I'm beginning to get worried that this whoosh I'm on will have flooding impact for the region. But, I'm down 5 pounds since Monday, and I'm so happy. Now I can begin working on the 10 pounds that I gained back last month and hopefully will soon be able to report that my tracker actually reflects my true weight!!!!

Workinghard -- So glad that you'll still be around. I know it's frustrating to see 300.0 instead of 299.8, but if it helps I'll be jumping for joy when I see 300.0 as it will be the first time since 1988 that I've even seen the 3 without some other number behind it. Keep up the good work......Twoderville awaits you.

Garnet -- Hi back at ya.

Jane -- Crammed a lot into the summer????? I don't know how you have time to work with all you've crammed into this summer. Have fun camping and Yellowstone is one of the truly great experiences. Hope you've got several days (actually weeks would be better, but life does get in the way) planned.

Shyheather -- Congrats on the weight loss -- that's a lot off in a short period of time. Maybe we'll meet up in a bathroom some place as that's where we're spending significant portions of our day. Hope this isn't a precursor to your gall bladder giving out!!

Wheezypi -- Congrats on the great GPA and on being ready to go back to school. It does sound like you thrive on the college experience. I think I remember the college experience in my fading rear view mirror.....And congrats on the scale moving down.

Hey everyone! It's Friday!

Betsy- 5 lbs is totally awesome!

pjvw34- I know you can make that scale come down! Just keep your head up and keep trucking along!

As for me, I did! I'm saying hello to twoderville. This morning I was 298.3! Today is grocery shopping day, so I decided to step on the scale for motivation to not buy any junk at the store. It totally worked, as I don't want to see that number go anywhere but down!

@ workinghard

Congratulations!! ^_^

Today is super smoky outside. The fire from Yosemite (sp) in California is causing our air to be really horrible here in Carson City. Still plan to hit the gym tonight, and will tomorrow. Sucks this is suppose to continue because I wanted to try and run tomorrow. Oh well. When it clears, I'll give running a go!

jeez heather, that sucks. best to stay safe than go out and inhale all that smoke.

congratulations, working! that's a huge accomplishment! I hope to someday be seeing those kind of numbers, too!

I'm fluctuating, back up to 391, I think I'm holding on to some water weight or something. tomorrow Sean is dragging us to the gym so hopefully I'll kick my metabolism back up. I know it's got to kind of be due to the fact that I have hardly moved at all for the past week, I've been enjoying my "vacation". once school starts I'll be traveling up 3 flights of stairs two days a week and up a huge hill to even get to the building, so hopefully that'll help me slim down some more.

Heather -- hope the air clears up for you as that will mean that wildfire is under control or out. Sounds as though getting that one contained is going to be a long haul though.

Wheezypi -- You deserved your very short vacation period and probably moved around more than you thought. Your campus walking routine of having to go up a big hill just to get to class will definitely help.

It's finally raining here a little, but is supposed to clear up by afternoon. I need to get stuff out of the garden and since I ended up going in to Costco yesterday afternoon instead of getting the railing stained, I'll try to do that this afternoon. Family is coming tomorrow for lunch -- having salsa chicken which is a low cal/low carb recipe that I hope they like, taco potatoes for my nephew who has to have a potato with every meal, a salad, and mixed fruit for dessert. Easy meal to make as most of it is in the crockpot and the taco potatoes are basically cubed cooked potatoes with taco seasoning mix sprinkled on them and then roasted. Guess I'd bet get the house straightened up a little!

Laughing at myself as I just finished entering my food for the day in MFP. I looked at the totals and got all concerned because the calories were way up as were the carbs. Then I realized that the calorie count was at 1100+ and the carb count was 128. Won't be a losing day for me, but won't be a gaining one either. I need to focus on what I'm eating as much as the numbers!!!!

Picked a lot of beans and tomatoes yesterday from the garden -- going to make a caprese salad this week and will have garlic green beans for several days. Love having veggies fresh out of the garden. While I make sure to have some protein each day, this time of year the meals are mainly veggies and fruits.

