Checking in to see how everyone is doing. I have had a hard couple of days in a row. My husbands sister died Friday night and was buried today. All in all I have not been on program at all for two days. SIGHHHHHH! Seems just when I get on a roll something comes up that completely throws me. This was such a shock to all of us. She had a heart attack.

I feel for all of you that are in deep white stuff, but it is cold here too! Just no snow.

I was watching the football game until the Eagles intercepted Vicks pass. LOL! GO FALCONS! Now I told you I am a southern girl, who else would I be rooting for?

I still have to try to lose those two lbs for the 2x2 challenge. I had lost one already, but I am not sure where I am right now. Tomorrow is another day, and I will be trying again . You just have to keep on trying no matter what!

See all of you tomorrow. Iwillbe

Smile Hello all!

I have never really posted on threads before. Everyone sounds so positive and upbeat while facing the weight challenge! Back on WW again after realizing I am up to 369 (groan) pounds. First weeks weigh in is Tuesday….until that time I will keep drinking the water and soak up all of the motivation and support here!

Stopping in real quick. We got over a foot of snow here, so I got my exercise in shoveling and playing with the kids. Go Eagles!

Just checking in to say HI! And GO PATRIOTS!!!

And of course to congratulate the EAGLES for finally, after 24 years, making it to the superbowl. You see, know matter who wins the superbowl now I can be happy! I am truly a Patriots fan since I was born and raised in Rhode Island, having moved to Philadelphia 6 years ago, I have learned to like the Eagles since John is a die hard rabid Eagles fan, but then again, my parents are both from Pittsburg and are Steelers fans!

GWhiz, welcome to our group! You will find great support and friendship here so stick around and post often so we can get to know you! I have been here for 4 years now and can't seem to leave for any length of time!! Its a great bunch of people to be associated with!

Steph...did you get the 15-18 inches expected? I'm so glad I left there this winter! We had NOTHING to shovel today!!

Leanne I would give up the cold and snow for your hot weather any day! I love the warm weather, swimming and air conditioning!!

OK I gotta go watch the PATRIOTS! I'll catch up with you all later!!

TTFN Michelle

Tod Pinkston is from my home town so I am rooting for the Eagles to win the superbowl. I used to work with his mother.

Sigh. Born and bred in Pittsburgh, here.

I've done okay today, OP so far--just have to get my exercise in before bed, then WI tomorrow a.m. Happy Monday a bit early to you all...

Thin--Hope that "baby" gets home safe... I'm sure he will. Those snowball throwing elves are TOO CUTE.

Sue--Does that program seem to work most of the time? Sounds interesting...

Marcie, Leanne, WTG at those restaurants! Stay cool, Leanne (how ironic... I'm FREEEEEEEZING).

Iwillbe--Sorry to hear about your sister-in-law. Good for you though for keeping your attitude positive. Maybe you'll get those 2 pounds for the 2x2, but if you don't, getting back OP will be a victory anyhow.

Gwhiz--Welcome. Good for you for starting again. Keep coming back and let us know how things are going. WE CAN DO THIS!

Mary--Hope you're having a better day than yesterday.

Good morning ladies!

I'm up and have done my morning conditioning workout. 45 minutes of pilates, stability ball and weights. This is my life now.

That is how I want to look at all this. I'm tired of struggling with doing the right things. i'm tired of yo-yo'ing because I half-heartedly follow my plan. I just don't want to live that life anymore.

Oprah has a great article in her February issue. Its how it finally clicked for her and how she's gotten so much thinner. It was very eye-opening to me.

The surgery for the BIL has not gone well. He had vein replacement done in one leg. He has an incision from the top of his leg to his ankle. On Saturday they over-medicated him on morphine. Somehow in all that, he's had a mini-stroke. They did a carteriod artery doppler yesterday and he will be having something done on Tuesday because he is 100% blocked and 97%. He is only 55. But he's refused to quit smoking, drinking beer and take care of his body. The cigarettes and beer were more important.

I've told DH that he better get used to the way we live now because we're not going back to a life of poor eating and laziness. He agrees because he sees what his brother has done to his health and knows that his brother will be lucky to see 60.

I won't complain about our weather. It was so windy and so darned cold. But we didn't get snow. So sorry for all of you that have been dumped on!

Iwillbe - I'm sorry about your SIL. My prayers for your family.

Gwhiz - Welcome!

Sorry no time for replies to everyone. I better get ready for work. Have a good day!

Good morning ladies, I am up, but I haven't been as energetic as Terri! . I still have to get myself motivated to go and do the exercise. .

I have decided to do SB or at least I am going to try. I will let you know how that goes! I figure if I fail it will be in phase 1. I am such a carb lover! .

Hi Gwhiz, I am new here also. This is a good place to ask questions and get motivation from these ladies. I would be glad to help if I can. I am still learning my way around. There is a lot of good information on all of the forums. I spend far too much time reading.

See you later. Iwillbe

Just stopping by for quick fly by.

Gwhiz.... WELCOME !!! I love your name. LOL Hope you post often and let us get to know you. These ladies are VERY warm and welcoming. They have a lot of wisdom.. even if they don't always practice what they know.

Dgrizzle.. are you still lurking ?? If so... HAPPY BIRTHDAY !!

Well ladies... the Feb challenge will be in the mail by the end of this day.
It is not very professional ... but I think it will be fun. I feel closer to all of you just by making it.
Gotta go and address the envelopes.

Default Super What??

Here's my pick for the Super Bowl: GO SHOPPING!! Seriously, the stores are empty on that Sunday, no lines!

