We missed the snow - but did have the cold. We actually had some sunshine today

Jay, I've never been to Bonefish Grill. I will have to keep my eye out for one in our travels. Sounds like the new gym is just what you needed!!!!

I did "My Fitness Coach" again today along with 30 minutes of Wii Fit. And, I'm off to do some Wii Sports for a good chunk of the evening.

Stay warm and dry!

Yep, the rain has come in. But it's not so bad as they kept saying it would be. I do wish weather reporters wouldn't hype things so much.

Went to a step class again this morning. I can't do the whole class yet (1 hour), but the half I do gets me sweating big time! This is good! That's how I know I'm burning calories. Treadmill doesn't do it for me anymore unless I run, and I'm just a wee bit too heavy to run without my knees complaining. But, the day will come...

Got my new lower health insurance bill in the mail today. Man! Am I happy!

Am I the only football fan in here? Gosh...

See ya,
Jay

Hey . . . I'm a Canadian. If I have to watch something it would be hockey. Afraid I have to admit that I tend to favour ice-skating over hockey though. I'm just a girly-girl wuzzie, I guess.

I do like to see the new commercials that they air during the Super Bowl, though.

Jay - step class sounds GREAT! I've been doing the free step and advanced step on the wii - not nearly as intense as what you are doing, I'm sure!

I can't run, even now - my knees scream at me when I do. I can do some in-place running if I use my carpeting and yoga mat as a cusion, so I've done well with the short runs on the Wii Fit, but that is the extent of my running I think.

I marginally follow football, though living in MI was interesting this season. The Lions made HISTORY

DH and I decided several years ago that mindless TV watching wasn't helping us much, so we decided to eliminate as much as possible. I watch about an hour a week (a few minutes in the morning while getting ready for work, and an occasional sporting event). We will probably watch at least part of the game this weekend.

Not much happenin' here. I worked late again tonight, and then got in an hour of exercise. Just settled in with a cup of tea before getting some work done.

Hope everyone had a great day!

Jay- I had a wonderful meal at Bonefish Grill in Naples Florida. I agree if you're going to splurge that's the place.

Jen= you must be getting super excited about your trip to Hawaii. I'm so jealous.

Laurie-Making your own yogurt, I haven't tried that in years. You're tempting me. I wondered how you got your protein in. What a great way.

We're still getting snow here. Travelling to work every morning is really scary.

Have a great day everyone

Hi Everyone,

Lots of snow here still and every time I shovel the snow plow comes by and throws some more into my drive way! I would give up but then I couldn't get out.

Flow, We're close enough that i imagine you are having the same problems! Will it never end? I don't have too far to go to work, less than 2 miles, so it's not too bad. I wouldn't want to be going too far on those roads!

Laaurie, you said you didn't get our last snow. If it's stopped snowing up there maybe it will stop here, sooner or later! I can't run eithre. Knees are fine but my ankles turn.

Jay, if you're past the treadmill you are doing great!! Wow!!!

Well, my trainer didn't show up for our appointment today. He had "forgotten" to write our appointment in the book.

I am ticked off about it--although I would have been at the gym anyway. I'm sorry to say that I feel like if I were 30 years younger, he would have written it down in the book.

It was a pretty good day up to that point...

Oh yes, I do get a makeup.

Lori - yes, yogurt is great for protein. I try not to rely too heavily on the prepared burgers and the like. Having the yogurt maker and the rice cooker (which also does split peas, lentils, barley, quinoa, and the like) helps me eat a more whole foods diet. I used to rely too heavily on cheese and MSF products, and this is one life-style change that I am really loving.

I read some of the weather and road horror stories in the Freep. I usually peruse the online version every day - I can't imagine what it is like for those that commute very far. DH walks to work, and I have about a mile to either of my offices. We are very spoiled!

Freda - we have had sunshine for the last few days - of course that means it is still really, really cold up here - windchill is -6F right now. We are expecting a warm-up tomorrow which actually isn't good news - they are predicting ice pellets

Linda - Hi - hope the kitties are staying warm

Jay - how disappointing! But, who knows, maybe it will turn into a blessing. Sometimes those unexpected disappointments end up having a silver lining. Keep us posted on any tips and tricks from your trainer. I've never worked with one before.

I'm glad the weekend is here. I have a ton that needs to get done since we were traveling last weekend. And, with any extra time, I need to get started on my taxes. Speaking of which - Jay, are you going to be getting crazy busy with tax prep work soon?

I'm proud of me today. I did a 30 minute core workout with my "virtual trainer" on the Wii, and then 30 minutes of aerobics, including a 10 minute free run. It wasn't too bad. Running in place on carpeting is much easier than on a treadmill or outside. I still love the rhythm boxing the best - and it still has me dragging when it is over.

Hope you all have a fun weekend planned.
Stay on plan!

Wow, CD, you are becoming a real fitness fanatic! Or should I say, afficionada?

Yeah, the Lions did make history. Oddly, I have always had a fond place in my heart for the Lions.

Yes, you're right, tax season is here again. How nice that you remembered my sideline! Another reason I was trying to get projects cleared aside a little bit...

flowingair, Bonefish Grill is YUMMMM! Did you have the bang-bang shrimp? It's really a once-a-year dish if even that often.

I have to think about snacks for tomorrow. Things that are manageable! In limited quantities!

Jen, I would definitely go for the every-other-week cleaning service, if I could afford it. I used to have a cleaning service like that when I was working in the computer industry, and it made a big difference in my life!

It was cold enough for a wee fire in the fireplace this morning. Cheered me up--and I needed cheering. My back has been aching so much, and having the trainer stand me up made it worse, I think. Tension, stress...

It's too cold to power-wash the house this weekend... darn... Actually, I enjoy doing it--but not when the temp is below 40. It will warm up to around 60 today, though.

Enjoy your weekend!

Hi all. So much to do, so little time! We are starting to get serious about packing and getting ready. Getting stuff for our daughter, (who is staying home and watching the pups,) and the dogs, so they will have enough while we are away. Haven't found any good books yet, but I still need to get to the grocery store and plan on getting some magazines.

Getting a little hard to concentrate at work. So cold here. Those beaches are calling!

I have reached my first goal! Five pounds this month! (and don't forget that 1/2!) I have also been tracking my food each day all month. I think this is the longest I have gone. I am going to look it over; see where I can improve. Trying to make healthy choices. I know I have been keeping up with the water, which is a very good improvement.

You have all been a great support system! Thank you!

Today I am going to give myself a nice pedicure. Need to have pretty toes for those sandals!

Have a great weekend!
