Valerie: You are too funny...hootzba...I think you are referring to Chutzpah...the fabulous yiddish term for guts (or balls even)!

Cerro: Welcome. I have ben doing WW Core for a little over a year and have dropped 90 lbs. I am happy to help you with any questions you might have.

Ammi: My friend kept developing a yeast infection on hr face...a form of candida...she did some research and went to a gluten free diet and it cleared up. There were a few other foods she quit as well...but for her it worked.

To all who have weighed in on the issue of the Bad Bridesmaid....

I told Jason tonight that I had made my decision and that he was going to have to support me on it. He is supposed to get together with Jack (her husband) tomorrow night to hang out...and we shall see if Jack is alone or has Sarah in tow. I told him I would warn him before I do it...but she is not taking my calls, returning them or replying to email. In the end I think it will be a handwrittern letter. She posted a survey on MySpace this morning and one of the questions was "Are you married?" and her answer was something along the lines of Yes and I did it in Vegas (the only way). I felt that it was a contemptuous comment that shows that she really has no regard for what Jason and I are doing. It bothered me terribly...Jason of course thinks I am reading to much into it. But ultimately, he understands why I need to do this and is going to support me. It has already caused me so much stress and I cannot handle this for another 6 months.

My day was also pretty lousy in a few other aspects. I have to tell someone tomorrow that I cannot afford to hire them for a job next year. They are totally worth what they are asking but it would prevent me from paying my other staff. it makes me sad because my program would gain so much from him...but he is viewing it through the wrong eyes.

There is also another situation I may have to deal with tomorrow where I am going to have to tell a sub-standard teacher that she will notbe asked back to be a part of the program I will be running next year. She has been improperly supervised by her buddy (who is leaving anyways) and she was told of the decision tonight and took it very badly. She has ben with the program for a very long time, but unfortunately her teaching methodology and interpersonal skils are just not on par with her passion for the subject...and so she needs to not come back.

Wow...so not fun.

I am trying to keep this all in perspective here...but it's just so much piling up on me at once...I need a massage or something. Or a brownie.

Hey there all!!
It has been such a crazy week (and it it only monday *L*)

I went to Curves today It was kinda cool and have the month ot decide if I like it or not. Hubby and I are thinking on joining the pool/gym combo instead though. They have a ladies section with the same machines so I can still have the same benefits as Curves.

Scrapbook weekend was lovely. It was tiring though and yesterday after selling our garden stones ( my hubby's business he does on his days off) at the fair we came home and went right to bed. We slept 14 hours almost last night adn when we got up this morning felt absolutely wonderful. He got a business offer too at the fair which we are going to take. We are selling them to a store that sells "tourist" type crafts. Hubby was very excited!

momto5 ~ So sorry to hear about your situation. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all!

ammi ~ WHOOHOO that is AWESOME

Hi to everyone else.. I really HAVE to go to bed. It is 12:20am and I am due to meet a friend at the gym for 8!

I will catch up tomorrow!

Xena – I laughed when I read your comment “I am almost afraid it will be MORE work trying to get her to do her work than if I would just do it.” I really have this problem myself – it is something I really need to learn how to deal with. When the CEO suggested I get a part time person to do some of the missing tasks, that was basically my answer.

Elaine – Those little differences can really add up. Going out to eat all the time is really difficult.

Ammi – On Dr. Who we just had the 1st episode with the people in the creepy gas masks during WWII. It is so hard to wait for next week to see the follow up! The play was ok – but I was happy to go because it meant seeing my ex-employee and friend. We were able to have a nice chat after the show. She is one of those few people I have ever met that I really clicked with. In many ways we couldn’t be more opposite – she is like 10 years younger than me, tall blond and very pretty, but I don’t know what it is – we just “get” each other. That is a very cool thing to find and I don’t want to lose touch with her. I am SO glad your tests came back OK. That is really good news.

