It depends on the bottle size, but the short answer is absolutely!!! If those are 8 oz. bottles of water, you should probably double that at least.

Here's a quick link to some info. about water and a water calculator that will tell you how much to drink daily based on your weight: http://www.myfit.ca/water.asp

One of the best things about the right amount of water intake is that it helps to keep your brain working better (no really, there's research) and it flushes out toxins from your body. When you are eating poorly and not exercising (like I have been) there are tons of toxins built up in your body. It was amazing to me how much weight I took off just from drinking more water. You may actually be retaining water simply because you are not getting enough water intake.

If you are having trouble getting enough water in (like I do), you can try squeezing some lemon juice (from a fresh lemon, not that bottled stuff) into your water and it seems to help the taste as well as acting to remove toxins. After much experimentation, I have had to completely avoid all drink mixes because they always end up making me drink less water. Sipping also does not work for me. I just have to chug a half a bottle of water (about 8 oz.) every hour or so in order to get in enough water. It seems like a lot, but you get used to it and I feel so much better for this simple change.

Yes! I have been drinking between 64-100 oz. of water daily since January and I think it has really helped me. I feel good, it helps with bowel function and I've cut down on my caffeine-free Diet Pepsi habit. I just try to get most of it in before late afternoon so I don't have to get up so much during the night to pee!

I ALWAYS lose more weight on weeks that I drink more water.
I used to work for a Renal (kidney) surgeon and once asked her if water was REALLY that important.. this is a copy of an email that she sent me - I kept it because it really makes sense to me:

"absolutely, Water, Water, Water... the deal is, if we don't have enough water, our kidneys get over taxed and give some of their work load to the liver, and the liver can't do it's fat metabolizing job to it’s full extent... water is very important. You can actually liberate fat from your fat cells, the fat circulate in your system and some of it go right back into your fat cells because your liver couldn't metabolize it efficiently!"

Reason enough to me to drink up.

Very good point, AnnieDrews I too have to make sure that I drink most of my water earlier in the day. I have found that I can only handle about 16 oz. after 5 or 6 in the evening or I will be up all night

Yes it will. Most any decaffeinated drink will do wonders for you, but water is the best.
