Hello ladies. :]

I hope everyone is having a great weekend. I have been doing nothing exciting today but it was nice to relax after all the exams I have done this month. I am excited about the fact that it is February tomorrow for two reasons: I am going to set myself a goal of 1200 minutes of exercise, which I am hoping to achieve, and it's the month of looooove so bring on Valentine's Day!

Annie
Thank youu. :]
Have fun at the Superbowl!

purpleorc
I'm not really surprised that it was full of traffic in London. It is a big city, after all. :]
The conference suite sounds wonderful! What does your husband do, career-wise? I assumed because you said you were helping your DH with the deliveries.

JuliaDH
Thank youu. :]
I do stretch when I exercise, otherwise I'll be in a lot of pain.
My upper back was sore the other day because I was stretching my arms in a backward sort of way.

Have a great weekend!

Beth

Hi All - I just spoke with Debi - they are without power still and may be for up to 2 more weeks. She is hanging in there, trooper that she is, as well as possible. They are still saying it may be 2 more weeks until they have electricity. Keep them in your thoughts.

Annie, glad to hear that you and Joel are ok now. It's hard when finances get in the way of life. Hug each other often, sometimes it's all we have.

Rosie, I have a birthday to get thru too, my dil. I'm just hoping I can get passed the enchiladas without too much indulgence and not even have a piece of cake, but I know that won't happen. Good luck!

Julia, um...ok..you're on!

Carol, tell Johnnie and Debi I said hi. Sure hope Deb gets her electricity back on soon.

Angie, sorry about you not being able to get your puppy but you have to look out for the kitty.

Beth, I had so much fun with your mom today on AC. It was great to meet her friend Melody too and go to her town. Tell her I said hi. Congrats to you on making your exercise goal for this month and I'm sure you'll surpass the one you've set for yourself for February.

Didn't dance last night but it was alot of fun anyhow with all the new singers. Lots of people we knew were there too. Today has been sort of a lazy day but I have to get my butt moving to get my steps in.
toodles for now

Ok girls I am +3 lbs for todays WI. I am not happy. But could be bad choices, could be water retention from yesterdays work out, could be lots of stuff. SO I am going to try hard to not beat myself up. Making healthy food for super bowl tonight. And gonna do some cardio this afternoon.

Good afternoon ladies

We are snowing gently here at present though it does not appear to be settling at present. The snow is very fine in consistency. Just finished lunch and making a jelly (jello) sugar free of course. I am trying to be good and using things up out of cupboards and freezer. Otherwise they never see the light of day. I want to have a thinking in a bit about tomorrows menu, I have already got Tuesdays planned. I have popped some bananas in the freezer which are getting quite ripe but are ideal to make banana ice cream. It is is not ice cream in the conventional sense but you take the skins off and wrap in cling film ( i think you may know it as plastic wrap ) then pop in freezer. When ready to use take out 20 minutes prior to use then place in a blender and blitz until soft and smooth in texture. It really does taste like soft ice cream excellent on its own or accompaniment to fruit or jello.

JuliaDH Like you I am up this week for my weekly weigh in. There are so many factors that can play a part in weight gain like you said. I think mind is a combination of bad food choices, TOM approaching fast and my tummy ulcer playing up. I can see my tummy is swollen from the ulcer my own fault in someway with eating greasier food and ulcer taking offence at that

Would be grateful for your recipe on the oat carrot bars made for the children. Would like to make them myself providing I can get the ingredient in the UK or use an alternative. Both DH love oat tasting things and I like baking. Yes my budget for food went down as we were no longer buying junk food. Now it is a lot more wholesome and definitely keeps you fuller for longer.

Debbie54 Glad you had a nice time last night when you went out for the evening.

dgramie
Now that is really hard being without electricity at this time of the year especially. I had a taste of that in the 1970's due to strikes but they were for a couple of days not weeks at a time like gggirls said she is an absolute trooper. She is in my thoughts at this difficult time

Baz xo My DH used to do security work until my condition deteriorated to the point I needed more and more help. So he took the decision to give up work and take care of me. Though on about 1 or 2 times a month we may do a delivery for his brother as a favour. Though saying that it is doing us a favour getting us out of the house and to some really nice places. I just go along for the ride and make sure he has the right paper work and help spot door numbers. It would be much easier for him if he did it alone I know as he has to help me in and out. Plus walk with me to bathrooms in service stations. He does all of this without complaint. He took up some voluntary work at the centre where I have my treatment. So now when I have my oxygen therapy it might be my DH who operates the oxygen chamber. He had to have training for this and go on a course.

