  • You know this is ridiculous!!! People can be so incredibly cruel, insensitive and downright stupid!! PLEASE, PLEASE PLEASE DON'T LET THE HATERS GET YOU DOWN. You are strong, resourseful and intelligent. Focus on that, on yourself and refuse to give a second thought to these idiots who obviously don't have lives. I'm convinced that some people have a need to hurt others because they are so dead inside and this is the only way for them to feel alive. They also have to hurt others to make themselves feel better. How sad and pathetic.

    KEEP YOUR HEAD UP SISTER!!!

AMEN!!! If you are ok with a little bit of foul language, there is a famous comic who talks about "haters" and that their job is to...well, hate.

I was so upset when I read about the whole shopping cart incident at Costco. People are so freaking mean and rude and insensitive at times. But you know what? That is their issue, not yours. Don't let angry people like that get you down. When people have those kinds of issues, it is usually so much deeper than the random stranger they meet in a store. Just accept that they are ignorant and severely broken in some ways.

We on here support you. I have found so many kind and thoughtful people on here I am not sure I would have ever had the chance to meet in real life. Focus on the people in your life that matter----friends and family, and ignore all the haters out there.
  • Quote: When someone at Costco actually held their daughter up to my cart to show her what was in it that was making me so fat, I got home and stayed holed up in my house for over 6 months without coming outside at all.
Wow. I'm so sorry OP and to you Annie. I knew people could be cruel but I can't understand how anyone could think it's OK to treat another human being like that. That's terrible

  • Quote: Like everyone else, I am super sorry that someone was so stinkin rude to you! It has happened to a lot of us including me but unlike the strength you showed by just going on about your business and not letting it derail you I didn't do that. I applaud your courage and your sticktoitness! When someone at Costco actually held their daughter up to my cart to show her what was in it that was making me so fat, I got home and stayed holed up in my house for over 6 months without coming outside at all. So, good for you for realizing those people are the ones with the problem not you.

    Hugs and blessings,
    Annie
What?? OMG....I would have smacked her upside the head for that.So sorry you had to endure something like that. Look who the real winner is though. You've lost so much weight and getting healthy, and those losers probably eat and feed their kids, garbage every day. Karma. Nuff said.
  • We all have something. With us - it is food. Sad how some people have to make fun of others to feel better about themselves. Do not get angry - pity them. Bless your heart for being strong XXX
  • As sad as it is, the world is full of ignorant and cruel people! I would have had to tell them to get their nosy selves out of my buggy!!! I have started asking for nutritional information when I eat out and I have gotten some pretty strange looks from people that almost made me feel bad for asking but I have decided that I have worked too dern hard to lose what I have already lost to throw it all away! I don't see anything wrong with wanting to know how your food is prepared and what the nutrition info is!!! It's actually pretty scary to look at! Things that you thought would be good for you like salads usually have way more calories and fat than a big hamburger!

I 100% agree with everybody else, don't let people get you down and make you feel bad for trying to be healthier! Hold your head high and be very proud of what you have already accomplished! The ignorant ones will never go away so we have to learn to ignore the insults of the ignorant!! Hang in there, WE are doing great!!!
  • Basically people suck. And think they have the right to judge. Just remember no ones perfect. And you should be so proud of yourself for not turning to food (I know I would of/do)
    HUGS!!!
  • Quote: So yesterday I was in the food section of Wal-Mart and I'm going through making sure I pick up a few things that are light and good for me. I'm feeling good becuase I'm getting back on track now and then it happens. A couple, a skinny couple, with skinny kids came through. And I heard them talking, but then started talking so low I couldn't really hear them, and laughing. I look back to see them looking at me and then their skinny teenage daughter looked at me like I was the most disgusting thing she'd ever seen. I guess for a minute I was shocked. Some people are rude, but I hadn't seen anyone be that rude in awhile, I guess. And I sort of tried to push it away, thinking that while I was in the ice cream section, I was buying FF bars, as a treat that wouldn't hurt me too much. Then of course as the evening went along I could tell I was thinking about it and getting down and in a bad mood. I didn't let it affect me when dinner time came, didn't eat to hide the feelings and push them down with food like I' would normally do. But I do still feel bad about it. Just trying to use for positive help. Motivation. But it's hard to do.
Aww, i'm sorry to hear about your experience. I hate when people are rude like that. There is no excuse or reason to be like that.
    Hope tomorrow is better
  • Good for you for staying positive. Some people can be so ridiculous!!

I have thought a few times about how I'm quite proud of myself for losing over 50 pounds and yet, I'm still WAAAAYYYY overweight. Oh, well. It is a life process. And, everyone in my life has learned not to judge people. My kids are growing up to be far better people than those people will ever be.
