Gayle, I have recipes like that too--- I took them to office max or wherever and had them laminated... I also have my Dad's social Security card and laminated it too!! I just love that someone else thinks like that too!

About to go to bed ...very early for me ..but I am tired. Hope you had a great Christmas Eve and that you will have a special day tomorrow with family and/or friends. I plan to sleep in, then wrap a few gifts and then go to our dd's in the evening. Good night, my golden friends!

Hi everyone..just got back from a candlelight service at our church with my kids and grkids,got back and had pizza and watched our yearly movie chevy chase xmas vacation.. lots of fun. tomorrow about 30 of use for dinner,wanted to wish you all a merry Christmas and to tell you im so blessed to have you as my friends. Merry Christmas everyone,
It is kind of a quiet peaceful day here. We had our gathering with Sara and our side of the family yesterday. She found a thing on Netflix ~ it shows on your TV screen a fire in a fireplace. Not quite the same as a real one, but kind of neat and pretty to look at. We had fun opening presents, then shared a meal. So, a quiet day here. Time to get rested up for looking after Maddie during the rest of Christmas vacation ~ LOL. My daughter got me one of those grumpy cats (stuffed toy). I asked her if she was trying to give me a message? She said no. Whew. LOL. Hope you all are having a wonderful day today. Take care |
Happy Christmas Day everyone! It a nice quiet day for us so far today. We will go to our dd's this evening. I gave dh cologne for his gift. He hasn't used cologne for several years due to me getting headaches to so much of it and I know he likes it, so thought we'd give it another try. So far it's been ok. He gave me a robe which I needed. I caught up on my sleep so hopefully I'll be fine tonight with the kids. You all have fun and enjoy your holiday!
ETA: I guess I forgot to mention that last night we went to our dd's church for Christmas Eve service and heard the children's choir in which our gd and gs sang. All the kids were so cute. Our gs did very well...and it was fun to watch our gd...she's only 4 and she sometimes does it right and sometimes does her own thing, but she tries. ;) And she looked very pretty. It was a very nice service and kind of different than what we usually have in our own church. Traffic to/from was pretty bad but I'm glad we went. |

Good Morning girls....nothing exciting going on here this morning. We have lots of calorie loaded food/sweets to eat. I'm planning on starting my campaign Monday morning, all treats should be gone by then. I will be calorie counting and posting my daily intake here to keep me accountable. I'll change my ticker on monday too, not sure how much higher it'll be. :?:
Tiffany gave both Bruce and I a kit to find our heritage, it's called 23andMe. That should be interesting to see who's in my background. I'm 100% Danish but Tiff said that's only in my recent past. But when you think about it, everyone came from Adam and Eve so we're all related. Right? Bruce and I got out skiing yesterday, it was beautiful out with all the fresh snow. We took each others pictures since it's our first skiing of the season plus skiing in town. We went thru a huge cemetery and I found a neat old monument of the founder of our hospital. See picture. Good Morning GG's!! Hope everyone had a good Christmas! I'd like to be just plain lazy today but need to get in gear and be ready for Bible study this afternoon. It just seems like it has been go, go, go, most of this month and I'm kind of a stay at home person. Once I get through our anniversary/New Year's Eve then things will get back to some sort of Normal!
I refuse to get near the scales until after the first of January-- still have a Red Lobster dinner to go to and Champagne for New Years.. Then it will be time to get serious. Bobbi, loved the pictures. I've never been on skis but I'll bet it is fun. No time this morning for individual comments but Have A Great Day! |
I typed up a post and then lost it so will try again. We had a nice Christmas yesterday...talked with my sister on phone, then went to our dd's in the evening. The kids liked our gifts. Our gd wasn't feeling too well though...tired from too many late nights (she's 4) with other family and by the time we left she felt feverish, so maybe has another virus. Their whole family has been hit with different forms of virus recently. We came home with two GC for eating out, a bottle of champagne and a beautiful white snowy looking ornament that says "Connected by Love, Guided by Faith." I love it! So now we have one ornament on our tree.
I lay in bed late this morning reflecting on the goodness of God but also dreading the temptation of all the food in the house! :D Last night I told dh I'd like to throw away most of it and he didn't like that idea. But by the time I was out of bed this morning, he had thrown away two pies except for a couple pcs he kept for himself! I had kinda hid the candy so he didn't find it but before the holidays I was doing ok with it. If it gets to be too much temptation it will have to go too. Karen31 - Glad to hear you're up and about, not lazy like me. I've now washed a couple loads of laundry but sure got a late start on the day. I've been lazy enough for both of us! I stepped on the scale but I'm not telling....hopefully I'll have it back down soon. Jess - Glad you had a nice Christmas and now have some time to rest. Bobbi - Enjoyed the pics. You look very nice. We've never skied either. Seems like it would be good exercise. And you got to the gym too! GFY! I planned to go today but it was one of those nights with little sleep and I couldn't get out of bed. Dh didn't go either. Lynn - Hope you had a great time,...I remember you had some fun plans. Glynne - Glad you enjoyed time with your family. Rest up!:D Hi to everyone else!
