Good Morning.

I am so excited - my Atkins book arrived so I will be studying all weekend.

wannaskipandlaugh: I may be bugging you with questions... I will try not to be too annoying!!

Work has been very stressful this week...WAY too much going on all at once.

But this weekend I am "resting" and "reading".

I can tell your hubby took the pictures because you get a special look everytime you look at him with the camera.
Very nice. Love the doggies!
Isles how is the book going?
I am doing Grain Brain which is often called Atkins gone Primal. I too love the food. Bacon for breakfast and lose weight!!!!!

A little about me: My name is Erin and I am 35 years old from Michigan. I have a wonder husband and a even better 9 year old daughter. I also have 2 fur babies. A 1 year old 70lb baby boxer/beagle named Ozzy and a 8 year old cat named Bella. I have worked in a nursing home for the last 15 years as a nursing aide, but quit 4 weeks ago, because the physical toll it was taking on me was killing me. I was always in such pain from being on my feet so long. 525lbs is a lot of weight to be carrying on my knees. For the last 2 years I have been on prescription vicodin for the pain. (have not had to use in 3 weeks!!) I am now working on me. and hopefully I can get back to working and doing what I love after I shed some of this weight!

Hi everyone! Glad to see how well everyone's doing. I'm at the stage where I look forward to popping on and see how you are all doing, and that means sometimes when I feel like being a bit naughty with my food, I think about whether that means I won't be posting some great losses her to share with you. Whatever works, right?

Katt- beautiful photos! Really lovely and that dress is amazing!

I've had a weird week, where I accidentally cut my carbs very low, which did not agree with me. I've tried to cut refined carbs out as much as possible, and to eat less than I normally would, but accidentally cut way too much. I'm back on track now with a much more balanced diet, with increased veggies.

Had a big cooking session yesterday, where I made some dumplings (perfect for lunches!), and also some almond butter. I've never made it before, but I love nut butters (just not all the added oil!). Well, it took longer than expected, but was worth it in the end. I also used a recipe from a raw foods blog to mix some of the butter with coconut oil and a bit of sugar, and froze it as some fudge. It was delicious, a thousand times less sweet than regular fudge (I hate how sweet it can be) and also much more satisfying for fewer calories! Then my flatmate made us cottage pie for dinner, with cauliflower instead of potato on top. I've been skeptical whenever I've read people swapping in cauli for potatoes, but it was absolutely delicious.

AND I've survived two weeks of getting up before 6am to go to the gym. I go 4 weekdays first thing in the morning, then at night for the fifth day to work with my trainer, and again on Sunday mornings (to justify having brunch!). I thought I'd hate it- I'm definitely not a morning person- but I'm really enjoying it. Plus most of my fears about the gym have either been unfounded (that I'd be too fat to do anything and people would laugh at me), or not so bad (that I'd fall off the treadmill- done, and it was hilarious), or true but I don't care (there are two women who seem to only go to the gym to sneer at people and I've seen them make fun of me, but I just feel sorry for them and don't let them bother me). So I'm feeling really proud of myself, despite wishing I'd lost maybe another half a pound this week.

LIV - great consistency there hun .. and no prob about the forget .. we all do at some point lol ... have updated your chart Obviously the other 4 days you did really good lol.

UBEE - Yes hubby is a photographer so it was better he took them and yep .. still in love with him as crazy as he drives me lol .. nice after 12 years My fur babies are so special .. and so individual .. my girl Gizmo is on my lap .. she rules the house and gets first pick at every option lol .. the biggest one (the one that sits up) is her daughter Baer (pronounced Bear in case anyone wasn't sure) .. the little black & white one is my boy Pepa (Baer is my hunnys) .. and the other little black one is hunnys baby Teagan (daughter of Baer & Pepa).

LEMC - That is great and yet take it and run with it lol ..

WANNA - Looking forward to your weigh in tomorrow .. and yes I love it when my hunny takes pics .. he is pretty much the only one I will happily let photograph me .. can't help but look at him the way I do The fruit and supermarket was my idea lol .. I am thinking of doing a Domestic Goddess joke photo range .. next time I dress up I will be doing the housework lol .. warped humour As for age .. I am realising that while I seem to be able to lose the weight ok .. unfortunately the old skin being stretched for so many years is not looking lovely any longer ... but I will learn to deal with that later

ERIN - Thank you for the introduction .. I might actually suggest that for everyone ... it definitely makes you feel like you know everyone a little more congrats on your loss this week and YAY about the vicodin I think its great you are working on yourself .. I know some people think of it as a selfish action .. but really .. if you don't feel good about yourself then its hard to feel like you can really help others .. so be proud of what you are doing on your path to being a better you for others

Okee .. so following on from Erins lead .. here is a quick intro .. hopefully everyone else will join in too

My name is Sarah-Jane .. but I have been called Katt for more years than I have Sarah-Jane lol .. so its the name I always use. Im going to be 42 in April. Happily married last December to my hunny of 12 years Scooter (Richard). I have 4 fur-babies (see pics lol) and a 22 year old daughter (Ashleigh) also 2 grand babies (Silas - 4 in April - & Zoey-Rose - 2). I joined 3FC back in 2006 and started well from my highest recorded weight of 364. Being 5.9" I am lucky in that I have always carried it well .. but it hasn't been good, having broken my ankles multiple times walking has always been an issue and the extra weight definitely didn't help. Something clicked in my brain or body last year and finally all of those pounds I added on have finally started leaving me ... its making for an incredible growing curve which I hope others will be able to find and appreciate the journey .. not just the end result

Ubee, are you in a blizzard too? It has been awful here all day. NO travel allowed. I have been reading and trying to understand. I did buy the Atkins frozen meals for this week along with some bars. I wanted to make it simple so I could start right away.
I am trying to figure out how to get all “foundation” vegetables in. Six cups of leafy greens is a lot. No problem with the 2 cups of cooked vegies..hmmm too bad, for me, that it isn’t the other way around. But I will get it all figured out.

lemc87 Congrats…

edoetsch1

Ferris, glad you are enjoying the gym.

ISLES - Im going to have to look at Atkins again .. I kept thinking it was all about meat and not much else lol .. but 6 cups of leafy green veg .. that does sound like a lot .. not so bad in the summer when you can easily eat 6c of Lettuce lol ... yup .. will look into that tomorrow ...

Hope all of you in the chill, blizzard, cold, rain .... well crap weather really ... are able to keep warm and safe. Hugs.

Edo - HOORAY you are in a new number! GOOD going! May this number be short lived for you and disappear before the holidays!!!

Hello Isles... Be careful with the Atkins bars... They are not allowed on Induction and they pretty much stall everyone! Even those Alchohol sugars affect your body!... (Shakes too somewhat!) If you can get your hands on Dr. Atkins - himself - Book... he wrote all the books 2002 and prior.. These new ones allow leeway and people stall after the first week or so. Original Atkins has 3 cups total of leafy veggies or 2/3rds cup cooked veggies and 2 cups leafy... Yep Katt...Veggies are desired on Atkins! (Thats where the good carbs come from! )

START WEIGHT: 243.6
GOAL WEIGHT: 220

Week 01 - JAN 06 - JAN 12: 243.6 (start)

Week 03 - JAN 20 - JAN 26: 238 (-5.6 total)