I don't know what is up with me. I have been eating poorly for days now, except for the weekend when I had a stomach virus. Maybe I need psychotherapy. Oh....I remember! I tried that a few years ago and gained 35 pounds that year. Some days I feel like there is just no way out, because of me, myself and I. Maybe I will try therapy again.

Best of the day to everyone, I'm off to the treadmill -Ruby

Terri, I didn't know we had the same BIL!!! Mine has had two open heart surgeries besides the leg things. Oh well....

I did the 30 minute workout this morning, but it took me 45 I think I'll try that for 3x a week and water 2x and see if that makes any difference in my loosing. I stalled this week, and I don't like that, but I'm still plugging away. Went to Sams and stocked up on more salmon!!!

Hello Everyone!

Ageoldie – Hello there… yes that 200 game was definitely exciting for me. I think I may have found a technique that is going to be positive for my game. I used to pitch for softball in high school (fast pitch softball) so I have this tendency to launch my ball. It usually lands in front of the arrows so know I’m standing all the way back so that when I hit my last step before releasing the ball, I’m a good foot and half away from foul line. Any little bit helps. The more lane my ball covers, the better reaction I seem to get from it, and more controllable too… I know what you mean tho about your knees, I’m starting to feel it to, this is another reason why I wanna lose weight, because of the sport… I can’t play softball anymore I don’t wanna loose another sport as well.

2cute – I do the same! I always look for the emails for new posts hehehe… don’t worry you’re not alone *bug hugz*

Iwillbe – My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family for your AIL. About your OP diet… I know what you mean… I have the support of my fiancé and family for this diet, but yesterday after church they wanted to go out to eat. So what do they suggest?? Red Lobster and Home Town Buffet. I don’t eat seafood (cept shrimp on a blue moon) so that ruled out Red Lobster. I was a bit upset, because no one was listening to me. So that’s where we went. I sooo wanted to stay in the car, but I figured I was going to have to deal with this because I can’t expect to limit my family to go on a diet because of me. I usually go up 3 or 4 times… this time I went up twice and had a small cookie for desert. I was happy… didn’t have that overstuffed and gonna die feeling. So YAY to you for will power. It’s hard I know and many of the times it seems like you are the only one in the whole world who is on a diet. *big hugz* We’re being tested… for what, not sure… but we can do it! YOU can do it!

Gwhiz – WELCOME! I too just joined this particular thread. The support from this whole place is incredible. Good luck with your weigh in and let us know how it goes!

Angela – if you are talking about the Diet Power Program… I love it. You can keep track of exercise, it has a graph for your weight progress so you can see where you were up and down and such, and of course calories, and has a recipe keeper… I love this feature cause I cook a lot and I can plug in my recipies and plug in a serving size. Haveyou ever seen www.fitday.com? Fit day I sjust like Diet Power cept it’s free and you can do this online. I like Diet Power tho, it’s got a lot more functions and does what I like it to do. Fit day has a program you can download as well, not sure for how much.

Terri – your BIL will be in my thoughts and prayers

I had a busy weekend. I was hoping to get back home to do some homework *grr* but at least I got some stuff done (on the brighter side heheh). I guess the darker side is I have to cram all my work into today. So if I disappear, just call 911, let them know that the pile of books on the floor with two feet stick out is just me. A little CPR here and there, and I should be good as new!

Sunday my parents and I decided to try out the new church that is near my parents home. I got the new flyer for it and said mass was at 10:30 a.m. So we show up at about 10:20 and guess what. Mass had already started!? That was strange, then when we find our seats, guess what! Mass was in Spanish. So we’re sitting there and ’m like this isn’t right so I speak with the lady next to me and she says, this is the Spanish mass, the English mass is at noon. So we leave… yikes heheh, when we get home we look at this flyer again… well this flyer was wrong! Not a good start for the church Eventually we show up at the right mass and press on with our days. I have to say tho, I don’t think I’m impressed with the set up of this new church. It’s suppose to be muliti-functional, so we don’t have pew’s just chairs. Usually during communion you whip out the knee bench and you are kneeling, we just stat there. I guess I just have to get used to the new ways. This church definitely wasn’t as crowded, usually my original church we have people standing out in the hallway because there is no seating. Hopefully this new church alleviated some of their overflow.

I lost a pound this week. I think this is good… not to fast like last time. Did I mention my really fun and frustrating roller coaster ride?? Well hopefully this pound stays off… I’m really ready to get off this roller coaster ride. Maybe I might need to drop my calorie intake by another 100 or 200. Maybe that will help with the roller coaster… or even exercise more. That DDR game (dance dance revolution for playstation 2) is getting addicting! I did that for 30 minutes and it told me that I jogged about 1.3 miles (I’ll just say I walked it since it’s really only counting the steps I took). Then I did a 15 minute WATP video for another mile. I’m not sure how many miles I’ve done this month, but I know Cathy has got my beat big time *wink* I’ll start keeping track next month heheh..

Everyone have a great day!

P.S. I know I talk a lot huh? heheheh

OOH! One more question...

Does pepper really help burn fat? or burn calories? My mother (who is Thai) keeps telling me to eat more pepper so I can burn that fat...

Anyone know anything about this? I'm gonna try to do some research on this and see what I come up with...

Thanks...
Sue...

Back to the grind today. I hate it when work isn't fun but there are a lot of undercurrents flowing through our work group right now. Gossip. Complaining. You get the pic. I saved a page from my calendar that says: "If you didn't hear it with your ears don't share it with your lips." That's hard for me as I can be sarcastic on occassion.

So far so good with food. I'm on day three and still w/i my points.YES!!!!!

Wishing you all a 100% day.
