Hi everyone, just checking in. I finally gave in and weighed on my scale and this morning it said 287.5 that scale always weighs high, but I am happy with it. Means I have lost around 9 pounds. I sure know I am feeling better. I have also managed to stay with in my points and my family had gone out to eat several times. I tried so hard for 2 weeks to give up Drpepper that is my thing. I bought diet drpepper and thought I would just drink that. Well the aspertame (sp) is making me sick. I broke over and bought a regular drpepper yesterday and just counted the points. I have to be able to leave with my new eating style and i am just not ready to give up drpepper. I did find diet coke with splenda and I am going to try that and see if it makes me ill.

Good to see everyone is doing ok.

Carol how is yoga? That is something I would love to try.

Tina

BattleAx – Interesting article I may have to look into that more!

Carol – I hope the party went well!

Debbie – The film was excellent, I really enjoyed it considering it’s a musical as well but I do recommend it! I mean who can say no to Johnny Depp singing! I was good just kept to my snack-a-jacks chocolate popcorn as well!

I love the feeling you get from feeling good about yourself… I’ve found that also just from dropping the 44lbs, so god only knows what I will feel like in another month or so!

The Story So Far – Sorry I don’t know your name yet… I hope the appointment goes well for you.

Annie – Enjoy the reflexologist, I love having that done but not done it for a few months, something tells me it’s time to treat myself again!

Kimmie – I guess I shall have to add a photo of me soon!

Tina – Well done on losing the 9lbs!

I hope you all had a good weekend, quiet here, Sweeney Todd was excellent! I signed up to the gym again so I could get swimming and join some aqua classes! I figure I can justify the monthly fee if it helps shed the pounds!

Another NSV, I was sorting out my wardrobe today and some clothes are now too big, most have gone to the bin but some of my good quality items have gone on eBay to make me some more pennies!

The big weigh in tomorrow…

Good morning/afternoon everyone

Things here are good. I weighed this morning too and things are looking promising for Wednesday. All in all having a good weekend. Not doing much of anything. Have to get on the threadmill later but right now happy doing nothing. We have a retreat near valentines day and we are thinking on dressing up...we needed a valentines pink or red team and decided to do the "pink ladies". Its going to be cute Made me sit and want to watch "grease" today. I might tonight after my workout...

Anyhow, i have to run. Housework i think is calling. Wanting food and I know I dont need any so I have to try and keep myself busy. tata!

Lost another pound today! woot!
I've lost 3 pounds since the 15th which seems fast but the scale could be crap too. At least it gave me the same number twice this morning.

Hi everyone,

I had a bad eating night last night, but it's over and I'm back OP. I'm having a craving for chicken soup, so I'm headed out to the store to buy a chicken. It'll be good because I'll freeze the leftovers and will have them for lunch this week.

Nancy: thanks for posting the article about ghrelin and leptin. Very interesting.

Have a great day, everyone.

babybear - I'm almost the opposite about diet soft drinks. My father was diabetic so we've probably had diet soft drinks around as long as they've been available. I can't even touch sugared soft drinks anymore. It used to be if I was sick I'd try to take sugared ginger ale, but now I stick to lemonade if I need calories and I can't keep anything down. I've also weaned myself off diet drinks as well. I allow myself one drink of crystal light or one diet soft drink a day (and boy do I miss them).

Zelma - no, keep the pictures up. It's good to see those at (or close) to their goals. As much as I may envy where you are, it's good to see others who are getting closer (or are there).

Wow - I just realized I hit 2000 posts! Very cool.

Nia class yesterday was great. We still danced a good bit following steps, but she also had us dancing free form and trying to dance with different parts - mental, emotional, physical or spiritual. It was so interesting! It was fun to try and dance from different parts of yourself and feel the differences.

One of the women in my Nia class who also goes to other classes I go to asked me if I wanted to go out dancing with her at a club. I haven't been dancing in a club for so long! We were going to go last night, but then she was really tired so we have rain-checked for next weekend.

Yoga was also cool because I was able to do a back bend up from a bridge pose. I had tried before and my arms weren't strong enough, so it was great to see some progress! I am still having a lot of trouble standing on one leg, so I want to try and remember to practice that during the week.

I went to the library yesterday to get some new things to read. I wanted to get Ultrametabolism, which is a book that talks about how hormones affect the metabolism, but they were all checked out so I got a book called Good Calories, Bad Calories. It is a very detailed book about the science of healthy eating and looks really interesting.

