Hello GG's!! Well, I'm still playing lazy!! I think I might get to taking the tree down this afternoon though....
Karen, it has been too cold to get out and take any more pictures of the car but I will once it is warm enough to do. We did take it the other night to Red Lobster for dinner but it was dark then.. Here are a couple pictures of us from back in 1970!!! And this other picture my cousin took with her phone the other night at dinner.. I don't think her phone takes good pictures... Some changes for sure! OK Just wanted to touch base with everyone and hope they have a good day! We don't have any plans for tomorrow night to be out... we will probably go and grab a burger and then get in before all the "drinkers" get out on the road... We will enjoy a quiet evening here in front of the fire an have our champagne at midnight. Take care everyone |
2:50 and still counting....15 more minutes and I'll take bets on Sears noshow or show

This is a busy day...not sure yet which day but we will be having "Christmas" with our son and gf either tomorrow or Wed and I want to get some things ready so if I have to I can pull together a meal on short notice. I'm excited as they aren't often both here with us since they work crazy schedules. Want to make some lumpia (filipino..sorta like egg rolls for those who don't know) ahead of time esp. They are easy then to fry whenever you need them. Dh wants a standing rib roast so if they come on Wed it will be kind of a strange meal...snacky things along with a roast, roasted veggies and gravy. :) I think I will serve the roast presliced and they can do what they want with it. If they come Tues it will just be the snacky stuff. I downloaded a diary and started making entries last night...will see how long I continue...usually I forget it when I get busy. But I was reflecting on the 2013...it was the worst year ever for me physically (well, maybe not but I mean in terms of so many things hitting me) but a wonderful year too because of our son moving back.
Karen31 - Always love looking at your old pictures! You were a beautiful bride! Karen3 - Thanks for the hug! Why is it that as I grow older, I appreciate the hugs more?!! Good luck with your surgery. I agree with Jess two knees at the same time seems like a lot to go through. Delmarva - don't worry, by many people's standards my life is very boring but I love it. Jess1- Sorry you've been sick and hope you are getting better. Rosey- glad you got to spend time with your gs...I bet it was hard to see hi leave again though.:( Lynn - You are sure having fun seeing the sights! GFY! Buddha Belly - I had to laugh when I saw your user name as that's what I often call my belly too! I tell dh I should sell tickets for people to rub my belly for good luck! LOL |
OMG he called and will be here in 45 minutes. Says needs a whole new ice maker ($350) don't make just a switch. Bah that's 1/3 the cost of a new refrig.
Phewwweeee! I had all the tiny parts and he was able to put the switch together and we are making ice. Plus he fixed the freezer door as part of the call. Happy Days! |

thank you for welcome. I have had stressful day as my old laptop kicked the bucket and the laptop I had bought last month from Black Friday Sale was put into action. Windows 8. This may cure my internet addiction
Hope all of you not feeling well get better and get your surgeries, etc. My doctor was rather rude to me about my weight but she did give me the kick in the pants I needed. I just wish that all my efforts would continue to pay off and not leave me going up and down with the same 3 lbs. I want down, down, down. My doctor used to be very nice, think she was trying to shock me. I must say at exercise class I had enrolled in last Thanksgiving, I could not get down on the floor and was getting concerned about mobility issues. Now I can do burpees and lunges etc, etc. I am very proud of my progress this year. but why why did it stop. I am off to try and learn more about windows 8 from you tube per the suggestion of the Costco concierge, lol. I hope it helps, and where is the screen cleaner, it should have come with the laptop |
Good Evening girls....I don't usually post at night but I'm hungry and trying to keep busy. I was going to start my calorie counting Jan 1st but that would make Wednesday as the start day. I don't like starting a diet in the middle of the week. I thought today would be a good day to start since I'd be busy all day taking down Christmas decorations. It worked all day until now, think I'll make some 100 calorie popcorn.
This year I decided to wrap plastic wrap around my artificial tree with all the lights and Christmas bulbs/decorations left on so it's all ready for next year and no work. It wrapped up very nicely and we took it downstairs to hibernate for the year. I ordered a new pedometer for tracking my steps. The pedometer fits in your pocket and the reviews say it's very accurate, we'll see. K3...I was wondering about getting both knees done at the same time like Donna. You gonna be in a wheel chair or what? Make DH wait on you hand and foot? Good Plan! As for your slider door exercise, you're too funny. Quote:
Bruce just called, must be something good on TV. Ta Ta __________________ |

