There is Value in us
There is Power in us
There is Wisdom in us
And Laughter....
We are a rainbow of unique wonders,
There is love in us.
(poem by Dorothy Holmes)

Tell us a little about your life, family and goals. What keeps you motivated? What is the best thing that's happened to you since you passed the 50 mark? 60 mark? 70 mark? Friends laugh, cry and stand by each other, we'll be that to you!

HaHa, HaHa, KarenFL!

Happy December, All!

glynne 12-01-2013 10:51 AM

Good December morning GG's,

:carrot::carrot::carrot: Yippee ~ only 4 more weeks left of 2013 ~ keeping positive thoughts that 2014 will be a better year

Maybe yesterday was a turn around point of things beginning to look up. It was a good day. Beautiful weather ~ about 70* and sun shining.

We did not go shopping on Thursday or Black Friday, but ventured out on Saturday afternoon. The places we went weren't too bad ~ not crowed or unruly rude people. Thank goodness. We weren't doing Christmas shopping, just some regular errands and hitting a good sale on fabric.

Fleece was on sale 70% off at Joann Fabric, so I got a piece for DD Jen's baby (due in March) one for her little girl Evie. I had made one for Evie when she was a baby, but wanted to make her one now (she is 3 yrs old) that she is a "big girl" :) I make those no sew blankets, you just tie knots in the fringe around the edge. I have made them for Corbin and Maddie, a baby one for Evie. They are easy to do, and fun. They are really supposed to be made of two layers of fleece tied together, but I found that one layer is plenty warm enough.

Also got a piece to make one for the big kid ~ DH. There was a piece he thought was cute and wanted to get for Evie, but DD Jen probably wouldn't have liked it, she's kind of uppity. So, I told him ~ why don't we get you a piece of the one you like, and we'll let Maddie do the knot tieing and make one for Grandpa. I guess the price was good enough that he didn't think that was a frivolous thing to do.

Then got a couple pieces for a project for Maddie to work on. She has been wanting to learn to sew, but she is not patient with herself, and is easily frustrated. She wants her efforts to turn out looking ~ not like something a beginner made, but something made by someone who has been doing it a long time. We keep telling her, that it takes practice and patience. Anyway, I found this pattern for a version of the no sew blanket ~ where you have squares like a quilt that you tie together. I showed it to Sara and she felt that that would be something that Maddie could do. There are 48 squares, so that should keep her busy for a while. She can work on it at her own pace, and if she doesn't take to it now, we can probably put it up until she is interested in it.

Found a shirt in the right size and color to finish a sewing project I was working on.

Found the hose to my air pump for the air mattress, so that was good, didn't have to buy another one.

DH had coupons for a free burger for each of us for supper.

It was a good day.

DD Sara has a friend who she introduced to DS Jason a time back. They have spent some time together the last couple weekends ~ seem to have hit it off. Maybe this one will work out for him. He seems to be "unlucky in love". So, keeping my fingers crossed for him. Also for him to find a job. His work place is closing the end of this month.

Now if DD Sara would get her head screwed on straight and leave scum boy in her dust........(sorry, K3 ~ hope that thought didn't violate the keep it positive rule for December).

Donna ~ like your December avatar pic :D

Come on sun shine ~ come back today.

Hope you all are having a good weekend.

Take care

Karen3 12-01-2013 02:24 PM

Reporting back about the one bowl apple cake. I burned my tongue eating it hot out of the oven. It is a keeper recipe. The changes I made with Splenda brown sugar/apple sauce/half ww flour were fine. It looked like apple slices in cake batter and baked in a lump. Oh and cut the cinnamon to 1 TBsp.

I have a new 3FC role......ear worm.....If you screw up you will hear me nagging you. Right? Cajun?

maryea 12-01-2013 04:33 PM

Karen3, your recipe sounds good. So you used Splenda brown sugar for the regular sugar in the recipe? Also did you use egg beaters for the eggs? How much applesauce did you use for the fat?