Luan – No such thing as too much makeup? Hmmm. . . . clowns? (I really don’t like clowns . . . I mean I REALLY don’t like clowns. Some childhood trauma perhaps?)

Maria Lucia – I really know what you mean about abandonment. It really took me a long time to let anyone get close after my mother died. The feeling of “why bother, eventually they’ll just leave me anyway” was hard to quell. With the money thing, I guess the hard part for me is knowing that I would hate anyone to be the boss with me, so how can I do that to someone else? I feel like he should be able to take care of his own stuff, but then again money handling is a skill (why did that make me thing of cattle rustling? ) and it doesn’t mean that everyone has it. The hardest part would be taking away his credit cards. How do you control what someone spends if they can just put it on plastic?

Zelma – I have often thought a slow cooker would be great. Definitely keep up to date on how it works for you. I would also love a rice cooker again. I had one and it broke – they are so convenient (but no buying anything right now!)

Crock – Way to go on buckling down to finish the semester. That paper couldn’t have been fun to write. I am jealous about the book signing! I got mine on Saturday but haven’t started it yet.

Kayley – That lake looks beautiful – what a nice place to walk. I really want to see Brokeback Mountain but Andrew doesn’t want to see it – I will just need to get it one of these nights when he is working so late.

Valerie – I had a friend who swore by that nightshade thing. For her it was for menstrual cramps. She had them so bad she couldn’t get out of bed, but once she stopped eating nightshade plants they got manageable.

Cerro – Welcome to 3FC! I have the same issues with exercising in public. Luckily I have found a small gym that is very friendly and I really like it there.

Dogpal – Thanks for the tip on the book – I will check it out.

Julee – You are right ask her not to be in your wedding. Your wedding is YOUR special day. You don’t need to cater to anyone except yourself and Jason. If this woman is getting in the way of you enjoying your preparations, you are definitely much better off without her. It seems clear from her behavior that she really isn’t interested in participating.

Brenda – I would definitely go for the pool option myself!

Thanks everyone for the words of wisdom on the money thing. The weird part for me was that first I realized that a lot of it stems from my parents current issues which really scare me. My dad hasn’t been employed in awhile and my step-mother recently quit her job. When they lost their jobs they didn’t dial back their lifestyle and now they might be running out of money. They are going to have to sell the house where I grew up and where my dad has lived for 35 years because they can’t afford it anymore. The other thing was that after having that talk with Andrew I feel SO much better about our relationship. I realized I have been harboring this for some time and it has been eating me up. Now hopefully we can do something about it. I should have time to talk to him soon, but his work schedule is just CRAZY right now (although the upside is he is getting overtime).

I am cooking collard greens and seriously stinking up the house. I need to open a window or something. I fell in love with greens when I lived in the south and just don’t get enough of them. Unfortunately I put a bit too much salt in them, but they should still be OK.

Nancy...Andrew was all about seeing it...he knew that it was about gay cowboys, but when I told him about a couple of the scenes, he said no way...haha. Cest la vie.

Going to work out in the yard tomorrow, as it's supposed to be the best day of the week...and the rest is all rain. So, need to get some sleep. Have a good one.

Dogpal, It was wonderful hearing from you!!! I promise I won't let you down!

Julee, Yeah, that's it: "Chutzpah" - the opposite of Putz...the fabulous yiddish term for lack of balls (or guts even.) ** So sorry to hear of your really terribly Not Fun day... but stay outa the brownies anyway, K? That's my turf right now (but ONLY until I get home next week.) I'm glad you reached a decision about the bridesmaid thing. I just would like for you to have some piece of mind about the whole thing, because it really is YOUR special day. I hope you enjoy every bit of it!!
Happy Birthday, Cerro! Happy Birthday BrandNewMe! Happy Birthday Maria!

Sorry Kayley, but I'm with Andrew. Something about 2 men making out just flips my switch - OFF. Nothing against the film, I just choose not to watch it... But isn't there another Harry Potter due out soon??? See - I'm a wimp, so you can tell where my tastes lie.

