lizziness-yeah, the proper size WILL feel a bit constricting at first, but you will get used to it.
I have found the motherland for us smaller torsoed gals with bigger boobies....Wal-Mart is carrying a line of bras called Curvacious-for C-DDD cups. They actually had 34-38 DDs! They are pretty, and have all of the "must haves" for bras for the fuller busted-wider shoulder straps, 3 or more hooks in the back (what is Victoria's Secret thinking putting a single hook closure on a DD bra...do they know what would happen if those babies got loose?) NON-stretch straps-they stretch out under the weight of those babies, and nice quality fabric. I bought a beige one with embroidery, and a periwinkle blue satiny one...they both fit like a dream and were both only about $13. Hallelujah.
Ellis-congrats on now having two breasts instead of a uniboob-and how sweet of your husband to notice. I asked my husband if he like my new ones, and he said he like the blue one, and the beige one was "alright." I think beige and very soft pink, no matter how elegant and sexy the design, are "woman" colors. Men want black, red, blue, dark purple...no matter how unpractical they are to someone with a wordrobe of light colored shirts. :lol:

If I dressed to please my husband I would be a fashion catastrophe!!!! He likes the slutty bar look. 3 inches of black roots growing out under blond hair, thick dark eye make-up, a hot pink or black bra peeking out under a low cut top, and a skirt that barely covers the panty line, add some high heels and he is like WOOOOOOHOOOO! Ever once in awhile we see one of these women out and he always pokes me, check it out. I roll my eyes and say something like "She could accesorize by strapping a matress to her back". MEN!

TOO FUNNY CHRIS!!!!!!! My Hubby HATES makeup. I get dressed up and he'll say, "You look great....except for the makeup."!!!!!!!! I usually don't wear it, but am light handed generally speaking, so it is NOT the way I'm applying it!!!

Thanks Ellis - I think I can remember Nevada. I tend to get Zellers-induced amnesia, I can never remember what I went there for (except using their scales of course).

Den, my DH is the same about makeup, he likes me without. That is good as I hardly ever wear any. I only do when we visit dear old dad, as he complains less if I slather it on (I also have to be acceptably thin, and dress like a 1960s middle class matron, but that's another story).

My DH likes red heads, gothic looking girls like Christina Ricci and Winona Ryder, and MEAN women like Lilith from Frasier, or Pink. He also likes hispanic women like Daisy Fuentes. He also likes the hourglass figure-he is not so much a boob man, but he likes the small waist and BIG ROUND BUTT...not really a fat girl, but he would prefer a size 12-14 over a size 4, unlike most men. He is not attracted to stick skinny women-he thinks Calista FLockhart and Kate Moss are hideous.

Oh...he is a little more particular than I made it sound. He doesn't like women that look like Barbie dolls at all..."perfect" blondes with fake tans and boobs...fake nails and all that. Too high maintenance for him-too Pamela Anderson...and he isn't fond of "apple" figure types really...he prefers pears and hourglasses...he is a BUTT man. :lol: He prefers redheads and brunettes over blondes.
He doesn't really like yuppie types either with SUV's and Abercrombie clothes...he likes us Alternachicks...(smiles) He wants a women who will got to sci-fi conventions and watch Mystery Science Theatre and low budget horror flicks...and dress up on Halloween like a big kid.

Aphil, just thought I'd pop in and tell you this. I'm a 36DD, but the smallest I can ever find band wise is a 38DD at Lane Bryant, so try there next time you're bra shopping, they should have some.

OMG, aphil...you just made my night! Please, please, let our Canadian Walmart carry that Curvacious line of bras. I'm a 38DDD and have to pay a bloody fortune for a bra that fits! And finding one that doesn't look like a suit of armor is a task, let me tell you!
