ha, I cross posted with ICUwishing for advice to Petra!

I'm weighing daily at this point - that worked really well for me in March, but did not work well in April, so May will be my testing ground to see what happens. 2 out of 3 wins! lol!

I'll see if I have the energy to come back for a few more personals after I get my son in bed, but just in case, hello to everyone else and hope everyone is starting off the new week and new month well!

Ange: I've reached a point where I am obsessing over every morsel I put in my mouth and feeling deprived most of the time. I have to make trade offs like: because I had an apple today, I can't afford a glass of wine and something about that is starting to feel twisted. Neither are unhealthy choices or gluttenous.

Petra-we always have to choose, and sometimes no choice is better or easier than another. I'm sad for you to feel deprived; that doesn't seem like it should be necessary. I feel like that occasionally, but not all the time or I owuld likely just bail out. Are you getting enough sleep and vitamins and are you relaxing enough? Getting enough relaxation time now that your work has calmed down? I count every morsel too and it's frightening to think I may have to do it for life. Can you turn it around and look at it as an opportunity to choose healthy and goal oriented instead of deprived? I wonder if you are somehow sabotaging yourself inadvertently because you are convincd you are always hungry. Can you do 1/2 servint of wine and diet soda or club soda to make a spritzer and still feel satisfied? Then you could have 1/2 an apple. Eat the apple while you walk around the block twice. Hang in there!

Congrats to Ian, anniedrews!

Petra, I think it is hard not to become overfocused on our weightloss as being underfocused is what got us all here in the first place. I am trying to make the exercising daily my main focus, so I don't obsess about the food and scale. Have I been good...no I am letting the scale get to me. I ate ate at Chili's this weekend...healthy, not over calories, but the scale popped up on me and I'm hoping it is salt/water retention. It's going to be a process for me to make the exercise more important that the scale....I just have to keep at it.

Heidi...good to see you...glad you are recovering and feeling ready to walk!