Nancy, Misti, Crock, Brenda, Wyllenn, Maria and the WHOOOOOOLE rest of the list! - Howdy! Be good today, cuz maybe not today, and maybe not tomorrow, but someday, we're all gonna have to face the scale again.

Thank you everyone for the warm welcome! I am trying to read everyone's posts and commit peoples names and faces to memory, but it might take me a few days. Everyones loss is inspiring me. I would do a ticker but I wont weigh myself. I am just going by inches…I guess I could do an inches ticker.

Julee – you are my personal hero! Seriously, you are doing awesome. I hope to shed at least 100 lbs, but sometimes it feels impossible. However, if core really works, I might just be able to. I have had a bumpy start because my son had been ill, so my start date got pushed back a week. I kind of faked it for the first week but now I am serious. My first big challenge is tomorrow (actually today). My birthday! Hubby is taking me for sushi, I requested NO CAKE (gosh I hope people take me seriously) and I have 33 points left for the week. So I think I am in good shape. I do have a question for you: I was awfully hungry for several days . . . like nothing could make me feel full. But that went away tonight suddenly. I stopped half way through a plate of food and just wasn’t hungry (yeay me!). But now it has been 4 hours and I am still not hungry. Do you think I might have eaten too much sugar or oil (I had core mini meat loaf and roasted veggies). Will my appetite change quite a bit with this plan?

Jill – you are quite right about just working things in for exercise. I guess I feel if I don’t do a work out then there is no point in doing anything. I should just start wearing my son in his sling again and walk around the store. I would get totally buff

Ammi – I lived in Guatemala for 2 months this winter and I didn’t have a car. I got so in shape! If it wasn’t so darn hot here, I would just leave my car at home.

Dogpal – I like your dogs We have 3. We have a pool, so I swim and love it. But now that I am trying to teach my son how to swim, I don’t really move that much in it. I guess I should make a point to go in before him or ask my husband to take him out so I can swim more. I think it is great exercise. I like how you have a minute goal for exercise. I think I have to do that!!!!

Nancy – I would love to find a gym with a baby area (curves doesn’t have one I think) that was friendly. Did you ask around or just get the guts to go in and try it out?

How many people are having birthdays now?

Thanks again everyone for the warm welcome and the birthday wishes. I am excited about being part of this group.

AmmiUK– Wow 7lbs! Way to go! Determination is the way to go. Plus a good strong support group helps a lot too Congrats! And Thanks!

JuleeCees – It’s good to be back. I missed everyone so much. I can’t wait to go down a bra size LOL! Actually I wouldn’t mind a few bra sizes down WHEW! Congrats on the down size though! *big hugz*

NotTheCheat – I agree… sometimes drastic actions need to be taken. If your b/f can figure something else out, more power to you both! Sometimes, it’s the shock that you really are in that much of a hole to make you realize something has to change. I hope all goes well!

Cerro – Welcome! Oh good job for getting on the right track to a better and healthier you. This place is wonderful and full of great support.

My daughter and I did some DDR today on the Playstation. For those who don’t know. DDR stands for Dance Dance Revolution. It’s a game where you use this huge floor mat and you match the steps on the screen. It’s FUN and great exercise. Plus it gave me some time to spend with the kid. I’ve been so busy with school work that I’ve been neglecting everyone at home So we went out shopping, and I got us the new Country Karaoke Revolution and a new Dance Dance Revolution game. We had a ball… wiped me out too! Hehehe…. 5 more weeks of school left then summer break. That’s about the same amount of time left for work before we go on summer break there too… Of course that’s about how long for our weigh in at work as well. Looking forward to that hehehe!!! I’m gonna kick butt!

Time for bed… whew!

Take care ladies!

Good Morning All,

It's another grey day in Wales, so I have all my washing drying indoors lol, have cleaned my bathroom, and now am sitting here guilt free typing away. I wish typing burnt off hundreds of calories, I would be skin and bones by now

MariaLucia - how is that knee of yours now, all healed I hope.