My DH and I had not being going together all that long when I started to experience problems which was later diagnosed as MS. Some men or women may have left you do to not being able to cope with the problem . Though my DH has stuck by me and taken such wonderful care of me. Without him I would not be able to live such an independent life style. Never once have I heard him utter a word of complaint about having to do what he does. I am so lucky he is such a wonderful man.

Realist Tough work schedule at the moment take care that you get some time to relax and recharge your batteries as soon as you can.

Yes we live on a budget also due to the fact my DH and I gave up work due to my MS. Initially it was a bitter pill to swallow after having a good income. Though I am OK now and think gosh how much I used to waste before. There are sites on the INTERNET which are useful if living on a budget and need somewhere to start.

If you do managed to lose 7lb in a month that is a nice steady lose which is a good amount which pans out about 1 3/4lbs per week which when you think of it in those terms is excellent. Keep up the good work.

Rosie It is a toughie when events come a once that have more calories than your use to. Christmas was my bad one. I play cards and all the Christmas whist drives ended up being in one week. Each had nice food at them so I just selected one sweet item and the rest savoury. Where as before my healthy eating I would have had many sweet things. I did not lose any weight that week but then again I did not gain. I saw that as a victory.

Your mum did well losing 100+lbs it does not come easy it requires will and determination. Plus the odd from 3fc members

Time to go and make a cuppa take care and have a lovely Sunday.

Rosie: I hope that you are doing well with all the temptations. Hugs

Julia: I am so excited for you to be able to go to the gym with your DH. Mine just won't do it.

Angie: Please don't over do the work. Take care of yourself. Sorry about not being able to get a puppy. I can see the obvious love you have for your kitty.

Beth: Great goal for Feb of exercise minutes. You are doing so well.

Carol: Thanks for the update on Debi. If you speak to her again please tell her hello and hugs.

Debbie: I'm sorry that you didn't get to go dancing. Maybe soon.

Well, we are off to the superbowl party. Hopefully it will be a good game.

Blessings all,
Annie

Julia, sorry to hear about the weight gain but hopefully it will be just water from exercising. Heck, that means I have a better chance of getting below 300 too! LOL, um er sorry about that.

purpleorc, the banana "ice cream" sounds really good. I gotta try that.

Annie, we went to karaoke, We just didn't dance once we got there. It was still fun though. Lots of people! I wish I lived closer to you, I'd go exercising with you but you would probably kick my butt! LOL

I'm wondering if Penny is one of those who has lost their electricity. I haven't heard a thing from her in days. I hope all who are without heat and electricity are doing ok.
Today is my dil birthday so it's going to be really tempting here. Cake, enchiladas, taco salad, chips, salsa. YIKES!! I'll do my best. I'm glad my WI is on Fridays.

Well, gotta go for now, have a nice day ladies!

SOOOOO happy. Steelers WON.

Ate too much. 2600 calories. Too much sodium and fat too. But I walked OVER 18,000 steps, walked for 2 hours today, and will have burned 3800 calories by the end of the evening. I will gain some weight out of this, but hope to burn it off quickly.

Angie - Get that water in to get that sodium flushing out. I know I will be up peeing all night!

Carol – That’s amazing that you’re almost out of the ‘obese’ category! Just keep at it!!!

Beth – Congrats on meeting your exercise goal! That’s great! I’m an amateur photographer, yes. I work with a lot of local models to help build portfolios, and I also take on paid gigs such as Senior Portraits, Engagement Sessions, and I’ll have my first wedding this summer! I’m quite excited!

Just checking in quickly! Had a great weekend, and I have a bunch of homework to get to, and also need to get around to editing some photos from a shoot I had this weekend.

I got bored, so I decided to give myself pink bangs, and the ends of my hair are pink as well. Haven’t had pink in a while, and nothing ‘fun’ in a long time, so I figured why not?! Lol

My weigh-in is tomorrow. I’m probably going to be retaining a lot of water, because I drank far too much. *sigh* Oh well, I suppose.
