  • ..To the November exercise thread! We're trying to make exercise a habit, give ourselves some accountability, and get healthier in the process!

    In this thread, we track the number of MINUTES we exercise for the month
    -- whether it's walking or swimming or sweaty housework! Most of us set goals for ourselves (I personally will not exercise much without a goal). If you are a goal-setter, early in the month set your own goal! If you're just getting started, feel free to start with a smaller number of minutes (I did!), maybe just a few hundred. It seems easier for many of us to build on the habit rather than meet a very high goal right away. However, you can also just jump right in without a goal, and you can join us anytime in the month!

    And you want to jump in, because one of the main reasons to be here is to track how many minutes we exercise as a group! In 2006 we came close to 200,000 minutes. I'd love to see us surpass that goal this year. Here's where we stand!

    Finally, if you're new to this, pay attention to how to add your minutes to the group... people get confused if they can't easily see our new total. I recommend showing the previous total, then your minutes, then the new total (which should be the sum of the other 2 numbers). For example, if the group had done 500 minutes already and you did 30, here's what you would do:

    Group total ~ 500 + 30 = 530 minutes

  • Okay, I'll start. I'm going to stick with 1000 minutes again for November. It seems to work out well for busy months. I end up working out generally 5 days a week and include a mix of cardio, weights, and yoga.

    Plus, I don't have time to think about any other options!!!

    Ok, I'm going to jump right on in !

    I will start off with committing to 400 minutes for the month of November.

    20 minutes 5x's a week is a good start for me and this thread should help give me the accountability and consistency I've been needing with exercise!

    Thanks for the intro Heather! I hope to be able to catch on and keep up soon enough!

  • Okay, I've tried 620 as a goal for several months and haven't made it yet. I'll try 500 in November.

  • I am kinda new. I posted here over a year ago. As you can tell from my ticker I fell off of the wagon. I got back to it on Sept 3rd. Hope it is ok if I join you all again.

  • First, Welcome to BXGirl and welcome back Ahill! Okay, that said. I am going to up my minutes for November to 1300. I made my October minutes + 7 so I think I can do better in November.

  • Howdy yall...since I met and went over my October goal I am just so excited. I know that all I am doing is walking BUT I look forward to it.

    So i am raising the bar this month..

    My goal is 250 minutes!!!
  • I just got finished with some exercise....YAAAAAY!!! So I'll start us off....

    Group 0 + 25 Me = Group Total 25

  • group 25 + 30 (me) = 55 min
  • My goal is 1500 minutes for Nov.

    Group 55+125 me = 180
  • Adding yesterday and today's time.

    Group 180 + 90 me = 270
  • I am setting my goal at 1000 this month since I am having a lot of trouble motivating myself recently.

    Yesterday I did 30 minutes on the elliptical - HIIT at level 6.

    The group total is now 270 + 30 = 300