We've had a fun day. Took the kids to the hotel where mama and daddy were staying and they took them to the park to get them all set up for the run. We went to Starbucks for breakfast and then to the run. It was fun to watch all the little ones. Our gs ran alone but his little sis "ran" with mama. At first she refused to run, so mama said ok we can skip...so they skipped then toward the end she got more enthusiastic and they ran. :D I think our gs (7) was in first place but it was really hard to tell for sure. They didn't award them according to place at this age (everyone got a medal and a candy cane), and I was also a bit confused about the different waves. But he was fast and certainly one of the first if not first. Very proud of him! I think it will be the first of many runs for him. So another runner in the family.

Then we went to Home Depot for a small item and left with a lighted tree. I've wanted one for a while. We got the cheapest 6.5 ft. we could get but it's fine just for us. We'll set it up sometime this week probably. Dh plans to hang the outside lights the first part of the week. Our son ended up not having time to help but he really doesn't need help, just was going to take it since it was offered.

Seems like everyone is starting Christmas early this year. Even I am beginning to get into the shopping mood although I probably wouldn't last long in the stores. Going to start looking online.

Gayle - Sounds like you had a productive day. Can't say I've gotten much done with the kiddos in the house. I got them to bed at just right time (instead of late like Friday) last night but they woke up at 5:30 talking and laughing. I thought oh, no...but then they got really quiet so guess they went back to sleep and slept til about 7:20 am....a reasonable time for us to get up and get ready to go to the run.

glynne 12-01-2013 05:22 PM

Thinking of you K3 ~ turkey sandwich ~ yum :D

Thought of Donna earlier ~ steamed cabbage and polish sausage ~ again ~ yum :D

maryea 12-01-2013 09:08 PM

I just posted a turkey and dumpling soup I made tonight that we really liked so thought I'd share. Now all our turkey lefitovers are gone! :D Since we don't usually eat much, I made 1/2 the recipe except I did keep the broth the same to be sure it had enough broth. Dh likes his food pretty moist. Turned out just right.

akrosey49 12-01-2013 09:23 PM

I everyone I had such a wonderful thanksgiving with my family, good food, and lots of laughing. it was -20 out but we were nice and warm. thurs nite my dd and grdd and I went to pre sales at wallmart. crazy but fun, everyone well behaved and respectful,i had to wait for a ridey cart. my grdd was looking for the new play station game.. she didn't get one but I scored on a cool pics Nikon camera for 49$ that I had been wanting. then sat us girls went to the craft fair( where I got a pair of beach glass earrings, and ajar of pepper apple jelley Yum ),shopping at the mall and then to bingo,it was such fun to have agirls day out. everyone left early this am. including my steve. hes having surg on his neck Monday am. since I don't drive and my dd house isn't handicapped set up and hard for me to function there without steves help. we decided it would be easier for me to stay home. my youngest was going to drive me up for the day however she couldn't get the day off. so my dd will stay with her dad and keep me informed on steve. hes suppose to be in the hosp 2 days and then we can fly him home. its a 4 hr drive but a 20 min flight from anch to kenai. im a bit apprehensive and guilty for not being there but steve understands:( and wants me at home safe taking care of the dogs and house where I can manage very well alone. where as my dd and her husband both work and I cant manage my dogs and my self alone at her house. as long as my dd will be there to make sure hes ok then im good with things as they are. hope you all had agreat thanksgiving  rosey

Bobbolink 12-02-2013 09:22 AM

We're headed to the Y, so this will be short.

K3...what was the recipe you said was a keeper?

Donna...I didn't even notice the new avatar until Glynne mentioned it....how cute! The cat didn't look like she/he enjoyed getting his pic taken.
Mary...I made soup yesterday too, mine was a 5 Star recipe I printed off allrecipes.com. Turkey Taco soup, made enough for tonight's supper too. I'll check yours out when I click off.

