  • Sojo, how did your weekend go? I hope it wasn't too difficult. Often a family "get-together" (funeral) like that can be very therapeutic. It's just too bad that your grandmother couldn't be there. She would have had such a good time.
    hugs, hon.

BTW... Little Dougie IS at home! He emailed my sister the other day. Thanks again for all of your love for him!
  • Ellis - that's great news about Dougie!!!

Ok time for an update on myself.....for those of you who remember the large breast lump I had removed the end of october and My surgan wanted me to see a specialist, i finally did it. I saw a wonderfull Dr. a couple of weeks ago. He said that i needed to have surgary again because they did not get all of it the first time. But I was prepared for that because the report from my surgary said they thought they had cut some of the edge of it. He also gave me some great news, that what i have is not and will not turn to cancer and will not spread. It will more than likely return since they didn't get it all but that i can deal with. They say if i have surgary again it will greatly reduce my chances of it coming back. I haven't decided yet if I want to have surgary again or just wait and see what happens.

Hope all are doing well and prayers and kind thought to those of you who need them.
    MrsM95
  • MrsM, that's great news about your surgery! You really went through a difficult time with that. I'm glad you saw the specialist.
    hugs, hon...
  • Hey - I'm back........

Thanks to all who held my hand before I went to the dentist. Thankfully, I've gotten past it and don't have to go back until 2003 - (January )

    Here's what I've learned:

    (1) dental phobia is real
    (2) even in an emergency, only have work performed by a dentist on a referral basis - don't pick them off a list you find on an insurance company website - there's a reason why some waiting rooms are empty
    (3) valium may help make you drowsy - but not sure what else it it good for.

MrsM95 - glad to hear your news! it is a relief to know that it was treatable and not something worse like cancer

Ellis - as always, you are a ray of sunshine for me.

Wild - your words helped me so much

Terri ( really not a wimp most of the time)
  • Woo hoo! I am glad the dentist went well Terri!!
  • Terri, I'm glad it didn't go too badly! Don't tell me... you're having ANOTHER root canal in JANUARY!?!?!
  • oh no - thankfully it's just the second appointment to finish this one.

Apparently some teeth have long twisty roots ( sorry to be so graphic) so it takes two appointments.

But at least the drilling part is over and the new guy is much more gentle and not nearly so scary.

Seriously, the other dentist could have been a character in a horror movie. I don't know why I didn't run when I first saw him and his crusty dirty eyeglasses and his filthy office (hmm... I was in so much pain I was probably delirious)

Coming back to my senses - Thanks again - Terri

new dentist has clean office, kind staff, better drugs
  • HEY TERRI!! Glad it went so well!!

Mrs.M-VERY glad to hear that you saw the specialist, and that the growth was not cancerous.
  • Well the good news is I had to dig pretty far back to post under this thread.

But I do have a reason to bring it up.

There is a wonderful woman I work with who is going through a really rough time. She got into a car accident Tuesday night. Her car is totaled. She ended up with a broken wrist, a sprained knee, and a sprained ankle, so she can't really walk at all. Her daughter ended up with bruised ribs. All that is bad enough, but yesterday her husband, who had a heart transplant over the summer and has been in and out of the hospital, ended up back in the hospital for a few days with problems stemming from his diabetes. He was upstairs when he had the attack, and she couldn't get up the stairs to help him. Luckily her other daughter was home to help.

Last night a bunch of us got together to make dinners for them. A few of the girls are taking them out tonight. I have a wake to go to.

But if you could all think warm thoughts for Jude, I would appreciate it.

    squeak
  • Squeak, DH and I will say prayers for Jude. You're a sweetheart to make meals for them.
    hugs, hon...
  • You got it Squeak - healing thoughts to Jude and her family.

Very sweet of you to cook for them too! I'm sure they really appreciate it.

    Terri
  • Thank you very much Ellis & Terri.
She is such a sweetheart, and there is only so much a family can take.
  • Sending prayers and healing vibes : for Jude
  • That is REALLY a shame, Squeak. I'm sending healing thoughts in their direction, and just general good thoughts in YOUR direction as well as theirs. You are a sweetheart for making them meals.
  • Good thoughts coming from the west coast!
