Default 300+ Must Move in May Exercise Thread

WELCOME!!!!


to the May exercise thread! We're making exercise a habit, giving ourselves some accountability, and getting healthier in the process!

In this thread, we track the number of MINUTES we exercise for the month -- whether it's walking or swimming or sweaty housework! Most of us set goals for ourselves (I personally will not exercise much without a goal). If you are a goal-setter, early in the month set your own goal! If you're just getting started, feel free to start with a smaller number of minutes (I did!), maybe just a few hundred. It seems easier for many of us to build on the habit rather than meet a very high goal right away. However, you can also just jump right in without a goal, and you can join us anytime in the month!

In 2010 the 300+ club broke our 2009 record and exercised for over 250,000 minutes. I don't know if we'll break that record, but I do know exercise is a great way to keep on plan.

We invite you to join us!

To keep track, just add your minutes to the existing group’s minutes. If you’re new, look at what other people are doing – it’s pretty easy to figure out! To help everyone keep things straight, please note the OLD minutes and the number of NEW minutes you are adding, such as
Group total ~ 500 + 50 = 550 minutes.

10 mins of 40 behind the head strengthing
5 mins of 20 single arm behind the head strengthing

Since it is so nice out I am going to count my walking too, because I think I will do more of it if i do.

Since I am including any walking i do that is OVER 10 minutes. I will increase my goals for may to 1200 (from 1000) Time to kick it up a notch :-D

Starting with 40 minutes walking so far.

PG 40 / 1200

Group Total 40+30=70.

I didn't meet my April goal so I'm going to try for 800 again this month. Be back later after I exercise and good luck everyone!

Never would have exercised this morning if I hadn't made a committment to take part in this challenge. My goal looks pretty pitiful compared to some but I'm just trying this month to make the exercise a habit it's more the daily fulfilling of the committment than the number of minutes ...

I hit my goal of 500 min for last month, so I am upping to 600 for this month.

Today I did 30 min with my trainer, so 30/600

Group total: 120 + 30 = 150

25 minutes walking
60 minutes circuit training

85 minutes

Personal = 40+85=125

Group Total= 150+85= 235

I ended up doing 40 minutes of Just Dance with the Wii last night - woah, is that game fun!

40 + 30 = 70/600