Valerie - I know pups make the biggest messes sometimes, but you still can't help but smile when they do it, they are so innocent looking, like they are thinking 'what did I do wrong' I for one am glad Simon's paw is all better and that he is proving it by having such naughty fun

Crock - oh darn it, it's a shame that your essay is about your opinion on torture rather than different kinds. Mind you, you could name each and every torture you can find and give a seperate opinion on each one, I bet that would take up a fair few pages!!

Congrats on passing your keyboarding II class, with an A no less. Well done. My fingers will be crossed for you on Friday that you will at least get the C you want for Math.

That is so cool that the 3FC are doing a book signing and you will be going to it. You will have to tell them from all of us here how much we LOVE their web site/message boards

Nancy - oh wasn't that episode creepy with the way that little boy kept asking for his mummy, and how the people's faces turned into gas masks. Gross or what

I am glad you liked the play, and especially seeing your friend again. It's lovely when you meet somebody like that and just click. Good friends like that are hard to find.

Kayley - best part about working on the yard is that you get the thing looking lovely AND you work off loads of calories.

Misti - glad that you are enjoying reading all the posts. I am glad you are here even if you don't post often. I am sure a lot of people are put off thinking that they need to write individual replies, they don't, you don't. If everybody just enjoys being here with us then that's the best thing.

Cerro - HAPPY BIRTHDAY Ok I will let you off the walking thing seeing as it's to hot there In that case I guess swimming would be the best exercise for you and as you have your own pool you don't even have to worry about being seen in a bathing suit I know you are teaching your son right now, but I reckon you could squeeze in a few times on your own as proper exercise.

Annie - just saying hi

Heather - thanks for the the congrats on my weight loss, now if only I could work up the enthusiasm to exercise I could be over there with you on the exercise challenge thread. It will happen soon enough

Julee - I don't think my 'gunky' area is down to Gluten, it's just from the fold under my tummy being so sweaty all the time. It's weird because the line of white scaley stuff is only about 5 cms long, the rest of my tummy hasn't got it. I am glad your friend managed to find out what was causing hers, it must have been nasty having an infection like that on her face.

Good on you for having a chat with Jason and telling him your feelings about what's going on with the bridesmaid from ****. It will be one less thing for you to worry about once you have got her out of the picture. It's ridiculous that she isn't taking your calls or replying to your emails. She knows you have plans to make etc, so if you ask me, she definitely did say yes to being a bridesmaid purely to use it as a way to wind you up. Silly cow

I am sorry that with everything else at work etc that you had a pretty lousy day yesterday. I hope you stayed strong and didn't have that brownie you were fancying. The massage would have been a much better option.

Brenda - congrats to your hubby on getting that job supplying the 'tourist' type crafts shop.

Sounds like a good idea for you both to take on that gym/pool combo, that way you can enjoy getting fit together.

SueMarie - thanks for the congrats on the weight loss. When do you weigh in next, I am sure it will be my turn to congratulate you then

Sounds like good fun exercise doing that dance mat stuff. I have a dance game thing myself, well it's the girls, but when I am feeling a bit fitter it might just be the perfect exercise for me. I don't think I would get bored with it that's for sure.

Luan - thanks for the hugs, how did you guess I was so excited about my loss, lol. Might have given it away with the way I was going on about it all,

By the way I love your photo in your avatar, your hairstyle is one I might get if I ever decide to stop growing my hair Come the summer when I am too hot with all this hair I can see myself printing out your picture and going to a salon and saying 'I want that hair'

Velma - I guess you are keeping too busy at work to post daily, just wanted to say hi and hope all is well with you

Sharon - hope the weather is nicer where you are. On the really awful days you need to rub it in to your hubby about how much nicer the weather abroad is

Happy Birthday to all the birthday girls this month. Bye for now,

Hugs,

Ammi
