Happy Trails to you Lynn and Karen on your trips today. I'm going to be traveling in an adventure of my own. That is, tackling the storage room rooting out rummage sale stuff.
You all have a great day

Good Morning, All...

Lynn, thanks for the pictures! It looks like you're having a fine time, good picture of you! BTW, are your eyes working well?

Karen, I don't know how to break this to you, but we're getting that icky white stuff, according to the WeatherFools (and the radar maps). Colorado Sprgs is rainy and cold... maybe it'll clear out by the time you get here?

All is well here.... Everyone, have a lovely day!

The Amazing Cucumber
1. Cucumbers contain most of the vitamins you need every day, just one cucumber contains Vitamin B1, Vitamin B2, Vitamin B3, Vitamin B5, Vitamin B6, Folic Acid, Vitamin C, Calcium, Iron, Magnesium, Phosphorus, Potassium and Zinc.
2. Feeling tired in the afternoon, put down the caffeinated soda and pick up a cucumber. Cucumbers are a good source of B Vitamins and Carbohydrates that can provide that quick pick-me-up that can last for hours.
3. Tired of your bathroom mirror fogging up after a shower? Try rubbing a cucumber slice along the mirror, it will eliminate the fog and provide a soothing, spa-like fragrance.
4. Are grubs and slugs ruining your planting beds? Place a few slices in a small pie tin and your garden will be free of pests all season long. The chemicals in the cucumber react with the aluminum to give off a scent undetectable to humans but drive garden pests crazy and make them flee the area. (WOW)
5. Looking for a fast and easy way to remove cellulite before going out or to the pool? Try rubbing a slice or two of cucumbers along your problem area for a few minutes, the phytochemicals in the cucumber cause the collagen in your skin to tighten, firming up the outer layer and reducing the visibility of cellulite. Works great on wrinkles too!!! (DOUBLE WOW)
6. Want to avoid a hangover or terrible headache? Eat a few cucumber slices before going to bed and wake up refreshed and headache free. Cucumbers contain enough sugar, B vitamins and electrolytes to replenish essential nutrients the body lost, keeping everything in equilibrium, avoiding both a hangover and headache!!
7. Looking to fight off that afternoon or evening snacking binge? Cucumbers have been used for centuries and often used by European trappers, traders and explores for quick meals to thwart off starvation
8. Have an important meeting or job interview and you realize that you don't have enough time to polish your shoes? Rub a freshly cut cucumber over the shoe, its chemicals will provide a quick and durable shine that not only looks great but also repels water.
9. Out of WD 40 and need to fix a squeaky hinge? Take a cucumber sliced rub it along the problematic hinge, and voila, the squeak is gone!
10. Stressed out and don't have time for massage, facial or visit to the spa? Cut up an entire cucumber and place it in a boiling pot of water, the chemicals and nutrients from the cucumber with react with the boiling water and be released in the steam, creating a soothing, relaxing aroma that has been shown the reduce stress in new mothers and college students during final exams.
11. Just finish a business lunch and realize you don't have gum or mints? Take a slice of cucumber and press it to the roof of your mouth with your tongue for 30 seconds to eliminate bad breath, the phytochemcials will kill the bacteria in your mouth responsible for causing bad breath.
12. Looking for a 'green' way to clean your faucets, sinks or stainless steel? Take a slice of cucumber and rub it on the surface you want to clean, not only will it remove years of tarnish and bring back the shine, but is won't leave streaks and won't harm you fingers or fingernails while you clean.
13. Using a pen and made a mistake? Take the outside of the cucumber and slowly use it to erase the pen writing, also works great on crayons and markers that the kids have used to decorate the walls!!

I've got to say, Bobbi, that something that keeps slugs away and shines shoes wouldn't ordinarily be high on my list of incredible edibles, but apparently, along with all their other amazing properties, they're also nutritious! Some of the uses I knew about, others I never would have imagined! Really interesting...
So, you're off to see the wizard, Karen...well, the old house, anyway. Do you miss the poor thing at all? I wonder how it will feel, seeing you again after all this time? DO let us know.
Hope your trip home is less exciting (and frustrating) than your trip over, Lynn. Sounds like it was well worth the wait, tho.
PT, I'm glad to hear that all is well in lovely Denver. Snow, eh? Oh, ack! Really and truly, if it DARES snow here again, I won't be held responsible for anything I may feel compelled to do! Right now I am riding a rather delicate balance - I've done well with my eating since Tuesday, which, as we all know, is only four days and nothing whatsoever to brag about, and here it is, another weekend. I'm determined not to get derailed, though, no matter who offers what, but weekends really are tough as opposed to weekdays when I can control my eating by not bringing anything I shouldn't have to work, and then planning suppers carefully. On the weekends, we usually see the kids or visit with somebody or go somewhere, and invariably, it involves food.
Well, much of the weekend is going to be spent cleaning and setting up my new porch-closet, which DH has just about finished. I don't know how he managed to get it done so quickly, but he did, and I'm very pleased with it. So all the work should keep me away from the table - or anybody else's table.
So, off to eat my supper and then maybe a movie (at home) and then bed.
Have a nice evening, all -

