Thumbs up Gained ALL but 6 lbs back - here I go again...

I signed unto this site in 2008. I was in a weight loss contest (which I won) with a bunch of friends. A little over a year later - you guessed it - I started gaining it back. For some reason, I stopped going to the gym. What was I thinking??? Now, I am 6 lbs shy of my original weight and have NO intentions of gaining those back. I am now too embarressed to go back to my gym so I do walking around my lake community. I'm up to 3 miles (takes an hour) but I feel great. As soon as I find someone to show me - I'm posting pics and I'm doing it for good this time. No reward at the end...just feeling good about me! It's good to be back...

Good for you and it sounds like you've got the right idea again . As for going to the gym, don't be embarrassed - it shows that you want to do this again and stay with it this time. If I were at your gym and knew you as one of the regulars then I'd probably feel proud for you.

At any rate, best of luck to you and keep up the good work!

I'd just go to the gym if I were you, in fact, I wish I was! I need your motivation! :-) I would love to go to the gym fullstop, it just seems that the gym loves my money more than me and I just cant afford it. I admire anyone who can exercise, I dont have the determination to get into the habit of it and always give up before I get very far. When I was thin I used to even enjoy running, but now I just find it painful... I hope to get back into it all again after the next 10 kilos weight lost!

Well, the good news is that you stopped yourself before you gained it all back and then some! So, that's a plus. I agree with the others; hold your head high and go back to the gym if that's where you can get the best workout...

Good luck and keep us posted!

I think that going back to the gym is a good idea, but you should also workout at home. Walking outside in the nice weather probably helps lift your mood. It would be a nice balance.

I would bet most of the people you see at the gym would be a whole new crowd, or some of the same people going back for the same reasons you are! it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks about it, go back for you : )

Same here :-(. I joined WW a year ago. I was two pounds shy from my goal weight and than I stopped going and gained most of it back. It is very very hard for me to start over again so I decided that as a first step I'll try to eat only when hungry (easier said than done) and exercise more.