I spent the weekend in the city and did a lot of walking. I love Saskatoon. It's a beautiful place. Dropped my carbs right off yesterday and lost about a pound of water weight this morning. (After getting up 30 times in the night to pee!)

Yoga was largely restorative last night (I can't go Thursday because we leave after work), but I'm looking forward to getting in my last few swims before the pool closes for a month of maintenance. The condo is still ripped apart for flooring replacement, and I have tonight and tomorrow night to get it as clean as possible. YIKES!

Jane, sounds like a wonderful weekend which you probably needed with the floor renovations going on. There's nothing more disruptive than trying to do home renovations while you're still living there.

Have a wonderful time in Yellowstone!

For some unknown reason, I'm a whirlwind of activity. I spent yesterday afternoon spraying the weeds on the three terraces as I now start the battle of reclaiming those. Today, I'm going to pressure wash the front of the house and the sidewalk and drive way. Thursday is a trip to the farmer's market and lunch with a friend. Friday I need to clean the house and get laundry done. This is beginning to be how I always was when I was younger. I had just chalked up the lack of energy to getting older.......might have had a lot more to do with how much I weighed!

Hi everyone,

I haven't logged on in a few days. I'm way off track this week. I'm struggling with PMS again, even though I had a cycle just about two weeks ago. I'm so annoyed by it, and a little depressed. Ugh, sometimes I hate having a cycle!

I hope you all are doing wonderful, and that you are able to stay on track.

Checking in here. I haven't been on in a while, but thinking about everyone here.
Can't believe August is just about over. That was fast. I was hoping to be at a 50lb loss by the end of the month, but it looks like I'm going to be 2lbs shy. Getting closer to being out of the 300's is bitter sweet. Happy to creep closer to the 200's but I get upset thinking how far I let myself go that I put myself in this situation. But - that's the past and I must keep on keepin on

Workinghard -Ahh! You are in the 2's now! Congratulations!!!! I hope you gave yourself a well deserved celebration.

Hope everyone is doing well.

Betsy - happy to hear you've found what sounds like the fountain of youth and energy! That's so great.

Jane - Enjoy your vacation. Yellowstone is on my bucketlist.

Heather - Hope the fire clears up soon. what an awful situation. I experienced my first wildfire when I lived in Georgia. We were about 2 hours away from the fire and we had ash falling from the sky. It looked like black snow-crazy. That fire was no where near as big as the one going on in your area.

Workinghard -- sorry about the TOM challenges. I have to admit, I don't miss those at all!!!

2fat2jump -- you're doing so well with staying on plan. Revel in all you've lost and getting so close to being under 300. Yes, it would have been better if none of us were on this side of the 300 pounds mark, but we are. But, it's such a sense of satisfaction to know that we're at least trying to get our eating habits to be so much better.

With that said, I'm still really struggling with getting back on plan. The sweets and carbs are doing a number on me.......you notice how it's their fault as though they were animate objects!

Anyway, I'm going to go low carb for a week (maybe that should be lower carb as I try to watch them) and get the cravings under control. This is my version of modified Atkins Induction where I allow myself 50g of carbs in a day instead of the 20-25. Normally, I try to keep them under 100 -- that's gross, not net carbs. Mentally, I need to get back at it.

Betsy - you'll get there, just keep it up. It just takes time

I've been doing okay on my loss, wondering if I will see a gain in some form due to some bad foods I have consumed. I don't know if I went over my calorie recommendation, but if I did, its my own fault and I'll deal with that in the gym and in my food prep.

Also wondering if I am in the wrong here, but today I just removed a friend over a picture she shared on facebook. She knows how I feel about fat shaming and such, and yet she shared a picture that SHAMED and bashed fat people. I'm sorry, but hello! I don't want to see that, and I feel insulted, not just for me, but at my family. So disgusted with that. Why is fat bashing and shaming, and poking fun at fat people a-okay??
