Is it Spring yet? I am freezing. Vegas is cold too, but here it is in the teens at night and early morning. It has barely hit 40 mid day. BRRR. I wish we could get some moisture so we could have snow, it has only snowed 1 time since coming up north. reno is only an hour away but they get so much more moisture than us.

I want to start walking again, but it needs to get warmer. I need to put my gym back together but not until the boxes are put away and it is too cold in the garage right now. CATCH 22. I think I am making good progress though. I only have knick knacks and art work left to display. Then it is organize the stuff I don't want out right now. camping stuff, boys outgrown clothes, misc hardware, tools. craft stuff. I can't wait to start gardening. I have some kind of flowers in the back yard wanting to bloom. The trees have buds on them and I got stung by a hornet last week. It has been 28 years since I was stung, I was 5 and living in Cleveland. It hurts just as bad as I remember!!!

Is everyone else getting cabin fever too? Just think, in few weeks when the sun returns to us, we will all be outside and we will definately see the scale move down! flower

A few weeks!!!! We will be still in winter until at least the end of March! I usually try to be super busy in February because it seems the longest month. Buds don't appear here until the end of April!

It has been too cold and miserable to walk the dogs even to the Post Office. I want slightly warmer weather. 0F as the "high" for the day just doesn't cut it!

My paperwhite narcissi are in bloom - a wee bit of Spring in the kitchen. I may trudge through the snow today and cut some forsythia branches to force. Anything to get through the rest of the winter!

Try not to weather whine, Ruthie - it's a sign of old age!

I looked out at the thermometer, it was 4 when the sun came up at 7!!! FOUR is not a tempature!!!

I started the eatting plan @ mayoclinic.com today. This hopefully will keep me on track when I remember what a real serving size is ect.
I don't know what branches can be forced to bloom around here. I bought some cute garden things thru a catalog a few weeks ago. They will be here soon. I can't wait to play in the garden! I WILL REMEMBER NOT TO COMPLAIN ABOUT SORE LEGS AND BACK...I WANTED SPRING TO COME!

Just ordered my seeds from Lindenburg. 55 bucks worth. Ruth, I'll probably have way too many if you need anything. Mauvais, weren't you supposed to pick up some herbs last year? Is Dim Sum time coming up?

I got a wildflower seed book. They are just so pretty, but I am going to say no. Just say No Audri. I want to get the old fashioned orange roses that still smell, and I love these climbing trumpet flowers that open and close ea day. I have no idea what they are called. I want some lilys and some hanging baskets. I have lots of containers to plant in this yard. I am definately gonna have lots to do after the last frost.

I feel better after just 3 days of eatting healthy. I might have eatten a few too many veggies that first day, but I cleaned my system out! The high pressure system is finally staring to move, so we may get back to normal winter temps. That I can handle. I am going to Reno this afternoon. I will be good going out to eat. No reason eatting so much fat just because I didn't cook it. I borrowed my stepmoms mini van for the trip. Now we don't have to be so squished. I feel so old driving it though. I am going to be 34 next month, but I feel like I just got out of high school. I wonder if anyone ever feels their age. ~flower

I will be glad when it starts warming up here too, but I can't complain like some places..... our lowest so far this year has been like 18 which is pushing it. Usually runs like lows in the 30's highs in the low 60's from November until March. My grass is turning back green and some of the trees are blooming. I saw some daffodils peeking the other day. My dogs have destroyed all my flowers in the back yard except for my roses and that is just because they can not get to them. None of my flowers I planted last year look like they are going to come back except for maybe my Heather which I have had since we purchased our house.

I love the gray of winter it doesn't "depress" me like some people, it is my favorite time of the year honestly but it does get old not being able to piddle around the yard or in the pond. My fish are probably ready to get fed too, could you imagine not eating from the time the water hit 55 until it warms back up into the 70's? Would be great for a diet huh?

Hope all is well everywhere with everyone.

Amy

Talking Hey...

Hi chickies... I'm back from Thailand! What a life-changing adventure I have had! This has been the most rewarding two weeks of my life. I now have the cure for depression and anxiety and hopelessness and unfullfillment and weight/body issues... spend two weeks in a developing country working in an orphanage! What a blessing this trip has been... life will never be the same for me. I am still trying to recuperate from jet lag after spending 27 hours traveling home. Maybe by tomorrow I will be back to my senses but I am still struggling in Thai time. More later when I am up to sharing!

Welcome back, Sojo! So glad you enjoyed yourself. An orphanage... was there temptation to bring a few home with you?

Amy... you like winter!? You are a nut!! Come up here and we'll show you what winter is really all about.

Mauvais... yes, the offer is still good for this spring/summer. You should walk over. I'll walk you home trundling my son's little wagon, and we'll BOTH get some extra exercise!