I am finishing up some laundry now and then later I have to go to the grocery store so that I am stocked up for the week. Unfortunately I do not have tomorrow off.

I hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Hi All - ahh - my Sunday struggle is here - not quite as fierce as normal though - making headway. The kitchen is spotless which helps so much - if my kitchen is clean it helps put my head in the right place.

As for diet drinks - I had only drank diet pop for at least 30 years. Somewhere along the way I gave them up too - although not intentional or I probably would have had some major withdrawal. Now it's water for me - by choice. I always could tell when they fast food place gave me the wrong drink.
Tina - I do like the yoga - it is a 90 minute class. It's a nice mix with the cardio I do the other classes. If you have netflix - check out something from there to see if you like it. When I started out I tried the JMS Yoga - it was not overwhelming for me like a number of videos have been for me - in fact, I wished it was longer.

Nancy - good for you - dancing at a club. Sounds fun!

Battle - hope the desire for chicken soup doesn't mean some ailment is on its way. I fixed chicken tortilla soup yesterday - minus the tortillas - so good - I'm looking forward to it for lunch this week.

Hope everyone has a great afternoon - more later.

Hugs,
Carol

Well, as much as I would like to pretend it hasn't happened so that I won't be as upset if something bad happens, I can't ignore it when it starts kicking. At first I thought it was the beginnings of contractions and another miscarriage, but it is apparently just really active. Himself got to feel it too. He was freaked out. It is also apparently nocturnal. I can't have an ultrasound for weeks yet. The way they do it for people my size, can risk a miscarriage, so they won't do that until they think the risk has passed. I guess I'm going to have to start taking afternoon naps. I had thai for lunch, so if I can keep that down I'll be happy.

I was just about to ask the same thing, Battle.
I had a miscarriage in March of 2007, so I'm hoping that I get another chance at it. We had been trying to conceive again since the miscarriage with no luck. I recently have been trying to come to terms with the fact that I may not get another chance, but I am wishing the very best for you, Catherine.

Catherine, it sounds like you're having a hard time adjusting. So sorry to hear you're having such a hard time. Hopefully it will ease up some after a while. Geeze, I would what I would give to have your boobs!!! Don't forget what committee I'm president of. How far along do they think you are? Ah..the kicks..how I remember those. I'm so excited for you.

Heather, it was good chicken, just that I don't like to fry that much. I could get addicted to fried foods...well..I have in the past. Isn't fried stuff a no-no? Bad for cholesterol?

Kayley, Good for you!!! Great news on the job....eewww wweeee, a chauffer, no less. Great starting rate too.

Annie, glad you enjoyed yourself and made a new friend to boot!!! BOOOOO for the Chargers. I want the Pats to go all the way!! Would that break a record? If it had of been under any other conditions, I would of been rootin' for the Chargers though. Jim's praying for the Packers.

Tina, that's great news about the 9lbs gone!!! You're doing really well. There will come a time when you will give up the Dr. Pepper, you're just not ready yet. It's too bad the aspartame gets you sick...hopefully the Splenda won't.

Alison, yum, that popcorn sounds yummy. Where did you get that? Great NSV. I never thought of selling them on ebay. Good idea. Good luck on the WI.

Brenda, good for you on your WI looking promising. Isn't it a motivator when you can tell the difference?

Heather dw, good for you on the pounds going away!! And I hope your dreams come true.

Just did 60 more minutes on the DDR but I think I felt something give so I might give it a couple days before I try again. We are doing the challenges and battles and they just move too fast for my poor little brain to think. But it's still alot of fun
Eating is going well although I did have some chips last night...pringles so not too bad.
Just relaxing and watching the games. Pats won!!! Now for Green Bay, my hubby's team.
Have a good one
Debbie

Nancy -- Wow, I know the back bend pose you're talking about. I haven't done that yet! Very cool!

Catherine -- Wow. Keep us posted. I've never been pregnant, so it's all new to me...

Debbie -- Deep frying foods isn't great for you -- often because of the batter used, as well as the oil! But we stir fry foods with limited oil and I constantly saute veggies for my various dishes, with a small amount of olive oil... so I think there's bad frying and then healthy frying. Sounds like you made your recipe healthier, and that's a lot of what this is about!!

I'm from Mass, so rooted for the Pats. If they win the Superbowl they will be the only NFL team to go 19-0. In the 70s the Miami Dolphins went 18-0. They played one fewer game in those days.

But we're also interested in the Packers game. Hubby's a Favre fan.

I went to see the movie "Juno" today. If you have not seen it yet, I highly recommend that you do. So good!