Z

Good Morning girls!
It started raining yesterday afternoon and suppose to rain all week-end. The farmers around here really need the rain and I'm not complaining, at least it's not snow. What's with your weather Rosey and ex-Colorado Karen? Hope everyone has a productive week-end and watch those calories! We have a 2 O'Clock wedding and then we're going to the high school to watch the prom kids show off their tux's and gowns, our grandson Damian will be there. I hope I can get close enough to get a picture.

Ciao,

We are staying in a farmhouse apartment in Cortona - a hilltown in Tuscany.

See photos attached.

Today we went to the market & bought stuff to make dinner. My DD & SIL are making spaghetti & meatballs.

Off to wine country tomorrow.

Lynn

Good Morning, All...

Lovely pictures, Lynn... is that the particular farmhouse where you're staying?? Is this the DD who was so sick? She looks wonderful!

Aw, PT, I have to confess a Chinese transgression last night... and I feel like total caca today! I'm not used to it, and I certainly don't think I want to get used to it again! Sometimes I guess I think I need to test the boundaries, and sometimes I get smacked in the head. I trust your restraint!

Karen, it's fine in Denver, just not very pretty. However, CoSpgs is getting a lot. I apologize for our idiot WeatherFools who have allowed this to happen!

Everyone, have a lovely weekend! Bobbi, Isabella, all you industrious sorts, be safe!

Hello everyone! Here are some pictures I took while coming up Ute pass yesterday. Lots of snow up there! Thanks goodness where we are it has pretty much melted and we were able to get the trailer in to the driveway without making a muddy mess!!

We had 50 mph winds all the way from Pratt Kansas until we got almost in to Lamar Colorado!! And of course it hit us broadside all the way!! Did not make for a wonderful trip!! But we are here safe and sound! And the closing is on Wednesday!!! Will be so glad when it all done and we are back home!!

Have a great day everyone!! Will try to catch you later on this evening.

Good Morning, All...

Glad the "technical difficulties" have been resolved!

Karen, I laughed out loud (almost a guffaw!) when I saw those two prima donna pooches in their carseats! I can't believe they sit still for that! Hope your trip is a good one......... Be safe!

Good evening my fair ladies. What a busy week I've had. I've hardly had any computer time at all. But I have had time to eat and eat I did. I've got to get back on the program or I'll not fit into my new summer clothes if I keep up this reckless and mindless eating. But it did taste good.

I organized a baby shower for my friend and made the cake. I'll have to attach a few pictures of the cake when I get the energy to reach for the camera and download the pics.

I have come to the realization that I have so many little projects on the go that I'll have to live to 103 just to finish the ones I have ongoing at the present. I may have some kind of adult onset ADD. A young mother asked me this weekend how I had so much energy while she said she was always ready to drop into bed early at night. That's a no brainer. I don't have 3 small children to keep me busy. I really do have to slow down at night because when I'm up late I eat because I'm up so late I get hungry.

Love all the pictures everyone is posting. And Karen, I too laughed right out loud looking at your two doggies in their seats. Had to call DH over to have a look. Zoe, the family picture is wonderful. What great times you are having with the grandchildren. Lynn, so happy you made it to Italy without too much trouble. The countryside looks so scenic.

Bobbi, I have started doing the counter push-ups again. I stopped for awhile when my back was acting up but I'm trying them again. And I find the best thing for flapping bat wings is a 3/4 length sleeve. What exercise did you find for the arms?

DS and DIL have bought their first house. The closing date is May 14 but they won't be moving until May 16 when they'll have both families available to help them load furniture on and off the truck.

I have to drink more water. I don't mind drinking the stuff, it's the peeing that drives me crazy. It seems that when I drink 6-8 glasses of water I'm spending half the day peeing. I really have to drink more though and I'm starting right now. Gone to guzzle. Have a good evening and I'll catch you later.