My jeans are a tad tighter this morning, why? I'm not going to ruin my day by getting on the scale, just need to put that @#$%^&* GREAT PUMPKIN DESSERT away. I tried to make them diet friendly, used fat free evaporated milk, Stevia and egg beaters in them. The pumpkin dessert is to die for. Anyone make them for Thanksgiving? It's a basic pumpkin pie recipe for the bottom of a 9x12 pan, then top it off with dry cake mix that you've chopped up butter and walnuts in. I hide it in the back of the frig this morning so I won't see it. That works right?

Rosey...We'll all be thinking of Steve and his surgery, pray for a good doctor and his healing. We've been watching the Alaska below zero reality show, you said some of it is fiction? We still enjoy watching those folks that live on the land. The cop series from Alaska is interesting too.
Bruce is calling....bye

glynne 12-02-2013 12:04 PM

Bobbi ~ I have a similar Thanksgiving dessert recipe. I don't especially care for pumpkin pie, but this dessert as you say ~ is to die for. It came from one of those little tear out recipe booklets that are in magazines ~ especially at holiday time. This one from Womans Day ~ with recipes using Bisquick.

The crust part is bisquick, quick oats, brown sugar and margarine mixed together until crumbly and baked a few mintues, then pumpkin pie fixed up like pie filling and poured over top and baked a little more, then finally topped with some brown sugar, margarine and chopped nuts and sprinkled on the top and baked a little more. Refrigerate and serve topped with cool whip.

Hiding it in the back of the fridge doesn't work for this one either Bobbi. ;)

In a similar tear out booklett ~ with recipes for Quaker oats, is a recipe I use for some of the left over turkey. A casserole ~ kind of like a stew on the bottom topped with biscuits on the top. Yum.

maryea 12-02-2013 05:23 PM

finally got back to the gym today. Didn't walk as fast or jog as I usually do but I walked faster on the short ends and then slowed down for the whole last lap except for places I had to jog around people. I got my mile in and then I rode the bike going to no where for 12 min. Also used the hand bike for 6 min and a couple other machines for a couple reps of 10. It was enough for first day back. I wish I could get back to being more consistent. My weight is slowly dropping back down but I have to admit I haven't really tracked my eating. I start out tracking but then forget or don't want to bother to look up ingredients for something I made. Trying to stick to it today. Talking about recipes I prepared some great St Louis Style spareribs for Thanksgiving. Everyone loved them. I only tasted a bit but it was good to me too. It was not diabetic friendly however. I'm keeping the recipe though for company/get-togethers.

We ran some errands on the way home, and since I've been home, I've been doing the first of the month budgeting, did some decluttering, cleaning and rearranging of my cupboards and pantry, and just now I put banana bread in the oven. I very rarely bake but didn't want to waste the bananas. No actual "housework" done so far today though.

Dh hung the Christmas outside lights and has brought in the new tree and decorations. Not sure when I'll get to it though.

Cajunlady165 12-03-2013 09:35 AM

Good morning. The tree is up and everything decorated. I'm having a difficult time getting into the Xmas spirit. I'm feeling the effects of both our sons living in their own homes. Then came the stockings. What to do with those. I'm thinking I might buy 2 more for the girls and stuff them all. I loved watching them dig in their stockings.
Saturday only deer stand I had a buck come out in front of me but it was a little too dark to make out what kind of horns he had. So I didn't shoot. I watched 4 deer for 1 1/2 hours. The time passed quickly.

Karenfl ok here goes. Don't be too rough on me. I had a difficult weekend but I'm back on plan. Will it cost me a gain yes probably so. Weigh in is tomorrow. Hope it's not too bad.

Bobbi please send some of your Xmas spirit my way. I feel like a grinch.

Gayle it sounds like you have the Xmas spirit too. Thinking good thoughts for ds and his new friend.

Work calls. No time left. Hi to all I missed.

Hugs
Cajun

Bobbolink 12-03-2013 09:42 AM

Cajun...put on some Christmas music, think of stocking stuffers for everyone and go shopping!
Quote:

Bobbi please send some of your Xmas spirit my way. I feel like a grinch.

