Default why do i do this?

I just dont get it.. i was doing great for a couple weeks.. watching the calories, going for walks.. dancing( wasnt that a sight? lol), and drinking loads of water.. was making some progress as well..
for the last couple weeks i have gone back to all my bad habits.. water hasnt passed my lips, only soda.. KFC has gotten loads of my money... and walking to the car has been my exercise..I have been feeling really homesick with the holidays here, and i know that is probably the biggest reason i have messed up so bad.. but knowing it and doing something about it are two different things. I know its wrong as im eating something bad for me, but just say wth and stick it in my mouth anyhow... i dont know.. just needed to vent a lil i guess... i havnt stepped on a scale lately cause i know i have gained back some if not all that i lost and would be soo depressed to see it lol... i look at some of your posts, and you have lost really large amounts of weight.. i have a real respect for those of you that can continue to do what's right.. it is probably the hardest thing i have ever tried to do, and the first time i try it i fail.. those of you that have been sticking with it should be congratulated..you are doing awesome. Hopefully one day ill be like you guys lol.. gonna try again on monday to get back on the wagon.. mondays seem like a good starting day for me lol.. wish me luck everyone.. ill probably innundate these boards with posts to pick your brains as i get weak again lol so be warned.

I can't imagine being away from home on the holidays. One question - why wait until Monday?

Hugs to you

I'd venture a guess everyone here has been where you are right now. I know I have. My first thought is that none of us is perfect. How about you start with baby steps...no KFC for a week. Then the second week - a goal of only one soda a day, the third week a 15 minute walk each day. You didn't get where you are overnight...give yourself time to teach yourself new habits. With a new habit a week....imagine what you can do! You don't have to be perfect today - just aim for doing better than yesterday. And don't beat yourself up when you fall down...try to figure out what might have caused it and learn from it. Then move on.

Venting is good - that's what this place is for!

Don't wait till Monday, just keep at it.. This project we all working on is based 24/7...every minute, day, counts on working our best that we can do. Each day is a new beginning, I say and live by it.

I lurk and post often and just wanted to say Good luck with your efforts and bravo on your fitness regimen..I adore walking/dancing..So keep your chin up and make your efforts shine always!

Sit back and think about what you wrote there. It is probably the hardest thing you have ever tried to do. I absolutely agree - I feel the same way. Would you expect to pick up a trumpet the first time and be able to play a tune? No - you would have to learn how to play a note before you could even start to think about putting them together. The thing is, you only fail when you quit trying. I have come to think about it as an ever improving (hopefully) journey where as long as I am headed in the right direction than I am going the right way. We are all going to mess up every once and awhile - probably for the rest of our lives. We will never be perfect, but we can pick ourselves up and dust ourselves off and keep going. Not even on a next day basis, but right now - whenever that happens to be.

I know how you feel... I just came off of a really bad eating binge of almost two months. I started with peanut butter cups and kit-kats at Halloween and continued up until last week with Banana nut and Pumpkin nut bread.

I think most of us get tripped up at some point, and have a little bit of a backslide, but the thing is, don't let it stop you from getting back onto those better eating habits.
