Very quick good hola!

Bobbi - the French Onion Soup sounds good! BTW, did you see Dottie's Weight Loss Zone this week? I thought it was really a good one. For those of you who aren't familiar with DWLZ, here's a link: http://www.dwlz.com/archive/current.html

Nothing to report. It looks beautiful outside! I have to get rolling early this morning, because I have to drop off GM's groceries on the way to work. It throws me off all my routines to have to get moving 1/2 hour earlier! Wah wah!

Have a good Thursday, all!

My weight has been slowly creeping up with all the traveling we were doing and my not being so careful (well not really careful at all sometimes!) even since then. I recently read Body Confidence It is not altogether new stuff but stresses the need for proper proportions of protein, fiber and carbs. It is basically high protein, high fiber and low carb at EVERY meal and you are to eat six meals a day (every 3 hours). You can forget it all for one meal now and then so you can eat whatever you want then. That book along with diabetic cookbook and Readers Digest book, Reverse Diabetes has motivated me a bit to try better again.

My challenge (besides the protein and fiber) is to get 3 dairy servings, 3 fruit servings and at least 5 veggies each day. Now, mind you, this is ONLY a challenge for me because of my need to keep my blood sugar down and my craving for too many other snacks. So that is really my challenge, as always, cutting out many of my snacks. I eat healthy snacks for the most part but also will eat any junk if it's around. So I'm not buying anymore mocha mix (my mochas are at least 1/3 junk plus I want to drink them too often;-) ) and I've asked dh to stop bringing other junkier snacks into our house so often. Supposedly if you get enough protein and fiber, your cravings go away....well, we'll see.

We are back to the gym, and I'm doing my back exercises (per PT) but I am somewhat restricted in movement as my left arm is still hurting. If it is not much better by next week, I have an appointment with the doctor to check it. I haven't started back with PT because of it.

Last Sat we went to the Globe Trotters game. Not sure If I've mentioned that...it was fun. Our dd and her dh and children were there too. We couldn't all sit together but we had each of the children with us for 1/2 of the game and we were all able to sit together during the pregame time (we bought magic passes through groupon) and had lunch together. So it was a nice family time.

I finally got my Christmas present from my dh! We bought our own gifts this time and I just kept putting off shopping for mine. I wanted a new jewelry box and finally found one I liked online. It arrived yesterday and I didn't realize how much jewelry I have until I started filling it. My old box was not big enough so much of it was in drawers. Now I can put most of it in the new box but not quite all still. At least I will see it more now and perhaps actually wear it...usually I only wear earrings but I have lots of necklaces and bracelets too I haven't worn in years. Bought most of them years ago when I was working but they are still pretty. I even have some bracelets I have bought more recently but have NEVER worn.

Rosey - You eat so little compared to me. I understand why but I still marvel..:-O The mini pizzas sound good and so does the Swiss steak and mashed potatoes!

Bobbi - I'm like you...not a big meat eater though I do like a little beef and fish. I like beans but then they are also carbs plus dh doesn't care for them. I tend to get a lot of my protein from milk, nuts and pb...these are ok, but all contain carbs and I tend to overeat the nuts and pb so all that healthy fat adds up too. The doctor says my arteries can't tell the difference between bad and good fats.. You have done so well at maintaining your weight (even lower!). I STILL want to be like you...wonder if I'll ever make it...

Cajun - Sounds like you're still doing a good job fighting the fight...you've always been an inspiration to me too. Keep up the good work, as you know you'll be glad you did. I'm telling myself that too. Glad your sons are doing well. Liking your job is a very good thing as so many don't.

Karen3 - You're doing well...keep it up. Ice cream is one of my downfalls too...rarely have it here at home but everytime I go to the mall I have to stop for a kids size scoop and want more...and on our trip we started getting two kids size scoops. When we were in Pismo Beach (a little CA coastal town) there is a great ice cream place called The Scoop...SO good!! And that started my craving it more and I've continued this practice since I got home. So I have to stop that too...now and then is ok, but not often for sure. Thank goodness I don't go to the mall often.

Well I've been online 30 min longer than I planned to so better close now. You all have a wonderful day!!

Hi everyone i want to correct a mistake Bobbie those little pizza's said on the box that they are 370 cal oops. i must have been using what i figured 1/2 of one would be with the extra stuff i put on it. however they sure are good, but i'll bet you of all folks could tweak it to a lower cal amount by using a lo carb tortilla, lofat dressing and your own toppings. we are going out to eat tonight for my grdd birthday who is 15 today.i wrote her a sp poem for her day and made a necklace with a real arrowhead from my dads collection(minnesota) and wire wrapped it attached a small sterling feather, she loves stuff like that. they picked chinese yum. maryea so nice to see you posting again i have missed you. i eat small amounts as my stomach wont hold any more, however i can graze and put alot away if im not careful like did between thanksgiving and xmas and the 10# gain im still battling.no way do i ever want to go backwards. hoping the pool 3 x a week will show results. i did find a swim suit from Roamans and on sale too. i guessed at the size. its a 2 piece tankinni black with an aqua ruffel around the bodice and the bottom is a skirt with shorts under it and the same ruffel. very cute. i find it amazing that im not self conscious (sp?) any more.and loving the pool. steve gets this twinkel in his eye watching me paddle around and the boob watchers good for my ego hoping you all have a great evening ttfn rosey

breakfast
coffee
greek yogurt with 1/4 c kellogs lo fat granola

lunch
2 ham and cheese rollups (lunch meat)
1/2 c green grapes

dinner
not sure yet as we are eating out

I posted the March GG's and will close this one out after I post a short message.
Donna...you asked what I thought about 'Dancing with the Stars' lineup. Max was my favorite, but I can't help thinking he got tired of getting the old gals or the gals with weight problems. Can you imagine lifting Kristie Alley before she lost the weight? And he's never won the trophy.

Mary...I am the only extinct old bird that wears dresses, skirts & blazers and heels to church. I love matching my outfits up with matching jewelry and have often thought of purchasing a standing jewelry chest. My MIL had a nice one when we moved her into the nursing home but I sent it home with our daughter, she loves it. I did keep all her beautiful brooches, earring and necklace sets.

Rosey...I have baked flatbread until crisp and used that as a base for my pizza. I didn't last night because I didn't have any, just used the cheap pizza crust mix. I wish they had a lower calorie mozzarella cheese, I used laughing cow on my 1/4 portion.