Karen3 12-03-2013 11:45 AM

Okay...Cajun I am glad you tried. Being out in all that fresh air has always been a danger to me. It just makes not only food taste so good but you get too sleepy to care. I have lots of memories of sitting in my tree stand with a good book and deer playing below me. I bow hunted for deer, elk and bear. Until I was so entranced by a bull elk popping over a blow down and I had a nocked arrow in hand, but watched in awe. Put down my bow and picked up a camera. Now days if I could get in a stand they'd have call the fire company to get me down.

Bobbi...I posted the one bowl apple cake in Nov. I redid it a bit using sf apple sauce(for oil), egg beaters and splenda brown. Fitday says it was 1200 cal for 9x13 cake. It was so funny. (DH would eat dog poop if it was wrapped in apple.) The cake was on the counter covered in foil and every time I went into the kitchen there was a chunk missing. He loved sneaking spoonfulls. Amazing part was after all that snacking his am BS was only 126!

Rosey...How did Steve make out? And how did your me time work out? OMG I would give an arm for me time.

I have a beautiful woven wreath with dried cranberries tied to it. I didn't want to hang it on our new metal door and scratch it. Used one of those temp hooks on the brick next to the door. Looks fabulous except a wren is trying to build a nest. The indigo painted bunting is back. Wonder where he summers?

Karen...did you get to the light show?

Lynn...when do you come down here? Weather is gorgeous. Supposed to be 80 today and 60's tonight.

We decided to take a quick trip to NC to see DD before Christmas. 10-11 hrs trip. If we take my car Dash sleeps the whole trip, but if we take the jeep he stands the whole trip. Told you he's a weird insane dog.

Need to get a few cards. Happy day everyone.....k3

ps Gayle...thanks now I have another cake/pie to try

deelee10 12-03-2013 12:45 PM

Hi all-

I posted a lengthy note in November. It was an update of our wonderful trip teaching English poor children in Cambodia. One of the best things DH and I have ever done.

It also updated on DM. Not a happy story.
I took it down after about 12 - 14 hours. I was embarrassed - decided it was TMI.

Other than that, things are good except I fell off the diet wagon in a big weigh - pun intended - so I will be spending most of time at the Ideal Protein thread trying to get back on the wagon. I just wanted to say hi to the ladies that thought of me in the last couple of months - Gayle, Mary. And Deelou, I would love to hear about your brother's work.

Hugs to all...

glynne 12-03-2013 12:58 PM

K3 ~ I wasn't sure when you said ~ thanks now I have another recipe to try ~ if you really wanted to try it, or if you were ready to hit me with the rolling pin for my food porn. Anyway ~ if you really did want to try it ~ I posted the recipe up in the recipe section.

Cajun ~ sorry that you are still struggling with the adjustment to your sons not living in your home anymore. Maybe it would help to think of it this way ~ be thankful that they live fairly nearby (doesn't one live sort of right out back of you?) ~ and that even though they are not right in your house, you still get to see them fairly often. There are people whose kids live far away, and maybe they only get to see them once a year of less. Like Bobbi said ~ put on some Christmas music and think of how to fill those stockings. And every chance you get ~ hug on them and be thankful for how often you can get to do that. Hope you are not mad at me for saying that ~ just want you to feel better.

Deelee ~ glad you popped in. Don't feel bad about your other post. You are going through a lot, and sometimes it helps to write about it. Hope things ease up for you.

maryea 12-03-2013 01:50 PM

Continuing to drop my weight back down. Last night I was tempted to eat more but realized I'd only be putting off my getting back down to 160 so I stopped. Praise God! :carrot: This morning I was down a little more than a pound, so I'm really glad I didn't eat more. I did go over on my carbs so my bs was pretty high. Funny, I didn't even think about my carbs until it was too late. Shows I still need to work on that. Also yesterday I started coughing and by bedtime I knew I'd caught my gd's cold. Dh went out about 8:30 pm for cough drops and Nyquil for me. I have such a sweet dh...he hates the cold yet he did it for me, that is sacrificial love. :)

Sitting here listening to the preview of our Sunday message ...it's going to be so good! Can hard wait! We missed last Sunday due to the kids run.

We didn't get the tree completely set up yesterday but today we will I think.
We don't hang stockings anymore unless the gc are here. Just do the tree and a few other decorations. I have an old nativity set I always set out...we always allowed the children (ours and some of the gc who visited) to play with it so some of the pieces are chipped. I keep thinking I'll buy another unbreakable one but never have. Guess I like the nostalgia value of this old one.

Well better get to work...

Good afternoon Goldens! It hs been a busy morning in fact I'm just getting to my computer! We haven't got any snow YET! in fact it is about 60 degrees here right now and just beautiful. But tomorrow the high is only about 40 and then freezing rain to start and then snow Thursday and Friday, with highs only in the 20's!!

We had great time with my son, his gf and her two boys for Thanksgiving. They got here on Thursday afternoon and left Sunday after church. It was a nice time and she seems very nice. The kids, two boys, 6 & 4 had a great time decorating the tree and it looks fantastic!!

Now I need to get out and find a birthday gift for hubby (11th) a wedding gift for my niece (14th) ALL the Christmas shopping (haven't started) and a birthday gift for our grandson(30th) then our anniversary the 31st!! Don't have much to do at all!!! HA!!

Hope everyone has a great Day!!

glynne 12-03-2013 03:46 PM

Cute Christmas card Karen31 :)

Cajunlady165 12-03-2013 05:30 PM

Bobbi yesterday when I was decorating my tree I saw the boys 2 camo stockings. I'd decided I wasn't going to stuff them this year. But I did leave them out. This morning I was thinking of them digging in those stockings and seeing the joy on their faces just like little kids. I decided I was going to stuff them and this afternoon I ordered 2 pink camo stockings for their girlfriends and I'm going to stuff those too. Thanks. Your right Xmas music always gets me in the spirit.

Karenfl I didn't mess up extremely bad but enough to mess up weight loss. I love being on a stand in the woods listening and watching the deer. I love when the owls start whooting. Sp. I still climb in a stand straight up about 15 feet.

Gayle I was reading your post and I thought that's exactly what I have been doing. Thanksgiving day several times when passing I grabbed my boys and hugged tight. Sitting at the table eating my oldest was sitting next to me looking all handsome with his cowboy hat on and I looked at him and said " you sure look handsome today" he laughed and said uh oh she's lonesome. He look at me and said your lonesome mom? I said yea. He said I can tell. I would never be mad at you for pointing out that they are nearby and you are so right. My pity party is over thanks to some wonderful golden friends. I will hug them more often and every hug I give I will dedicate that hug to a mom that can't hug her child right now. Now I have tears in my eyes.

Karen 31. I like your card too. Lovely family!!!

Deelou 12-04-2013 06:57 AM

Silly me...I kept looking at the Nov thread thinking buy everyone is quiet! Duh! We had Thanksgiving at my daughter who lives at the beach, her hubby's family and the three of us...17in all, I did fine but have stopped and then trying to start lower carb again...gained....anytime I eat over 1000 cals a day....I know I am fighting some depression with this thyroid as well and tried St. John's wort but though it helped it gave me headaches...so back to prayer and trying to figure out what best to eat....I just do not like veggies and fruit much so have to force myself, and low carb means a lot of protein which not sure is best...trying to balance it. I have my endocrinologist appointment Dec 17..all famil except our daughter at home still will be elsewhere for Christmas....

Bobbolink 12-04-2013 09:10 AM

Cajun...I have a Christmas CD we play every year that you'd enjoy. It's Christmas songs played with wildlife and critter sounds, no human voices. It's so peaceful. Now that I'm thinking about it, I wonder where it is? We stuffed things here and there when we moved, no telling where it is.

Karen...love the Christmas card. I make ours too, usually with Charlie on the picture. Ginger looks like she enjoys having her pic taken, sissy not so much.

Rosey...how's Steve?

K3...we have so many apples, would you print out your recipe?

Hi Dee and Donna

Glynne...do you get to stay home? (I hope so) You can help out a lot at home just by putting yourself on a budget, start cooking everything from scratch (processed and box mixes are expensive, plus you eat lots of chemicals) . Stop using the dryer, hang wet laundry out on the clothes lines. Shut off lights you don't use, lots of sites on the internet about being frugal. I quit work about 15 years ago and never missed the money until Bruce retired. He forgets he's living on social security, sometimes I have to yell at him. Like when he purchased another Harley Davidson. I'm still mad about that.

We're off to the YMCA, I can't wait. NOT:(

jess1 12-04-2013 09:52 AM

Good Hola, All...

CK - love the card! Don't forget to add my present from Branson to your list of to-do items!!

Snowing here, lightly, but it's 14 and COLD. I'd love to stay home!

Got an email from the ortho surgeon's office telling me to call and schedule! I guess they think this is important. I was just at the PCP on Monday, for heaven's sake! X-rays do show bone on bone arthritis, so I guess my timing is right. I hope I can get this surgery done early in the new year.

Nothing to report. Nothing is new, especially the wanting to stay at home part... sigh!

Everyone, be well. Later, lovelies.

Wannabehealthy 12-04-2013 10:03 AM

Maryea - I am so glad to hear that your colon pain is gone. I'm sure it's a relief to you.

We have a very old nativity set that my husband had all of his adult life. The stable was just cardboard and it fell apart, but we bought a stable that a man was selling that he made by hand. It's lovely, and made to look old. Believe it or not, I had a dog who loved to bat the pieces around with his paw. Last year, I got a white Christmas tree and at a flea market, I bought a white porcelain nativity set to use with it, but this year I'm back to the green tree and the old nativity set. It's nice to buy new things, but there's something to be said about using the old traditional decorations.

ladyinweighting 12-04-2013 10:36 AM

Hi Everyone,

Still in PA. Maybe we will leave for FL tomorrow. My SIL's brother-in-law is having open-heart surgery today. He wants to wait until his BIL is out of danger.

My computer has been fighting with me & winning. I tried to download a free program & something called Artemis Portal invaded my internet browsers. I will wait till I get to FL to find someone to fix. Staples said it would take them 3-4 days.

Hope everyone is enjoying the holiday season.

Lynn

Cajunlady165 12-04-2013 10:40 AM

Bobbi I would love thst cd. Can you please give me the name of it.
Hugs.

Help Please....how do you get crazy glue off the tops of your fingers. I got it peeled off my finger tips but there is a coating on the back of my hands. Long stupid story and won't admit I am the stupid one....tried mineral spirits, nail polish remover, laundry soap and nail file....???????

Deelou 12-04-2013 12:48 PM

My hubby says acetone...maybe your nail polish remover was the non acetone kind....

maryea 12-04-2013 02:04 PM

My weight is continuing to drop..2 more pounds to go to get to my pre-trip/pre-thanksgiving weight. I hope I don't do this at Christmas again! I'm still coughing a lot esp at night. I don't like to go out when I'm coughing so much so staying home mostly. Think I'll do some gift shopping online today and maybe get a few Christmas cards ready to go out to those who are not online. I hope this cough is gone soon.

Cajun - I'm sorry but no, my colon pain is still present. It is mild but doctor still wants me to consult a surgeon on the 12th. I wish it would just go away!
:^: It's great you can climb up the 15 ft to hunt. Not sure I could do that anymore....maybe I could, but I haven't tried it. I can still do most things but I move slower than I used to.

Lynne - Sorry to hear about your computer? Have you tried searching your files/programs for that name. It's worth a try. If you do find it you may be able to just delete it yourself and save $$$. First check your programs in Control panel, it may show up there. If not search all your files. I have been able to get rid of bad things this way many times in the past, however recently I had one I couldnt. It downloaded with something else I downloaded and installed. I set my computer back to a previous time and thought it was gone but then started noticing it again. It had a different name each time it came up as a website. And if I forgot and clicked on a link it would bring up all kinds of advertising offers instead of what I wanted. So with that one I wasn't successful, but turned out I decided to download/install Win 8.1 and it seems to be gone now. BTW, I'm not recommending 8.1 however...I like it in some ways but it other ways I don't. Kind of awkward to use the newer features. I do think it is faster though. Anyway good luck with it!

Hi Mary,

Thank you for your help. What I have sounds like what you describe. I get ads EVERYWHERE!

Checked for the name (Artemis Portal) - does not appear in my programs list.

Someone told me to use Malwarebyte. I did. It found 100+ problem files. I deleted them all. Did not get rid of the Artemis Portal malware, but did delete stuff I needed to get online. I spent an hour with my Phoenix Tech Support & got back my online access.

There are a bunch of solutions for removing Artemis Portal online, but most involve downloading programs. At this point, I am afraid to download anything.

When I get down to FL, I will find a computer repair place & see if they can help.

Lynn - there's a program called HitmanPro. It's wonderful, and there's a free trial. It finds and deletes things better than I've ever seen. It's safe and well respected. Once you run it, it will give you the option to delete or ignore. Delete away! Hope this helps.

Bobbi I posted the One Bowl Apple Cake in recipes. So easy!

With Fitday using subs the calories were about 1200 for the whole cake k3

Good morning golden girls. I couldn't resist. I took a peak at the scale this morning. 1 lb gain. Hopeful next week will be better. Nothing going on but work. Check back later.

Good afternoon GG's,

Working on sewing name labels on some clothes I got my mom for Christmas. At the nursing home, they have to have their name on all their clothes. I got her a cute pair of winter pajamas. A couple pairs of Christmasy socks and a Christmasy top.

My computer lies ~ it says it is 77* outside. So, I went out to ride my bike. Stepped out of the garage and decided I had better go back for a sweater. I was wearing capri length pants, and sandals. I finished my 1/2 hour, but wished I had worn regular pants, socks and shoes and mittens and a hat.

Had some nice warm soup for lunch. Made it out of leftovers. Chicken broth, thanksgiving turkey, a little bit of potato, carrots, green beans, then sprinkled with a little onion salt and some kind of spice (kind of like Mrs. Dash). Yummy.

Ok, I'd better get back to work ~ soon Maddie's bus will drop her off. Then the fun begins. ;)

Hope you all are having a nice day.

Take care

Weight stable today despite pizza last night. Didn't feel like cooking. Coughed and up to the bathroom all night, feel miserable. Funny I can stand pain pretty well but a silly cold just wipes me out. I hope it is gone soon. I have no energy and I have things to do!

Dh's niece (mid-to late 50s I'd guess) passed away last night. She had ca and was home on hospice. They had given her 6 mo but it was only about a week I think. Feel sorry for her parents, I know they are taking it very hard.

Glynne - I love leftover soup! When we first retired I made it once a week for lunch. It was always different. As long as the broth is good I can eat it. Now I only cook dinner (and not doing that much these days).

Hi to everyone, I wanted to eat lunch but just can't think of anything that sounds good so guess I'll take a nap instead.

Cajun...sorry but I can't find the Christmas wildlife CD. I'm thinking it was in the boxes of stuff we donated to the church rummage sale. I hope not and I can't remember where I purchased it.
I purchased on cyber Monday a nice Acer Chrome laptop and it's giving me a headache. It has Gmail on it as a primary and I couldn't figure out how to access it. Finally called my grandson, he said he'd be over ASAP. But I think I just figured it out myself, yes I'm proud enough to not let computers get the best of me or show my stupidity to my grandson. I don't mind telling the Golden Girls, we've all been there and you all seem to have the answers. Thank you CP geeks!

Now that I've wasted so much time with my cp mess, I better quite gabbing and do some laundry.

Still not feeling well...the cough still and am so sore from hacking..plus my back is now achy, can't stand to stay upright very long. I have hope that it will all go away soon...:^: We got a little snow today. Staying in, not doing much of anything, eating little because nothing sounds or tastes good. At last my weight has dropped down a little bit below my sig weight again.
