...they will design a plethora of apparel pieces each season around a single theme-so that out of 10 pieces your kid can have like 7 mix and match outfits-including the socks and hairbows. I just got hooked on it...right now she is in the Pop Florals theme...retro hippy flowers in turqouise, lime green, and lavendar...little chunky heeled sandals, summer dresses...she is SO much better dressed than me.

must be a mothers thing. I used to go ALL THE TIME and buy stuff and try to figure out who it would fit. I am down to doing it only occasionally now. The last thing I bought was a pair of sneaker skates that the bottoms come off and you can wear them normal. I got a pair for myself for 3.99 in Kmart and went back and bought a size 6 for 2.50. I thought they would fit my daughters midget friend. too small. So they will be a gift for some little kid...

My shorty picks his own clothes now and HE IS SO PICKY! Boxers not briefs. Cargo pants, dockers, and army pants, NO JEANS for Sebastian. His shirts are all rayon with Japanese and Dragon prints. They look cool. He looks cool, its just that he so paticular. What happend to me picking out the clothes??????

Chris-My 16 year old is the same. His look? Long hair, jeans and band t-shirts (MC5, Led Zeppelin, Hendrix, Beatles, Ramones) except when the band is performing, and then he likes to wear stuff like DH's Morrocan tunic with embroidery all over it!!! (He prefers boxers too!!!) The 13 year old like to wear purple socks with green plaid shorts and a ripped up stained t-shirt (BLECH!!)

Going to Memphis for a business trip today I have a whole stack of uniforms and conservative clothes to wear BUT for the trip and the social engagement tonight ya'll think its cool if I wear my very short plaid mini, black tights, and short red sweater. One day of fun clothes for me?????

One of the goals for losing weight & toning my legs is so I can wear my above the knee white leather high heeled boots. :D

oh Squeak, I just love the thigh highs. :D

I got lazy and wore black yoga pants, a long blue scarf, and a black top. That night I went out to dinner I totally woosed and wore tan pants and a white top.