I went into the family room to see what was on, he didn't call me. I'm hearing things. I forgot to mention I switched to Google Chrome instead of internet explorer....I love it. I don't have to put my password into 3 fat chicks anymore either. I like the emails better too. This year was the first year we had a fireplace, I went a little heavy on the decorating. (Next year I think I'll tone it down) I cross stitched all those little stockings hanging on the mantle this past year. I purchased a kit and enjoyed working on them at night while watching TV. I'm working on a 4 season cross stitch picture now, just can't sit and do nothing. If I ever end up at a nursing home, I'm gonna be **** on wheels, sticking my nose into everyone's business. :D |
bobbo
those cross-stitch booties are so cute. you know, we have heat. it was 37 degrees today. that's celcius. very hot mama.:hug::hug: my diet is up the creek but i'm fixing it. :dizzy::dizzy::dizzy: i'm going to get 'back on track'. my mum gave me a good talking to. thanx mum.bb:hug::hug::hug: i'm starting tonight. bb:dizzy::dizzy::dizzy: back into intensive phase ( i'm on optifast) for 1 week, i decided, then transition phase like i was on before xmas messed everythomg up. intensive for a week should reset my body system. also i must start drinking my tea again. 2 litres a dsay. that's 2 pots a day. i was doing that before. i must do it again. and waater the rest of the day. like i did before. i had tea first, for the morninvg, while i sat here! :carrot::carrot::carrot: i got up to shower, dress, and get on my dreadmill. :p:p:p i have been on it, only for 5 minutes now because i have to start again (i have a very painful foot - nerve pain…don't ask) anyway, i WAS doing 12 minutes, now 5, but some is better than none, eh? :carrot::carrot::carrot: bfn my friends, happy new year to you all, love, saraphin :hug::hug: xxx |
Good Hola, All...
I decided to stay home today and nurse my cold, especially since we're off tomorrow for NY, anyway. I just don't feel like going to work! Bobbi - the little stockings are darling! I love to see what everyone else does for decorating (I have a plastic snowman in the window). I'll be interested to hear what KarenFL's doc says about doing both knees, too. When my friend had them both done in March, she was in a rehab facility for a week after surgery, then went home to her devoted husband and a ranch style house. They had to renovate the bathroom in her absence to accommodate a new shower w/o tub and the handicapped height toilet. She went back to a sit-down job in August and remains on 4-hr light duty days. In her case, there was no choice; I'm not sure she'd have made the same decision, had she been given a choice. My hip is feeling pretty good! Four days without getting in and out of a car... and the neighbor doing Mom's grocery shopping!... nothing has hurt me for four days, and I feel pretty darn good! If I could retire and stay home, I wouldn't mind waiting for at least June for my hip replacement! I have lots of books and crochet projects to keep me amused, and so I'm off... Everyone - be well! Later, lovelies! |
Hey Donna...I got a handicap toilet a few years ago as a birthday present. DH was shocked when I announced that or nothing. We have a walk in shower because of his hips and a shower seat. My light duty would be about 4 hours of bridge! See I am ready.
Happy Early New Year everyone. We are going out for dinner at Peck's in Ozella. It is about 11 miles off Rt19, but the narrow road over rice marshes and around tumps with gators and hogs. Limits any booze because of the trip home in the dark. For my last meal before level one will prob be almond crusted grouper. OMG is that good. The fruit in my bourbon old fashion will be dessert. Looked a the weather map....stay warm and inside tonight you northern folks. Between drunks and ice it looks like it could get nasty. And I need my chicks AKO. BBL |
Just a quick post as I have much to do to prepare for tonights dinner plus trying to catch up a bit more on my house cleaning. So far I've done most of my daily cleaning, and washed two loads of laundry, and about to sweep and steam mop kitchen floor.
Here's tonight's menu: Beef Lumpia (traditionally it is pork but I prefer beef with onions, cabbage and carrots) Lumpia Sauce St Louis BBQ Ribs Baked/roasted? brussel sprouts Banana Lumpia - mine's pretty simple, just banana sprinkled with brown sugar, fried in coconut oil and a sprinkling of powered sugar before serving. Chai Latte and other beverages for those who want them. Decided no candy or other Christmasy desserts because I'm sure they've had all that. You all have a wonderful New Year's Eve! |
Happy New Years everyone. The January post is up and running.:newyear::newyear::newyear:
